potent weather system comes barreling through southern new england. this little guy here doesn't have a lot to work with but he's going to make the most of what he's given. it will flip this cold front through new england later on this evening and as it does it kicks up the atmosphere for snow showers and rain showers as well. so our storm time line 6:00 this evening snow and rain getting into the city of boston. evening commute shouldn't be affected that much. there's likely to be a couple pockets of snow in the metrowest and worcester hills over the next hour, hour and a half. boston north and south shore i think we're dry certainly for the next hour, not including a flurry or sprinkle here or there. as we work through midevening then the weather system blows out of here with just a lot of clouds and then metro tonight. so how much snow on the way? the thinking really hasn't changed much since chris this morning. rain and snow back and snow.

>> my fear is he's deceiving you the way he deceived us. while in the past five years he may have improved his actions, it's only because he was told to act a certain way if he wanted to be considered for parole. >>reporter: we're told the parole board may take as long as eight weeks before issuing their zig in this case. live in natick, steve cooper, 7 news. lowell high school responding to a rumor about a threat of a attack on january 14th. the school says police have conducted an interview into the threat and say it is not credible but extra police will be assigned to the high school on thursday. police in salem, new hampshire are offering a $1,000 reward for any information on the vandals who spray painted about a dozen homes in the city. they say cars, homes and mailboxes were all damaged. worcester police investigating two assaults involving

a court-martial has been set for august. bill cosby's lawyers say the charges were illegally filed. the comedian was charged last month for allegedly drugging and assaulting a woman in pennsylvania back in 2004. cosby paid the woman and dos closed a settlement. his charges say the new charges violate the terms of the settle. lamar odom will not be facing charges after he almost died from a drug overdose at a nevada brothel last october. police initially wanted to charge odom for using cocaine but prosecutors say they couldn't determine odom used the drug while in their jurisdiction. odom is out of the hospital and continuing to recover in a private facility. three police officers now being called heroes. what they did to save those trapped inside a

it was a race to the rescue for police officers in west hempstead new york after fire broke out in a building there. >> the officers say they just acted on instinct. >>reporter: amidst the screams and smoke from the raging fire from this apartment building in new york on friday, three hero police officers. >> don't have any gear on them, no protection going up this ladder risking their own lives to help other people. >>reporter: all credited with potentially deadly fire. >> i just want to help people in distress. >> just go up there and
