our live interactive radar. head to whdh.com and 7 news mobile and tablet apps. first let's take to you waim edge where a serious car crash sent three people in the hospital. police tell us two cars collided there on washington street sending one of them into a pedestrian and that man suffered life-threatening injuries. witnesses say it is the worst crash they've ever seen in that area. looked like a war zone. it looked pretty bad. it hit the pedestrian, through him up on the van's window and knocked him over and landed on the ground. >> police are still trying to figure out and we're following breaking news, state senator brian joyce says he will not it be running for reelections. his office were raided by the fbi and irs last week in canton. they reportedly investigating his relationship was people in his district. joyce tweeted out a statement that reads in part i've worked hard

results while always abiding by the rule. i will continue hard to work for milton and all of the district but will not seek reelections. to breaking news out of wayland. a dangerous drive sends a police officer to the hospital. the police officer was directing traffic at this construction site when the car refused to stop, hit the officer and dragged her for a number of feet down the road. the 20-year-old driver is facing surgeon i couldn't say charges now. in foxboro a tractor trailer rolled over an 93 north. this is exit 6 b where police shut down the offramp. there are emergency crews there, serious damage to the truck but no word yet on any injuries. also on 7 a hover board proves to hot to handle for a chyle m ford boy and it sparks and spreads flames inside his home. we're hearing the paniced 911 call if his sister.

to the boy. >>reporter: owen was inside the house here and cruising around on his hover board he got for christmas when all of a sudden out of no where there was smoke and flames. >> i was like oh, my gosh and i jumped off really quick. >>reporter: with all the poise in the world, 11-year-old owen has homework to do but he did take a brief break after school to recount his harrowing ordeal last night. all of a sudden it began smoking and then burst into flames. >> it just started smoking. it just like -- i don't know how to explain it. it just started smoking so i obviously got off and then maybe a couple seconds later it burst into flames. >>reporter: at 17 his older

all right. doppler radar showing snow crawling up into massachusetts. it's been a slow process with some patches of

snow into norwood very lightly. on an off light snow in hanover. steadier snow rhode island and connecticut for a few hours now. it's had a hard time accumulating on the roads because the temps have been in the upper 30s. this is our only window of opportunity, if you will, to be dealt with any kind of winter precipitation, plow operators. and as we work toward midnight tonight and shortly thereafter, it changes over to rain and freezing rain. here you go, your storm time line already approaching midnight and then shortly after this item we'll see the snow flip over to rain easily along the coastline. even in those locations for a few hours after midnight tonight, it will take on the form of some freezing rain and then freezing drizzle. your morning commute features rain for just about everyone. colder pockets merrimac valley early tomorrow morning but even up in those locations it's tomorrow morning.
