tomorrow, possibly up to six inches in localized areas. look ahead, this slides out. i think it tapers off by 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning. before sliding out to sea, we're in for more of the banding and heavier snowfall for the north shore as well. another one of those bull's eyes that we were talking about earlier. still in for the potential of a stray snow shower to a snow squall in some spots that could pop up reduced visibilities and drop a quick inch or two in some locations. generally speaking, sticking with the one to two inches through worchester county. and watching out for plymouth there, five-plus inches not out of the question. more details on this and our up in a few minutes . >> all right. thank you. good advice, too, give yourself plenty of extra time to head into work tomorrow, because

a terrifying attack in chelsea. a woman, beaten, robbed and stabbed by three men. kelli o'hara live now in chelsea with the latest on this terrifying attack. kelly. >> good evening, liz this neighborhood is on edge tonight. >> i rarely go out at night. >> things are getting worse every day. it's crazy. you can't even leave your house when it dark out. >> reporter: people here scared for their safety after a vey -- violent attack on a young woman walking home. >> i feel like have i to be extra careful because this happened. i feel bad for the woman, too, she must be in a lot of pain and scared to death now. >> reporter: karen padilla's land lady heard the entire thing >> she didn't know what direction it was coming from. >> reporter: chelsea police

on the street saturday night when out of nowhere three men beat her up, slashed her and took her money. >> reporter: a city councilman for the area is outraged by the attack. he says part of the problem is the lack of lights and security on the street, and says something needs to change so an attack like th this one doesn't happen again >> there's only one light on the whole lane. no lights. >> reporter: unacceptable? >> yeah. we wants lights. we want lights. where's the lights? it's very dangerous. >> we live in the area. we're worried about it. we want to see the people live in a safe place. >> reporter: and that young woman is alive. she's at the hospital recovering from her injuries. anyone with information as to who these men are are urged to call the police immediately. in chelsea tonight, kelli o'hara, 7 news night team. >> a man is homeward bound, released from custody in iran after being held captive for

he spent the last 40 days in an iranian prison. it's unclear y his family is estatice was freed on saturday along with four other americans >> we're overjoyed he's out and coming home soon. couldn't be happier. >> it's been difficult, but we've had a lot of support from friends and family members. we were able to get through it. >> he was not part of the negotiated prisoner swap between the u.s. and iran but was freed at the same time as the other prisoners. >> after an alarming attack in their own yard, the family says they saw two men beating their dog with a stick. they say the injuries were so bad that their dog had to be rushed to the vet. the night team is live in rutland with what the family is saying tonight. >> reporter: well this dog is on the road to recovery now, but its family is looking for answers. >> i'm just glad that my dog is a live today.

have their dog, abby home sunday evening, after a brutal beating the day before. >> they have in heart. >> reporter: alexis says her dog was attacked by two men in the front yard of her home, using a stick to abuse her >> it makes me stick to my stomach to even think somebody would do that to my dog. >> reporter: alexis says her friend heard the dog's barking on saturday. when he ran out, he says the two men took off in a black sedan shouting racial slurs. abbey suffered serious wounds bruising. skin damage as well. it was a very severe beating. >> reporter: so severe that abbey was immediately rushed to an emergency vet. >> originally her eye was swollen shut. her eye. if you look at her face closely she has the wounds on her face. >> reporter: animal control believes this was a tar getted

at 9:00 on a sunday night in the middle of a holiday weekend, you had many choices besides watching the democratic debate. and my guess is you took them. at this point in the campaign the democrats hard not to miss debates are hurting their party and their candidates. whoever watched saw bernie sanders win. he aggressively walked the line between passion and anger and dominated the debate. even if you don't agree with him, don't you believe he believes everything he says? that's the definition of integrity. it's hard for hillary clinton to lose the debate. she's always well prepared. and that's where clinton fell short and lost this debate. donald trump would say she had low energy and i'd agree. president obama was not on the stage but he was certainly in the air, and now he may want an air freshener. because the president lost this debate, too. clinton defended him but sanders

it's amazing to know we can make change and spread this all over the world. >> reporter: one woman and her daughter coming from more than 40 minutes away. >> it's to stay strong and continue to fight. we hold a special place for him in our heart. >> i think i'll be really happy that everyone knows about him. >> reporter: the crowd will be spelling out the now famous hashtag d strong. the photoshoot on the shore organized by a rhode island photographer who put the word out on facebook and almost 3,000 people showed up. >> if this distracts him for a little bit and makes him happy all good. >> reporter: a drone capturing the message from above, little dorian stopped by earlier but was not up to staying for the final photo shoot but he certainly knows and appreciates what's been done in his honor. together. there's a lot of darkness in the world, and i think it shows a lot of light.

it's one of the places in plymouth county have i been watching closely. you get up to land only an inch there. we could double that by morning. snow showers still with us at this point. but for most of us, i venture to say most, it's really light snow showers. it's flurries. and for some places like redding we're seeing the more, moderate steady snowfall. i wouldn't go so far as to say heavy but it will be where we see our heaviest snow fall along the shout shore. here's the two systems. one well off over the fishes for us. but energy is a trade between the arctic front to our west, and as these two interact we get extra converge anxious and lift

then this pushes off and rotates into the north shore. most of the action is done by 6:00, 7:00 in the morning. then we just run the risk of maybe a brief snow shower that passes through our perhaps a snow squall. that looks most likely for western massachusetts, but still a potential for us. two to inch inches, north shore through the south shore. heres the bull's eye in plymouth county. as i mentioned middleborough up to 3.5 inches of snowfall. here's the colder air rushing in for us. 11 in buffalo. plan for it feel much chillier because the winds kick in 21 to 27 into the afternoon and colder on tuesday. so as the kids head back out to the bus stop it will be biting and bitter. wind gusts that pick up for us
