give it credit it deserve. your storm time line 3:00 tomorrow morning, patches of snow then flips over to the sleet and rain in the city of boston around 7:00 or 8:00 but still continuing as slept and freeing rain down 95 through foxboro west up through woonsocket then up into the city of worcester and fitchburg, snow sleet and freezing rain for several hours tomorrow morning. and the evening as we work into the afternoon hours tomorrow, i'm still thinking we'll have pockets of freezing drizzle and freezing rain going on. merrimac valley, new hampshire sea coast a real tough travel day basically west of 128 certainly 495, route 2, southern new hampshire around metro boston as well for a short time tomorrow morning it's a slow go. a lot of extra time because when you come out of the front door the apartment or house tomorrow morning you may have a coating to an inch of snow to get rid of before the rain starts to do its thing. farther inland one to three of ins of heavy, wet slushy snow with sleet and freeing rain on top of that and then across southern new hampshire three to five inches of a snowy, slushy

down with a sleet and freezing rain through the middle part of the afternoon hours tomorrow then winding down toll evening. for more on the storm is chris lambert. chris? >> anchor: hard to believe just a few days ago we were trying to pick out what town would be 70 degrees, now we pick out what town would see the most snow and most ice. want to start off with temperature tomorrow morning 6:00 and jr was mentioning changeover to rain in boston as early as 7:00 or 6:00 in the morning seeing that one set east wind comes off the warm ocean temperatures but clearly still below freezing throughout a lot of suburbs. just west of the city of boston through mid morning, late morning approaching 40 in the city of boston, load to mid 40's dunn across the cape but we're still holding close to freezing if not below it through the merrimac valley out through bed bedford and into worcester too and this is where we could have issues of prolonged sleet going over to some freezing rain for a while. look at this mid afternoon tomorrow, lower 40's in the city of boston, now late in the day 6:00, 7:00 in evening there may be cold air that tries to work back through northeastern mass and change over.

drizzle so we keep that in mind. overall though, i do expect the worst travel conditions from route 128 to the coastline to be in the morning hours through the morning commute once we get into late morning hours and change over to plain old rain we'll call it fair, a lot of wet roadways out there. inland near 495 then back into the merrimac valley as well as into southern new hampshire i think we have more olonged issues, especially secondary roads late morning into the early afternoon with that freezing rain in place but may see things improve to fair as we get late in the day and we begin to see precipitation taper off although still patchy freezing rain still around late in the day. more on the forecast to come . >> anchor: this storm is creating travel trouble across the country of are already overloaded with holiday travelers, travelers there and weather system is slowing thing down even more. we have a closer being look at that . it's finally starting to look and feel like winter here in boston and all across the country but that's not really good news for holiday travelers.

record and so weigh we thought while the previous three warm decembers, how did that fair for seasonal snow? happy to report if you are not a fan of snow that they all came up well bow know al 44 inches of snow. hard to say where we're go year. some winters we start slow like last year then make up like gang busters as you work toward the end of the winter. i don't think we'll have 100 informs of snow. we'll have some know only tonight. boston right now at 30. bedford at 27. fitchburg at 28. colder air in new england. teens, 20's and 30's. down the ev seaboard though you notice new york city at 4, washington, d.c. at 45. warm at the ground, also warm up in the clouds and you notice the front edge of the storm system here, snow breaking out but also noticing some pink and some green, those are the pockets of sleet, teasing rain and plain old rain with a warm front on the warm side of the storm system and that will cut down on

accumulation. there will be snow in boston late tonight, probably around 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 in the morning. vel early tomorrow morning but i think by about 7:00 or 8:00 it's plain old rain in the city of boston but just inland it will still be sleeting and pockets of snow going on, several hours of sleet though in the area shaded in pink. worcester, bedford, framingham, natick, mills toward foxboro and as the other direction into great and lawrence and tyngsboro and up through ayer and orange and jaffrey and hingal. i can go on and on but i won't. slow the thing right down. what will happen is we'll have several hours of sleet and freezing rain then it's probably going to wind down as freezing drizzle worcester and fitchburg and nashua then end as some plain old light rain in the city of boston and south shore. but even here these locations boston south shore there may be a couple of pockets of freeing drizzle tomorrow night and downtown boston. so the big question, snow, how much? not a lot but the first one in several months so obviously it's

here in the city of boston a coating to an inch, south shore, probably gets washed away with that rain through the morning hours into the afternoon. worcester and metrowest merrimac valley one to three inches of snow and then up along the mass new hampshire border three to five inches of snow with some freezing rain and sleet on top of that and there may be enough freezing rain that we're talking about some minor power disruptions. it's possible in the worcester hills again not going to be a repeat of 2008, not going to be is a greater likelihood across east slopes of the berkshires of some minor power disruption because they will have significant ice buildup on trees and power lines but northern worcester county i think you will be okay but there could be a couple of instances where we lose power here and there. obviously we'll keep you updated throughout the night and tomorrow morning. your 7 on 7 forecast wednesday mid 30's and thursday temperature in the mid 40's. mild. >> anchor: we will see you again shortly and very good evening to you, everyone of i am adam williams . >> anchor: we're tracking

>> anchor: we have team coverage of the winter weather preparations from home to the roads. we have you covered. storm team 7 tracking the very latest in the path. we begin with our meteorologist jeremy reiner. what's the latest on the time line? >> reporter: we're thinking opt tonight, adam, probably around 3:00 a.m. and that will carry us through the morning out so poor travel expected tomorrow morning. thankfully, school are out so perhaps you are out with the kid ohs as well but for those of you that i have a morning commute action lou extra time. winter weather advisory in effect for the areas shaded in purple which does include the city of boston. boston proper, it's not a major event in the sense of snow because i think it's going to obviously start as snow but it will quickly go over to sleet and then rain by about 6:00 in the morning tomorrow as well as much of the south shore. it's a cold rainy morning as well as the cape. fartherp land though so you are coming into the city from the west and north. these will be the problem areas because you are going to have snow that goes over to sleet for several hours and then eventually over to rain and metrowest.
