waltham, lexington, up into the meimack valley. freezing rain tonight but tomorrow temperatures move into the 40s for the afternoon. we'll have more on that in the seven-day forecast ahead. >> now to breaking news out of pennsylvania. bills could pee making his first court appearance after being charged with sexual assault. the comedian is out on $1 million bail tonight. >> it stems from an alleged incident back in 2004. ryan schulteis live at the breaking news desk with the very latest. >> the district attorney saying that by cosby is charged with felony aggravating decent assault by tonight his attorneys are saying the case is not justified and vigorously will defend the comedian's name. >> reporter: he was once a wildly popular comedian but bill cosby's staining wednesday was a courtroom for philadelphia for arraignment on the file charged earlier in the day of sexual assaulting a woman. >> there is one charge that is filed, aggravated indecent assault. >> reporter: the incoming district attorney says this case involves a former temple university employee who cosby invited to his home near

>> on the evening in question, mr. cosby urged her to take pills that he provided to her. and to drink wine. the effect of which rendered her unable to move. >> andrea previously came forward as the alleged victim in a civil suit and through her attorneys expressed appreciation of pennsylvania authorities for finally charging cosby. she's one of more than 50 women who say they were drugged and/or sexually assaulted by cosby and who, according to legal analysts, could be called to testify against him. >> the absolute game changer here is that bill cosby may very well have to hear, not only the victim in this case, but the testimony of all of the other alleged victims with a similar m.o. >> reporter: cosby has denied set at $1 million and his passport was confiscated. >> cosby is also facing defamation lawsuits from 10 women who say they have been branded as liars after his representatives dismissed their sexual assault allegations. in the news rooment, ryan schulteis, 7 news. we're also following

new hampshire. a driver killed after crashing into a car carrying four secret service agents. investigators say the driver did not have a valid license and was known to police. >> kimberly. police say his license was suspended since 2014 and they say he's had lots of problems with drugs and finally out on probation. >> reporter: he wasn't supposed to be on the road but police say 45-year-old bruce danforth, a new hampshire roofer, dad of 5 and grandfather of 7, got behind the wheel of this mercury sable anyway. >> mr. danforth did not possess a valid driver's license at the time the accident. mr. danforth was known to us. >> reporter: investigators believe he passed a car on icy route 16 in wakefield, new hampshire tuesday night, crossing over the double yellow line and right into a ford taurus with four on-duty secret service agents in it. >> they were working as part of the protection efforts for secretary clinton.

candidate had a campaign event in berlin that night and her motor aid actually passed through the accident scene five hours after this happened. learning that all of the agents had serious injuries and were hospitalized she issued this statement, my husband and i send our prayers and condolences to all the victims and their families. we are grateful every day for the service, dedication and professionalism of the u.s. secret service. the scene. emergency workers to cut the door off to the car he was in to get to his passengers his buswell. both of them are in the now investigators are looking for witnesses, especially the car they believe danforth passed right before crashing. >> if you were in that vehicle, you were driving that vehicle, please contact new hampshire state police. >> we today to the mars rover buswell. she tells us her daughter is currently in the hospital with a ruptured spleen.

new hampshire, kimberly bookman, 7news. new at 6:00, a child in worcester being treated for bad burns. police were called in after the 2-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital. the parents say a pan of hot water spill the on her legs. in hamilton, a car crashes into a shallow pond. the driver facing several charges including operating you was. police arrested the 21-year-old early this morning. and the winter classics just two days away now. the bruins back on the ice with some special guests today. it was family day at gillette stadium. but don't let the smiles fool you. the players are gearing up for a serious battle with the canadiens. we have team coverage of the new year's day face-off. we'll begin with trey dare live in fox autoboro. trey. >> coming to you inside gillette sadium, of course normally the home of the four-time super bowl champion new england patriots but come friday this will be the home the eighth annual winter classic between the boston bruins and montreal canadiens with the bruins becoming the

classic twice. >> it brings a lot of memories being here today and playing outside -- skating outside and in the next two days, practicing and playing. it's gonna be a lot of fun. >> the bruins all smiles this morning, taking the ice at gillette stadium for the team's family skate, the black and gold happy to finally focus all their attention tonight friday's classic showdown with the arch rival canadiens. >> the last few weeks we had a lot of games in front of us so want to kind of stay in the moment and not think too much about it but now we're here and have two days to get ready for it, which is nice. >> reporter: before getting down to business tomorrow, the bruins were thankful for the opportunity to spend some quality family time on the ice. >> a lot of fun, a chance to escape with everyone's family and kids and wives. it was -- yeah, it was a fun hour, i guess. >> it's good to see everyone's families and everyone's always having a good time out there and a lot of smiles. >> reporter: and for dorchester's jimmy haze and quebec native maximum tail bet, those smiles will be especially

fuzzy side. >> reporter: whether it's goalie gerask wearing a patriots hat while carrying his daughter or people catching unforecastable moments with selfie sticks, the winter classic family skate is a real favorite for bruins players and staffers alike. center max tail bet was sharing a moment with his little boy. >> i feel the family skates are so fun because you know my son is about 2 years old, and it was his first time on skates. had the go pro going and these are memories you'll cherish forever. >> getting in the stadium on the ice, it's just unbelievable. >> reporter: the team's strength and conditioning coach was busy trying to teach his 6-year-old twins how to skate. >> it's awesome. better than what it was at fenway. and the reason is i've got my two kids now. didn't have kids then, so makes it special. >> which is better, the bruins or the patriots? >> bruins. >> bruins. >> that's the right answer. >> reporter: dorchester native jimmy haze was having a blast, relaxing out on the ice with his

woburn firefighters with a special show of support for the grandson of one of their own. they're organizing a huge fundraiser for a 4-year-old little boy battling cancer. >> and the story hits close to

nick emmons is live in woburn with the story for us. >> yeah, tonight's event is to raise money for joey mcdonough, he is undergoing some tough treatments right now. he is the grandson of a retired woburn firefighter. tonight's event is really all too familiar for the firefighter community here. just over a year ago, they raised money to help out the family of another retired woburn firefighter. those two men close friends. that's where we're at right now, a cancer family. >> heart-wrenching. i knew exactly what he was going to have to go through. >> reporter: two families rocked by the same disease. >> it's an aggressive cancer and even like with frontline treatment, there's a 50% relapse rate. >> reporter: doctors say it only affects around 700 patients every year, but this difficult diagnosis is now shared by two families with a long history together. >> we work together, we play together. we raise our kids together.

grandfatherstien was a woburn firefighter along with brooklyn's grandfather joe. their families live across the street from each other. >> it's beyond numerical possibility to me,. >> two people in the same neighborhood just across the street from each other. it was unbelievable. >> reporter: brooklyn had just finished treatment when joey was diagnosed. >> they both underwent the same exact chemotherapies, had the same surgeon, have the same primary oncologist. >> reporter: when brooklyn was undergoing tough treatments just under a year ago, the woburn fire community stepped in to raise $20,000. now with joey facing a tough road ahead, the fire community is answering the call again. >> we're all family. once you're in, you're in, and their family is our family, vice-versa, and it goes to firefighters all over. >> now, the fire fighting community has set up an account to help out joey's family. it has been set up under prayers for joey. we will put that information on

>> now of course, 7 weather with meteorologist chris lambert. >> cold air mass not fudging much throughout the day and now we have a freezing rain advisory in affect seven and to 3:00 in the morning for most of the state with the exception out your temperatures should be above freezing for the most part as you go through the evening hours. the radar doesn't pick up on the lowest level moisture. there's been a patch of freezing mist out there now but some steadier showers getting their act together back through upstate new york out into pennsylvania and this is what i do expect to move in later on this evening. more notably after 9:00 this evening through about 5:00 in the morning.

right now, 30al north. bedford. a lot of 28s to 30s showing up in the boston metro area north and west. this will be the area that contends with the freezing drizzle and freezing rain over the next several hours. >> because we did get much wind today, we really didn't get the opportunity to mix down relatively milder air above the 1,000 feet up it's above freezing in a lot of locations. we weren't able to mix that down and get rid of the chill at the lowest level so we held below freezing and now becoming a this evening. locally dense fog. it's been out there, but mostly the visibility is running between 1 and 2 miles, a good low-level moisture trapped in place and that's why we're seeing freezing fog as well as there. take a look at the forecast model going into this evening,

showers working in later on this evening. so i think this will be more widespread into the blackstone valley. that would be the freezing rain that we're watching. notice that pink area really shrinking by 4:00 in the morning. temperatures nudging up ever so slowly overnight tonight. i think we transition over from freezing drizzle and freezing rain just to some plain drizzle and plain rain late overnight tonight and more notably by daybreak tomorrow. couple of showers around tomorrow morning, by the afternoon we're back to sunshine. the west wind tomorrow, it will scour out the leftover cold air so i do expect temperatures to jump into the 40s. the milder air, somewhat milder air, buffalo, new york, pittsburgh, pennsylvania, that's what's gonna be with us for tomorrow afternoon. i do expect that. ice sets out on the driveway right now and you should be able to melt that and thaw that out tomorrow afternoon. today was a stubborn day with

how do the numbers play out? above freezing in boston at 4:00 in the morning but may be a few other spots in southern new hampshire, merrimack valley, just below the freezing mark. and by mid morning, we're close to 40 degrees in boston. in the afternoon, mid-40s in boston, upper 40s southeastern mass and upper 40s in the worcester hills. tomorrow night, all important forecast, right. midnight in the city of boston and first night, 35 degrees. so it looks good. a little bit of a breeze, windchill factor running about 25, and the winter classic out there at gillette 39 at kick-off. just joking. when the puck drops, i know. we're not used to saying hockey out there at gillette. right. 7 on 7 forecast, snowshower possible with an arctic front on monday, otherwise, cold air in place but dry. coming to you live from gillette stadium, the boston

losing streak with a resounding 7-3 win over ottawa last night and now can completely shift their focus for the classic before gearing up for new year's day. the bs getting a chance to have a little fun in a skate here at gillette stadium. the boston bruins taking the surroundings away from their new home away from home. the black and golden joying the down time with their significant othrs and families before ramping up the intensity in tomorrow's practice as they prepare to face off against their arch rival in the biggest game on the calendar to date. >> rtsz a regular seasoning game, but at the same time, it's a special moment for everyone and you want to play your best. >> this morning i was telling the guys that it was important for them to take today and tomorrow really as a preparation because you can't just get in the game without practice, and it's such a different atmosphere that the wind, the weather, the lighting, so you gotta find your bearings. >> bad marchand on the ice this

but he may be watching the winter classic from the press box. marchand had a phone hearing this afternoon with the department of player safety for his low hit on the walk's mark last night and could be suspended for friday's game. bruins and canadiens face off until the 2016 winter classic right here on 7 nbc. we'll get you ready all week long leading right up to the puck drop at 1:00 p.m. on new year's day. thanks to a 10 and 0 start to the year, the patriots cruised to the top spot in the afc, however, now that could be in a bit of jeopardy as the broncos knock them off and now the broncos could actually claim the top spot with a win and a patriots loss this weekend. bill belichick's team of course needing to take care of business to secure that number one seed on sunday in miami but should they stumble against the dolphins, the patriots could still finish atop the conference if denver drops the season finale at home against the chargers. regardless of where the patriots finish in the stands, tom brady saying there's only one thing that matters when it comes to
