gone and state police, helicopter is gone, boat is all gone because they say the woman who said she saw a man throw a baby over the bridge lied about it. look at the video we got from earlier, police spent nearly two hours searching the merrimack river by the bridge. police say three people originally reported seeing a man with the stroller throw a baby over the bridge and into the water. police say after a lengthly interview with the people, and a rei have of the area surveillance cameras they found it was not credible. the woman told investigators she lied. so again police are saying that this was all a hoax and that woman that originally claimed she saw that happen lied. and she could face charges. we are reporting live in haverhill tonight. >> kim: turning to nature's gift, a hot holiday forecast,

let's see what is happening with the temperatures, a cooler day for saturday and back up to near records on sunday, and it will hurt a little bit and snow in the extended forecast, details in a few minutes. >> reporter: a scare outside a shirley prison and tonight the guy opened fire is on the run. police are searching for clues around the outside of the prison. tim caputo is live in shirley with what investigators know. >> reporter: at this point no suspects this custody and this search ended hours ago but if you see behind me corrections officers blocking off the entrance to the property. this after someone fired at least one shot awfully close to the prison. a prison put on lockdown after corrections officers heard a gunshot in the woods nearby. state police were called to mci shirley to help search for a man seen run weigh not long after his single shot was fired. no one was hurt and state police

was hunter in the woods. those who live near the prison they, say they knew something was up. state police used infrared cameras to searched woods but came up with nothing. the search shut down both entrances to the priss and and christmas eve visiting hours were can't said. this woman drove an hour to wish her brother a merry christmas. >> i wanted to see him before the holidays. but we can't now. >> reporter: state police officers will keep an eye out for the man who was seen running away, neighbors say they are not worried about a possible gunman lurking in the woods. >> excitement for your christmas eve? >> if there is noy noise or would tell me. i'm not worried. video constituent police say there was a maximum security prison here, where former patriots player aaron hernandez currently resides and all the

seeing the family's story on 7 news. the nightteam's brandon gunnoe is live in dorchester, so he can show you what kind of support that foil is getting. >> reporter: three days before christmas, this mom comes home and she has presents for her kids but she sees the previous christmas presents she bought was stolen. we are happy to report that this families have stepped up, to help out. for a single mother a nightmare before christmas. police say someone stole all of her kids' christmas presents. >> they stole my kids' christmas. >> reporter: its happened on tuesday, colleen fritz went to hide the christmas gifts. i had a weird feeling something wasn't right. >> reporter: the clos the filled with gifts were ransacked and toys were gone. >> i was thinking they would appear like they are on to something.
