>> sarah: breaking news out of boston. a man hit and killed while crossing the street in dorchester. police tried to piece together exactly what happened. investigators say the driver left the scene. >> reporter: right. the accident scene here on washington street in dorchester still sealed off at this hour with crime scene investigators, you can see firefighters still on the scene as well. they have been carefully trying to piece this whole thing together for the past several hours. boston police telling us moments ago that the driver who took off from the scene is now being questioned at police

i'm just nervous. i'm scared. >> reporter: shock from people who live and work here on washington street in dorchester following a fatal morning. i didn't know exactly what happened. a police officer said that somebody was kill. >> reporter: the victim was an three miles away from the accident scene in mattapan, shattered front windshield. investigators, we are told,st are interviewing the operator of a vehicle involved in the fatal crash. beyond that, police won't say much right now. any reaction that the driver took off from the scene? >> i don't know why he did. that he was supposed to have stopped. >> reporter: through the investigators were seen scene. while concerned residents are anxious for answers. >> it is scary.

off-field distractions. foxboro police released the sunday morning. when police logs show patriots defensive end chandler jones walked into the public safety building looking for help. >> in the front lobby area. >> reporter: according to the firefighters performed a medical evaluation in the back parking lot. jones was sent by ambulance to norwood hospital. it's still unclear why the pro-bowler needed medical attention. the dispatch recordings also reveal an officer went to jones' home which was nearby to secure it. >> i was able to lock the front door. if you want to pass along to the fire... it was definitely involved before this happened. just so they know. >> reporter: class d can refer to a category of drugs,

k to clear, police are not linking any drugs to this incident. we were looking for clarification for this last transmission. so far, police here have not given any comment about this incident. the patriots, though, did comment about the situation, telling 7 news, "chandler jones was admitted to the hospital sunday and released that day. he reported to work on time monday morning and has participated in all meetings and practices since then." reporters in the locker room say that jones is not at his locker. that is not to say he isn't at gillette, though. nicole oliverio, 7 news. >> christa: rob gronkowski was not present for tuesday's session after practicing with teammates on monday. it is not clear why he wasn't on the field yesterday. it is unclear how coach bill belichick ended up with a black eye. when he met with reporters yesterday, he was sporting a shiner right there over his left eye.

to both sides. >> reporter: both sides argued evidence should be sealed in a confidentiality agreement. the plaintiff's attorney says he plans to ask cosby and his wife in depositions about sex, infidelity and drug use. the magistrate ruling in favor of limited confidentiality. and also discussing how the new criminal case against cosby out of pennsylvania could affect the timeline of this civil case. we believe that the criminal case has no bearing on the civil case. the civil case has its own issues and proof that needs to be made. this has nothing to do with whether or not mr. cosby is found guilty of charges he has been charged with. >> reporter: one change in the case. the deposition in february has been delayed. instead, mrs. cosby will be deposed.

tossed. >> christa: police make an arrest in a deadly crash in roslindale. a car hit an 88-year-old woman walking on washington street. she was rushed to the hospital and sadly, was pronounced dead. the 24-year-old driver had been charged with motor vehicle homicide. fast new hampshire state police, they are searching for the driver who slammed into a trooper's cruiser and then police say a track or the-trailer was speeding on route 89 in warner. couldn't slow down. then slammed into the cruiser. the trooper was treated for minor injuries. >> sarah: a broken navigational system being blamed for a situation that had ten u.s. sailors held in iran. they sailed into trouble when their two navy ships entered iranian waters. nancy chen is in the newsroom with the very latest. >> nancy: u.s. officials say there is no indication they were hurt during their captivity. welcome news after this

wind the story this afternoon. yesterday, the snow moved on through. close to three inches in worcester up into pepperell as well. boston, just three-tenths of an inch of snow. just away from the city, downtown along the coastline, you get back into arlington. we had close to two inches of snow. that snow still out there. it is not melting any time soon. you saw one, two, three inches of snow. as we have had cold air locked in place. 29 in boston. the story has been the wind over the last several hours. sustained wind. 28 miles an hour in worcester. 29 in boston. we have seen gusts exceeding 50 at times and recently, a 47-mile-per-hour gust in the city of boston. we will be battling that through the afternoon. had a couple of flurries across western massachusetts. that is coming down-wind of lake ontario. although central massachusetts may catch a flurry or two. the story continues to be the wind and the cold under a mix of sun and clouds. a couple of scattered clouds in the city of boston.

any cold air we have had in place is retreating. mild air works in from the southwest. that will set the stage as this coastal low takes over saturday morning. and draws moisture back into southern new england. to provide us with a cold rain for a lot of us. even out through 495. the higher terrain of perhaps southwestern new hampshire, out in the berkshires. the hills. may see a little bit of wet snow. now, the storm is quicker i'm pulling this out in the afternoon. will shut off in time for kickoff. we are going to go dry at kickoff at gillette. there may be a damp tail-gate out there with lingering drizzle or light rain tampering off in the tail-gate hours. again, this storm, rain for most of us. the gusty wind developing along the coastline. temperatures if foxboro in the afternoon, ranging from near 40 but sliding back into the upper 0's. eventually, into the mid-0's by the time we get through the game. the rest of the weekend right now features cold weather working in. there will be a secondary
