know right now. >> reporter: mbta police station say this shooting actually started on a moving train just as it was pulling into the maverick t. station here in east boston. the whole thing ended with two gunshot victims lying on the platform inside the station. a shooting inside the maverick t. station in east boston. police say it started with an altcation between two men on a train as it was pulling into the station. at some point in time, the confrontation turned physical. where at one point one male pulled out a firearm and fired at least two rounds at the victim striking him. the fight then spilled on to the platform as the train pulled into maverick square t. station. at some point in time a second victim his involvement at this point we do not know was also struck. >> reporter: police say

charlie card. as the train was coming in doors opened. people were trying to run back on the train to get disbursing. >> reporter: witnesses say the scene quickly turned chaotic. >> as soon as i saw the doors open that's when you heard gunshots. people were trying to run back out an people were trying to run back in. >> we heard one gunshot. everybody got down. there was two guys on the platform. >> reporter: suspect ran away. the t. station was immediately shut down and passengers were bussed from the station as police began their investigation. what went through your mind when all this was happening? >> get out of there right away. i ran right upstairs and got out. >> reporter: as you can see the maverick t. station has reopened. passengers are coming and going now but there is lots of mbta police officers here on the scene. the two men who were shot 29 and 43 years old, were

what we're told are nonlife threatening injuries. police are still searching for the suspect who ran away from the t. station here. they'll only describe the suspect as a man. latest live from east boston i'm byron barnett, news. >> adam: a man convicted for his role in a crash on the arborway in 2013 that left two people paralyzed. let's get to brandon gunnoe live in brighton where the verdict came down. >> reporter: that's right. it took one day for the jury to reach a verdict. this is after about three days of testimony. we could see the video, 20-year-old nicolas podopolos has been found guilty after a crash that left two people paralyzed. hi can be seen in court. cash crash. sentencing is scheduled for next month. this happened in september 2013 on the arborway in jamaica plain.

immediatian speeding and crashed into a truck. three other kids were in his car. a 14-year-old was seriously injured after being ejected. a 33-year-old man, a father of three in the other truck was paralyzed from the accident and can longer eat or move on his own. the 14-year-old who was in the other car was seriously injured. he was also paralyzed in the accident. the two other teenagers in the s.u.v. were not hurt as badly as well as the other man in the truck. we are told nicholas popodopolos sentencing is set for february. he faces up to two years in prison. the latest live in brighton, brandon gunnoe, 7 news. >> kim: breaking news from the florida state supreme court. about the fate of former f.b.i. agent john connolly. for that let's go to cheryl fiandaca. >> reporter: john connolly the disgraced exf.b.i. agent will now spend the rest of his life in prison. that is likely.

florida declined to hear connolly's appeal saying the court won't take the case. he faces a minimum of an additional 17 years in prison. connolly was convicted in 2002 of helping bulger's winter hill gang avoid investigations. he spend ten years in prison on that charge. once he finished that sentence he was convicted in the killing of the president operation. the former f.b.i. agent was prison. he has mounted several appeals in the case and legal experts say his appeal to the florida supreme court was his last hope. again the court deciding today it will not hear his case. in the newsroom, i'm cheryl fiandaca. >> adam: also breaking isis confirming that jihady john is dead. they say he was killed in an air strike last year. he was seen in several of the execution videos including one that showed the brutal murder of journalist james foley.

will update you when more information becomes available. >> kim: also on 7 bone chilling out there today. wicked winds, too, nation hard to be outside. without a hat and gloves. the frigate feeling should subside tomorrow. >> adam: of course we're all waiting to learn more about a possible weekend storm. meteorologist jeremy reiner is here with more. >> reporter: i can't wait to learn as well. 20s and 30s those are the winds gusting 25, 35, wind chills down to the single numbers. it feels like 7 in boston, worcester feels like 1. you have a cold evening. the wind is with us for the next couple of hours and the it'll fade away. now the storm where is it? it's just now getting to the west coast which has made the forecasting of the storm very challenging because the information that goes into our weather models it's in the as good when it's over the ocean as opposed to when it's over the land. the storm will move ashore west coast which will help

but these are the possible scenarios that we talk about. there will be plenty of cold air in new england through the weekend. a storm will form. that much we're confident of. and it'll move through the middle atlantic states friday and during the day on saturday. then the challenge is which tract does it take. if it takes track one it would be up to new england. that would be a significant storm for southern new england. we would be talking several inches of snow as well as high winds and combining with the astronomical tides could be a coastal flood track. track two would put us on the northern edge of the storm. also reduce the chance of any significant coastal flooding because the wind will be focused farther south. i'm leaning toward track 2. track 1 is still an objection, we'll get closer to the weekend and we'll be able to pick and choose which track we go to. we'll watch it for you. >> adam: get the latest on the weather headed our way

7 mobile and tablet app. >> kim: following a developing story right now, the f.b.i. joining the investigation into bomb threats made against schools across the region. less than one week. it was back on friday when someone made threats to schools in a new mexico of cities and downs -- numbers of cities and towns across massachusetts. today more than a dozen schools impacted by the threats. arlington, billerica groton and plymouth among them. steve cooper has more as police try to figure out who is responsible. >> reporter: what a disruptive day this turned out to be here not just here at arlington high school but several other schools across the state bringing the bomb squad and specially trained dogs looking for devices. tonight as you mentioned federal agents are searching for a suspect. would do that. joke about. >> reporter: after the

out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons following main office. >> the threat threatened for backpacks explode in the surviving students exiting the building would be shot. >> reporter: it was that threat that led to the school being evacuated before the superintendent cancelled classes for the rest of the day. >> we made the decision to caution. received threats around the state including newton north high and the groton dunstable middle school. that is on top of the 7 others that received threats last. >> there is probably a very low probability of there being anything serious but you never know. so you are a little cautious for the kids' sake and for the teachers and staff. >> reporter: local and state police along with the f.b.i. are investigating. prompting us to wonder if arlington's police chief had a message to the person behind the threats. >> i look forward to meeting you.

found at any of the schools and the hope is things will go smoother tomorrow but keep in mind this investigation right now is far from over. the all clear here in article ton and all the schools. the hope is kids will feel safe where they return here in the morning. live in arlington tonight, steve coop e 7 news. >> anchor: breaking news from the patriots. the season is over for line becomer mayo, reports saying that the team has put him on injured reserve. mayo got hurt in the game against the kansas city chiefs over the weekend. >> adam: let's get to joe amorosino with more. >> reporter: the patriots linebacker will be tested now with multiple reports saying mayo is down for the season with a shoulder injury. this is not the mayo of old hosts a tackling machine. he was a reserve this year but with collins getting nicked up against the chiefs as well the patriots is going to take a hit and be tested. the patriots have the advantage at quarterback.

>> announcer: now 7 weather with meteorologist jeremy reiner. >> reporter: all right. cold and windy conditions right now. that is the case overnight tonight. we hold on to the cold for the remainder of the week. we'll get rid of the wind. then we focus our attention on a potential storm this weekend. saturday evening, saturday night and sunday morning. that would be the possible timeline that it would bother you. we'll get into that in a second. outside we've winds gusting 30, 35 miles an hour, that will fade away. big storm up in even canada again rating all of the wind. that fades away. our potential storm is just now getting to the west coat. that is critical because the weather information that we put into the computer models

their thing we have much more data when the storms are over land versus over the ocean. you have to rely on satellite and the occasional shift in the -- in the a lot out there right now. once the storm moves ashore later on we'll have all this copyios amounts of data to throw into the weather model and see what they do. there are signs that the trend is a little farther south than we're thinking a day or two ago, the jet stream that's going to look like this. when the jet stream creates a circle the cut off, the storm will have a tendency to cut off from the rest of itself and not be very friendly and not share its moisture with locations north. last year when we had our first of three blizzards. the first one which started the blitz that will cut off that will l. it's much closer to new england. much closer to us. this go around it's going to be farther away. so the thinking right now is that the stripe of the heaviest snow will be from the middle atlantic states d.c.

perhaps around net row new york city and it might get up to the south coast portions of the south shore and the cape but i'm thinking the heaviest is probably too far away for the city of not. leaning more towards track 2 than track 1. blow. the snowfall amounts might lead to something like we dealt with sunday night and monday monday. that type of snow would be track one. track would would be talking a foot or more. a better idea on that track tomorrow and certainly on thursday but again if you don't like snow, route for track 2. that is what i'm leaning to. i still have a snow flake in there on saturday. there is going to be some snow saturday evening and sunday morning. until then it's about the cold being bold. see you at 5:30. >> adam: still ahead on 7 a story of survival. why doctors refuse to give up hope for a man found
