and the snow is going to stick around through the day and the evening. and our weather track is watching it closely, gerly rhiner. >> in boston, that continues through the rest of the morning hours and through much of the afternoon. winding down at 4:00 p.m. and patchy lighter snow continuing in the overnight hours, but that will begin to subside after midnight, especially after 2 a.m. and it's all said and done. the high tide coming up in the next 15-30 minutes, so as we watch that, we have strong normal winds, cold as well. temps in boston, 19. showing the bands of snow, we have breaks with the steadier snow. one now, metro west down the i-94 corridor in providence. worcester, east of that line and the steadier snow on the south shore. we have the bands marching north and west. anything under a mile considered

barely snowing, nashua and jaffrey, patchy clouds, and light snow this afternoon. but because the storm is a glancing blow, it's pretty much across southeast mass. continuing in the afternoon, and then it begins to wind down mid to late evening, and then wrapped up in the morning, light clouds, with a couple of flurries possible. boston metro, 5-9 inches of snow, and this will carry us through tomorrow morning. so it takes us all night do get to the numbers. the city, 7 inches of snow, made a little change. we decided to pull the threat of a foot of snow all the way down to the water and the edge. thalamus and hyanis, east of there, but boston, 5-9 inches of snow by tomorrow morning.

buzzards day and over the coastal flooding along the south shore and the cape. the high tide coming in 20 minutes away. we have had many reports of flooding, down to marshfield and this will continue over the next couple of hours until you can push the water offshore. and at least it goes back out with the tide. eventually the winds turning around at the northwest. minor coastal flooding in boston to the north shore. winds very active, plenty of gusts, 5-60 miles per hour. and that will continue in the early afternoon, and 61 mile-per-hour wind gusts early this morning. coming in at 57. snow totals coming in. a few inches of snow, and these numbers will go up quickly now that they're under the bands of heavier snow down to the cape and the southern county. the combination of the snow and the strong winds will likely create scattered power outages

look at the cold air, down to 19 in boston, and this is a drier snow, not easier to push around versus the snow on friday. >> okay, chris, lengths check the roads. the traffic tracker in quincy, and those roads are looking snow covered. >> yes, not only snow covered here, but as you see coming up in a little bit, we're dealing with severe flooding right here in downtown quincy. in fact, both sides of this roadway, you can see very deep water here, and the police have shut down what's called enterprise drive. so this is one of the problems that you end up with you have this much snow. the drains get blocked with more water just over here. with problems with flooding as well. behind the wheel, 7 news. >> that car in front of you having issues with those

obviously something to keep an eye on throughout the day. but strong winds also a major storyline here. all eyes are on the coast as the high tide moves in. and victoria is live. >> we were over by the lighthouse, and we had to move away from that area. the roads are flooded and we closed the roads down here. we're in an area where we get quite a spill over as it approaches away from high tide. they're asking in sichuate that anyone who dust need to be in the area, stay away. the seawall is nothing for these waves, and people's basements are going to flood.

people may lose their heat. it's a tricky situation. some were riding the storm out. one man said five more minutes, and he's out of here, he doesn't want to take any chances. anyone who has lived here knows in year's past that it can get really bad. the snow didn't fall in sichuate until early in the morning. it's flooding the street. and it's a high tide situation. so in the 20 minutes until we get to high tide, and the next hour after, we'll continue to flooding. again, the roads out by the lighthouse, they're shut down, except for emergency personnel. and the road hadn't me. they're allowing cars to go down, but if you see standing water and a vehicle, you don't want to drive through, because you don't know how deep it is
