up because of this fire still raging at this point. we just talked to meteorologist jeremy reiner. winds are gusting 30 miles per hour in some parts of boston. they try to fight the fire with very heavy winds going on and you can see here just plumes of smoke coming from that area. this is going out of 130 babson street by mattapan square. heavy fire and smoke still going on as ladder trucks are put up there as we try to fight the fire. we have a crew on the scene and we'll keep an eye on pictures and when we know more we'll come back in and let you know. >> reporter: right now boston 32, plymouth at 33. fitchburg 28. here are wind guts as ryan noted gusting over 30 miles per hour, guts of 36 in the city, norwood gusts into 26. worcester gusts to 30. fire fighters it feels like 18 outside right now. beverly feels like 19. worcester feels like 12. blustery and cold this evening behind the big storm from yesterday. what a powerhouse storm. we had wind and rain and even some thunderstorm.
4:48 pm
way i should say that we had come through here rather impressive between one and two inches of rain. millford over two inches of rain rain. plymouth 1.8 inches of rain here in the city of boston. 1.39. number of have you been asking hey, if this were all snow what would that have been like. it would have been probably at left a foot. upwards of two feet of snow again it's a little tough to say say. an equal ratio because warm storms like yesterday's hold more moisture than cold storms. 20's so you have a cold but dry morning commute and in fact i
4:49 pm
evening's commute should be in fact. roads should be dry up until about 6:00 and then we'll see the rain and the snow showers arrive between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. again it will be rain showers i think for inch of the 95 corridor, metro boston as that weather system passing across northern new england will scoop up some mild air just mild enough so we're a tagging raindrops as opposed to snowflakes although in the worcester hills in southern new hampshire will start as snow and end as snow and it will be just as brief window if you will to pick up the snow showers and even in the city of boston i do think it will wind down as some snow in the backside but the front part is rain then a coating to an inch possible in this white shading here the 95 corridor even into metrowest. 495 route 2 corridor southern new hampshire thinking one to two inches of snow likely. so that weather system blasts through here and then on wednesday blustery and cold with mostly sunny skies. more sunshine on thursday. it's dry on friday and then here comes another weather system this saturday into new england
4:50 pm
that the cold air comes into new england. they just move the cold right out of the way then the cold comes behind the storm system. by the way, an early look right now that saturday storm i'm thinking more wet than white down at gillette. it will be a chilly rain with tempts that kick off running in the upper 30's saturday evening. sunshine for sunday. see you at 5:00. >> anchor: we'll see you then. we'll tech check a ride home. >> reporter: going to look now to the mass pike westbound ride of a very slow go as you can tell. going to get by exit 17 and eventually out toward the natick area dealing with a tough ride there about a 55 minute commute. how to do it now just leaving office from downtown out toward exit 13. had some delays as well making your way along our ride here 93 downtown. they eased up nicetily. cruising along pretty well at this spot but after this area 93 does bog down a bit at 128. 128 northbound on the brakes at
