the snow. road conditions will deteriorate somewhat but it's not going to be long lasting. noticing the air is drying out, hartford, worcester. the dry air punches into boston by 9:00, 10:00 tonight. skies clearing out. there may be a couple of lingering flurries. rain drops and snow flakes ending as some snow, coating to an inch. one to two inches around the metro but most of that is back in the shading blue. these locations one to two inches of snow and traveling now up until about 9:00, 10:00 tonight might be a little bit dicey and then things improve certainly for the morning commute. our haws dan hausle is keeping an eye on the roads. dan you're behind a salt truck. you're on route in in

that is a salter. the salters and sanders are taking to the roads trying to make it safe for all husband. this guy is making route 9 eastbound safer for it the traffic that is moving slowly but is moving in kind of the typical rush hour traffic which is of course falsely named. nobody is rushing around right now. namely just because of the volume of traffic. we've got flurries and we've got kind of a haze on the road here, just a little bit of slickness but nothing too much that's going to slow down the drivers. we've seen a number of salters and sanders laying down the material anticipating the weather ahead but right now more traffic than weather causing trouble. back to you. >> dan, thank you very much. we know the people in worcester are hoping they won't have to deal with plow and parking problems tonight. the snow is already on the ground at central massachusetts. they are expected to see it stick. trucks are out of the roads there too trying

that means big business snow because he can be out plowing. crews say they are going to be out all night to make sure these roads stay safe. in worcester tonight, kelli o'hara, 7 news. there is breaking news in boston, a serious accident out on tremont street, a pedestrian hit by a car and it caused an even bigger accident. tim caputo joins us on the phone now with some breaking details. >>reporter: a terrifying situation when you consider just how busy this part of town is, tremont, beacon street, a bunch of one ways here. some of the guys who were in the cars that were involved in this wreck. it's a four car wreck witht least one pedestrian, a jeep, a purple jeep with new hampshire plates was coming up the street the wrong way in reverse and turned on to another street the wrong way still in reverse causing a fourth car to hit into them and hitting a pedestrian in all of

we are told two people hospital. boston ems telling us one of those people in serious condition, the other only have minor injuries. this entire street is roped off. they've got it down to one lane on tremont street certainly causing a pretty bad backup at this time of day. i spoke with three of the drivers, they were not hurt. we don't know the condition of the one driver going in reverse different streets. we're told one of the people taken to the hospital was in their 50s. to his 40s. police are investigating out here. they do have three of the four lanes roped off as they continue to investigate exactly what happened here right in the middle of rush hour. that's the latest from news. that accident not the only one in boston. a woman in roslindale being rushed to the hospital. she was hit by a car on

more information right breaking news from following. iran sees twos u.s. navy boats with ten american sailors on board. >>reporter: kim, the navy boats iran's military. learning. the pentagon says one of the boats was having mechanical difficulties earlier today and drifted into iranian waters. officials telling abc news that the iranians realize it was a mistake and are planning to release the ten americans. everyone on board is being described as safe. now both secretary of state john kerry and president obama will now involved and we'll continue to follow the story for you and bring you more details as we get it. 7 news. hopefully we can flip the script. >> edelman back on the

>> he said give me money, give me money. >> knife in hand. >> i can give you money. my money's in hand, one hand. >> when the clerk took out a knife of his own, the two started swinging at each other. that was sunday morning around: 30. today the alleged attacker is under arrest, charged with armed robbery while masked and armed assault to murder. police say they used this surveillance video and store clerk's description of the suspect to arrest 36-year-old jose tirodo-sanchez. it was a close call for the clerk. he ended one scratches on his face and hand. at one point during the fight both men dropped their knives. the attacker rearmed himself with a clerk' weapon. >> i'm lucky. i have a life. >>reporter: the police officer was on an unrelated call of they recognized sanchez at least in part from that surveillance video.

we are tracking snow right now marching through metrowest, worcester hills and city of boston. appreciate that tweet, david. this will be with us for the next three hours. springfield, hartford, already done. it's fast moving, tiny but rather potent. two plumes of steadier snow that if it's going to do any damage to us, it would be thsm the arctic front is out here. i think it will dry up by the time it jumps over the berkshires or maybe some flurries around midnight. the main event up until about 9:00 this anyone. at the coastline and the city of boston down along the south shore maybe up around cape ann. it's going to go back and forth between rain drops and snow flakes but just inland, 95, 128, it is snow and that's where you're going to find moderate to heavy of the accumulating snow. one to two inches of snow which will have to

after 9:00 there's nothing new. you can budget in some extra time for the morning commute. closer to the city i think it will be back and forth, rain drops and wet snow flakes. from this weather system here, low pressure and the arctic front will snap through here around midnight tonight. temps right now boston 36, beverly 37 and plymouth at 35. that's why these locations, the accumulation is lighter as opposed to out here with the air is colder and it's been accumulating from the get-go. and even colder on the other side of the arctic front, temperatures down in the teens and around 20. and that cold air is heading this way. as is strong wind, wind will begin to develop later on tonight and be with us through the day tomorrow. blustering cold with lots of sunshine. and we'll need it. temps tomorrow only near 30 diagnosed. when you factor in the wind which will occasionally gust around
