knocking down some of the hot spots. but this was pretty dramatic scene with dozens of residents scrambling to get out. let's go to sky 7 hd over this fast-moving... this was a four-alarm fire here on eleanor street in chelsea this morning. where the situation, as you mentioned, only intensified when firefighters learned that a three-year-old boy was spotted up on a fourth-floor balcony all alone. now, he was taken out of the building by firefighters. we are told that he is doing okay this afternoon. also, crews from several surrounding communities responded to the fire here. this was a four-alarmer, as we mentioned. bringing dozens of firefighters from all over the area. there are 24 units in this apartment building. we are told by the deputy fire chief, as many as 60 to 100 residents live inside the building. everyone has been accounted for at this point. it is deputy fire chief telling us a short time ago, how they were able to rescue >> the three-year-old child

fire on the fourth floor, a neighbor spotted him in the rear of the building on a our crews were able to get to him, and i believe there was an occupant also that was trying to get him out of the building. basically, he took them out through the interior before the fire actually spread to >> reporter: and again, the good news that the hour. that toddler is doing okay. again, a lot of the people around here who live in the building standing around, anxious to learn whether or not they are able to get back in the building to grab some possessions or not. right now, they are still trying to tally up all the damage. we do know that two firefighters were injured fighting this fire here this morning. including one who was taken to mass. general hospital to get checked out. we know the investigation is ongoing right now. the district chief telling us that it appears the fire started in a third-floor apartment unit. they don't know why right now. that investigation is ongoing as we speak.

a plain old rain at this the winds becoming active. certainly, across southeastern massachusetts. where we have the warm air gusting 25-30 miles an hour. we will likely see some gusts 0-40 late this afternoon, through the evening hours. wind speeds not quite as strong farther off to the north and west. of course, we have had some rain in there certainly, across northern massachusetts and southern new hampshire. a couple of spot showers north and west of boston. getting ready to move into plays like arlington, winchester. that stretches back into sudbury and natick. that will slide off to the east real quick. in fact, it is already through sudbury and back into the 495 belt. close to hopkinton. mainly dry right now. we have a wall of showers to the west of us. not particularly heavy. but this line of showers will work through and the rain will become more widespread. by about 2:00 or 3:00 across much of eastern massachusetts. with the exception of perhaps the cape and the islands. you will get your rain. you will get yourain day's end and into the evening hours as we continue to track this wet weather. occasionally, we will get some downpours in here.
