but i think the storm will be able to generate its own cold air as it's passing by so your timeline rain arrives around midnight. rain in boston, rain in plymouth. rain worcester and then between 2:00 and 4:00 am that is when it'll change over to snow. a heavy wet snow and the rain snow line on the city at this time. 7:00 tomorrow morning it's snowing in boston, providence as well as much of southeast mass. the snow line pinned down and it's going to fight the warm air. even down there the cold air does win out and for metro boston the snow temperatures then winds down. how much snow is on the way? that is a shift since yesterday, 5-7 in downtown boston. this will be a heavy wet snow. worsester hills much the same. north much town up to the mere knack valley, as well as route 2 corridor up to

about 5-6 inches of snow. because of the warmer setup the westward track lighter amounts of snow but heavy snow. out on the cape and the islands, 1-2 inches of snow. by early tomorrow morning. >> reporter: state from spring back into winter, what does the ground how long know? we've seen snow but the timing has been better with snow arriving during the weekend. this one right during the friday morning commute. so a really slow go, very tough from 5:00 to about noon things get better in the afternoon but it's going to take sometime to melt off the heavy wet snow that we receive earlier in the day. now we did get a question on social media about the snow ratio. water to snow ratio here with an inch of water how much snow could you get out of this? we don't have the cold temperatures like last year so we're not handing out feet but inches rather of that wet heavy snow which

it's day to day up in new hampshire. here is andy live in man chester to break it down for us. >> reporter: adam, this is what campaigns are about. give and take. movement up and down and momentum. and we see all of them in our newest numbers from the exclusive poll. today's biggest winner marco rubio and hillary clinton. in the republican race trump trumps the field with 36%. down 2 overnight. marco rubio is second with 15%. a gain of 3 points overnight. ted cruz is 3 at 14%, jeb bush is 8 down 1 and john case ick is at 7%, also no change since yesterday. the rest of the republicans are barely hanging on. chris crity gets 5% down a point from yesterday. ben carson 4 up one, karly fiorina 3 and up decided 8% up 2. the tracking poll measures

donald trump is where he has been, on top but for the first time he is dropped in our poll. marco rubio moves up into second place and ted cruz falls back into third place. in the democratic race, hillary clinton can start thinking that clintons and comebacks go together in new hampshire. bernie handers still has a significant lead over clinton, 58-36%, but he is down 3 from yesterday and she is up 4. so look at the direction of the track. there is still a lig gap but it's getting smaller. you see the trend and so do the candidates. they're good for clinton rubio and trump and not very good for anyone else, bernie sanders and trump may win their primaries but both are losing ground right now. lye in new hampshire i'm andy hiller, 7 news. >> adam: all right. the cruz campaign making self stops across new hampshire today. taking some swings at opponents.

of jeremiah oliver a homicide. he disappeared in 2013. his body was found eight months later in a suit kayce off the side of a highway in april of 2014679 the boy's mother is already in custody facing charges including kidnapping and assault of a child. her boyfriend is facing 13 charges in connection with the base. boat are due back in court later this month. the investigation in -- of the case will continue. >> kim: the principal of arlington catholic high school is on administrative leave. the school is investigating a complaint about something that may have happened during a recent saturday detention in arlington catholic. they're not saying anything specific about the allegations but the principal will be on leave pending the outcome of the investigation. >> adam: a brockton high school student crossing in danger. a student was hit by a truck walking to school this morning. you can see the damage to the front of the chevy pickup truck.

jaffrey and orange lower 40s that is the leading edge of slightly cooler air that is working into southern new england. here is the beginning of the storm if you will. rain down through the island, this ebbs extend down the eastern seaboard, this is the weather system that moves up to southern new england then through the day tomorrow. changes over to snow. changes over to snow before sun rice tomorrow morning, from this storm system here it was able to latch on to this front and not allow it to move away from new england. so it's like the low is playing catchup if you will or tug of war. it's going to catch up with another storm system up in canada. and in doing so, fouls up our friday. rainy just after midnight then we do see the rain change over to snow between 2:00 and 4:00. first north and west of boston then into the city of boston probably around 5:00, 6:00 am. then that the rain snow line works down the south shore. plymouth carver, middleboro,

this is a challenging portion of the forecast because the rain wants to hold on. but the models are saying it's going to flip over to snow easy. but that michelle obama something that never materializes then the cole air does win out on the cape and the islands. metro boston snowing steadily all morning, poor travel conditions tomorrow morning, it has been a while since we had a week day commute with this headache shaping up because we've had a couple of storms thus far but one was on a saturday night. most recent but everyone is working and going to school tomorrow. this is the amount of snow on the way. 5-7 inches of snow around the metro and south of together down to the south coast 2-5 inches of snow. on the cape a couple of inches of slushy wet snow then as you come back off the cape then work up through south shore pembroke to plymouth about 4, 5, 6 inches of snow. poor travel especially from

it does improve into the afternoon hours. the other concern with the snow is that it's not a light and fluffy snow. it's relatively mild snow. so that could lead to scattered power outages. could so it may not be a bad idea to keep the mobile devises plugged in. we met the snow on saturday but there will be plenty to keep the kids sledding and skiing. watching the threat of perhaps more snow next monday night and tuesday. see you at 5:30. >> kim: ahead on 7 she raced her way through seven continents and today she received a warm welcome
