trump. florida senator marco rubio know wins yet. he might get minnesota for first within tonight. he still has grabbed a bunch of delegates with some especially in virginia, which is place where he nearly matched trump. here speaking to home town rally in miami rubio says his attacks on trump are making a difference. policies. we're seeing and state after state his numbers coming down. our numbers going up. [ cheering ] >> and two weeks from tonight right here in florida, we are going to a send a message loud and clear. >> well, so now you've got donald trump with many wins tonight. and wins spread around the rest of the field just like trump likes it. we're live in newsroom dan hausle 7 news. breaking news out of massachusetts and nbc news pro equity jing hillary clinton will win massachusetts for the primary for the democrats.
11:13 pm
precincts reporting. so a tight race but again hillary clinton the projected winner. clinton and bernie sanders already talking about tonight's early results. for that's let's go to kimberly bookman so she can share what they were saith tonight. this really has nail biter all night long. we've watching the results come in here in massachusetts. and now with this latest win for hillary clinton, she continues to lead the way. the senator from vermont thakings his home state for giving his first win of this super tuesday. it is good to be home. as returns come in sanders also collects oklahoma while his rival second terry hillary clinton stacks up six other states. >> at the end of tonight, 15 states will have voted 35 states remain. and let me assure you, that we are going to take our fight to every one of those states. but his attention squarely on the future.

different that is from the gop front runner. do not allow the donald trumps of the world to divide us up. clinton talks to supporters in florida while never mentioning trump by name she goes right after him as well. >> america never stopped being great. we have to make america whole. after many states in south with large minority populations including arkansas, where she was once first lady, clinton talks about her strategy going forward. instead of building walls we're going to breakdown barriers. the stakes in this election have never been higher. and the rhetoric we're hearing on the other side has never been lower. now clinton mentioned president obama three times while speaking hoping to an appeal to his supporters she also brought up her visit to boston old meeting house on monday and made an appeal for donations. live in control room kimberly bookman, 7 news night team. all right so we've established big night forefront runners how
11:15 pm
wins for donald trump and hillary clinton moving forward now? andy hiller joins us no to you breakdown early results. watching all returns come in i kept think about something bernie sanders said this evening this campaign is no the about electing a president it's about transforming america. and tonight america was politically transformed. you can't miss the republican change, but the democrats are changing too. tonight for all intents and purposes donald trump completed his hostile take over of the gop. ted cruz got texas and oklahoma, marco rubio may win minnesota and florida two weeks from tonight, but given trumping super, super tuesday, the donald is now in the waiting room for the gop nomination. which leaves republican establishment without a candidate who proven able to beat trump nationally. so the only way left for the party to block trump is a brokered convention that would split it even further apart.
11:16 pm
donald trump is the new face of the grand old party. for democrats hillary clinton is now the nominee in waiting. no matter how long bernie sanders stays in the race. but sanders campaign has exposed clinton's weaknesses. particularly among young voters and some women. to them she represents the old way, and they wanted something new too. now the question is, how enthusiastically will sanders supporters back hillary clinton in november. my guess is not very. and here's another guess, if it does turn out to be clinton versus trump in the general election, then we're headed for nastiest campaign we've ever seen. the mother of nasty campaigns. i know we've seen dirty before, but nothing like we're going to see. live in the room i'm andy hiller. all right we'll all be watching right now we're watching where delegate count stands. here's look at the numbers on
11:17 pm
with 221, ted cruz with 69, and marco rubio has 41. you need 1236 to win the republican nomination. on the democratic side hillary clinton has 883 delegates now to bernie sanders's 232. and you can see there on the bottom of the screen it takes 2382 delegates for a democrat to win. here in massachusetts, former president bill clinton visited polls in west roxbury and new bedford today helping hillary and we did receive dozens of emails from concerned voters about the former president being too close to polling stations. they said it made it difficult to vote in new bedford. so we reached out to secretary of state and he tells us that the problem in ned bedford was parking no one had trouble voting& that former president election laws. stay with 7 news on air and online for latest voice your choice coverage. you can all get updates at www.whdh.com and seven news
