set his home on fire. >> sarah: now he is facing arson charges. john cuoco live now in lynn with the very latest. >> reporter: this suspect seemed proud. like this was some sort of accomplishment. he was arrested over the weekend. tomthy brosnan told police he intentionally set his home on lyndon avenue on fire. police reported brosnan was laughing and making jokes while they arrested him. brosnan told police he poured gasoline in the garage and throughout the house. in he wanted to watch his house burn, saying things like "look at it go. isn't it the most beautiful thing ever." allegedly told pols wife was moving in the next day. and police say it appeared that brosnan was also drinkin when they arrested him on saturday. we are live in lynn, 7 news. >> christa: all right, john. thank you. changes coming to summer camp 7d boy died last week in south

sure a tragedy like this never happens again. let's go to victoria warren with more. flowers and teddy bears at the curley community center. the south boston, doors open. instead of meeting with children, they are meeting with city officials. >> when i spoke with the father, one thing he did say is that if something positive could come of his death, it would be good for the city. out of that conversation with 7-year-old kaiser summer program run by the center for youth and families. kaiser went missing from the summer program last week. his body found in the water hours later. the program's commissioner going over new rules, including the counselors taking a head-count every hour. all kids going into the ocean will wear life preservers. they are increasing staffing levels. the youngest children will have two counselors for every ten children. and they promise to get 34

that provision is o'first of its kind, by the way. supporters of the bill say women right now earn 82 cents on the dollar compared to a man. again, the governor set to sign this bill this afternoon. here at the statehouse, it would take effect in january of 2018. tlooift statehouse, jennifer eagan, 7 news. fire in malden. you can see that fire tore through through the roof of the home on salem street. no word yet on any injuries or what caused the fire. firefighters also on the scene of a huge fire in somerset this morning. the fire started just before 2:00 this morning. on clearview avenue. the second time that there has been a fire at that home this year. there are no reported injuries. crews are trying to figure out what caused the fire. the search continues for a

>> christa: this story will absolutely take your breath away. a sky-diver making history with this death-defying jump in california. it is impressive in and of itself. to dive 25,000 feet out of a plane. but then you don't have a parachute. you continue to have a wing suit. then you go into that net. he fell into this 100-square- completely went without a hitch. and gets hugs all around from the folks on the ground. including his wife who also happens to jump as well. like he does. he kind of lands right there on the corner. makes your heart stop, doesn't it? >> sarah: yeah. he must have been really confident. they must have done a lot of like, experiments. testing to make sure he would land in that netting. all right. anyway, speaking of which, a live look outside at boston.

>> danielle: it is a muggy monday. we have seen a few of these now. this is kind of a little pattern that we are in. we are watching for scattered showers today, too. into tomorrow morning. guess what? sunshine returns as we head into the middle of the week. by the end of the week, our temperatures are actually going to climb back into the 90's. so if you want those 90's back, you are going to get them. you have to wait a few days. currently, outside, in the low 70's in boston. 76 out along cape. 70 degrees, the temperature in worcester. these temperatures are we should be in the low 80's this time of year. we are a little bit below average. also i want to talk about july. as we head into august. july, 2016. officially, the eighth driest on record. we can't even pick up an inch of rain in boston. on average, we should get to about 3.5 inches of rain in july. didn't even get to an inch. we certainly do need the rain. we are keeping an eye on some scattered now out there as well.

methuen. some light showers. the majority of the moisture is out towards new york. and notice, it is tracking east and moving through western new york through albany. because of that, i do think the best chance for scattered showers for today will be across central and western massachusetts. keep the umbrella handy until tomorrow morning. then as we head into tomorrow afternoon, you will notice some changes. so this front that's been bringing us the this gloomy weather, both yesterday today is going to start to move off-shore. high pressure is going to help that happen. high pressure will start to dip south from northern new england. as we head into tomorrow afternoon. and this will help bring the sunshine back. and then those 8's will return as we head into wednesday. although we do need any rain that we can get. severe drought still stretches from central massachusetts up into southern new hampshire here. so we certainly do need the rain. we will keep the chance for scattered showers. becoming more isolated.

public school fountains and faucets. many parents are outraged with their children's safe any jeopardy. signs of a water crisis at portland public schools. water fountains turned off. bottled water handed out. for parents and teachers, outrage. when tests leaked to a local newspaper show lead levels above the e.p.a. standards. >> we have been drinking gallons of we didn't know. >> clearly, it starts with the superintendent. report tt superintendent announced her early retirement the same day an independent investigation found the district failed to provide clean drinking water to students and staff. now there are high lead levels at at least 75 portland public schools. the federal standard for lead in drinking water is 15 parts per billion.
