custody. their gps sent them into the gun fire. >> anchor: the driver throwing it into reverse. kelly o'hara with more on this close call. >> reporter: it's a sight and sound no one wants to hear. a gun being fired feet away. saturday afternoon that's exactly what happened to one couple when their gps led them down the wrong road in roxbury. you can see the men running and shooting at each something that doesn't make police commissioner bill evans happy. >> this particular incident is troubling and hopefully we get to the bottom of it. >> reporter: and he wants to know who was involved. >> we're working on the video. we have it out to every officer. we're looking for the identities of these 2. >> reporter: as for the people who live around here they say it's why many people are afraid to open their doors and look out their window.

to the leg. like they say it is what it is. >> being here for a bunch of years. >> scared to open their door. >> when i'm in the house i close and lock my door. i hear the sounds but i don't run to the windows to see and look. not at all. >> reporter: kelly o'hara 7 news. >> anchor: on to the developing story in the fight against the zika virus. issuing a new warning for pregnant women. expecting not to travel to a certain part of miami. there are 10 new cases in that state all likely transmitted by mosquitos. >> anchor: that brings the total number of infections up to 14. >> reporter: and the cdc says pregnant women need to watch out and avoid going to a specific part of miami. 14 cases in that area. now florida's governor says that

square mile neighborhood north of miami. door to door in that area testing residents. governor rick scott asked the centers for disease control to send an emergency response team to help the florida health department to deal with the problem. >> we asked for the response team that will help with collection efforts with lab with mosquito control. and then mosquito boards we're doing and continue the state we will be successful. >> reporter: cdc pregnant women should talk to doctors about exposure. at the breaking news desk ryan schulteis 7 news. >> anchor: 7 news turns to your forecast. the weather clouding up in boston. it was muggy over cast for most of the day in the city and parts outside the city. what are we expecting tonight? jeremy reiner back from vacation

forecast. >> reporter: we have the clouds now. isolated showers. there was a batch through the new hampshire sea coast. it's from a weak weather system that is way out here in northern york state. there are steadier showers even some downpours. as we work through tonight that will drift across southern new england. we hold on to the clouds. risk of beneficial rain. nothing wide spread unfortunately for the drought. after that drifts out of new england we focus on getting the sunshine back into the region. talk about that and the forecast for the week in a few minutes. >> now on 7. the homeowner charged with igniting trouble on the north shore. >> it is suspicious in origin. >> tonight investigators left with burning questions. >> anchor: fire fighters say that home went up in flames in a

on arson charges. kimberly bookman has the details. >> reporter: investigators believe the fire was intentionally set by the homeowner. police say 57 year old timothy brosnon admitted it. >> he stated i did it. i poured gasoline. my wife is moving in tomorrow. >> reporter: during recent divorce proceedings told his wife would live in the house. brosnon set the fire. >> going through a difficult time in his life. the end of a 27 year marriage with 3 beautiful children. >> reporter: he was polite and responsive to police. letting them know on scene that no one was in the house including the family pet.

comes to living breathing things. >> reporter: brosnon appeared to be drinking.laughed as his house went up in flames. his long time friend who says he's never been in trouble before it's hard to believe. >> he's a nice kind man. he would help anywhere, anytime, do anything for you. that's out of character. >> reporter: the suspect is dangerousness hearing on wednesday. his wife took out a restraining order. >> anchor: a hot pursuit in new bedford ending in an arrest this afternoon. police stopped a suspect accused of leading them on a high speed chase. police using the cruisers to block in the suspect's cars you see there. ended in new bedford. state police found weapons in

ran from police in the first place. new video of another chase as police were wrapping up one scene in new bedford cameras catch another police chase racing by. there it is. the video shows as reporters were interviewing witnesses about the first chase sirens in the background and another chase. the car comes racing down the road while police cars after it. >> anchor: crews working to get the suv on its right side. the vehicle over turned on the median between the ramps for the highway there. there it goes. no word on injuries or what caused the crash. >> anchor: sky 7 over the mass pike today after a tractor trailer got stuck in the u-turn lane. police had to close the highway to one lane. it did cause major back ups. it is cleared up now.

cashing in on a string of atm robberies. accused of breaking into hundreds of atms across new england. prosecutors say the men stole cars and phones. phones that were able to trace their location back to the crimes. >> the nights of the break ins these gentleman are disciplined enough to put them in airplane mode. in some cases the turn off during the course of the break in and then turn on on the way home. >> anchor: neither man's face is seen in the surveillance footage. >> anchor: more news at 7 o'clock closing the gap for equal pay rights in massachusetts. governor baker leveling the playing field when it comes to how women are paid. amaka ubaka with more from the

>> reporter: a historic day in massachusetts as governor charlie baker signs the equal pay bill into law. >> this is a good day. better late than never. >> reporter: the law fights against gender discrimination in the work place and gets the state closer to achieving income equality. experts say women make 82 cents on the dollar of what a man makes. >> we would be one of the states in the country to pass legislation to ensure people are paid what they are worth. >> i am shocked. i am shocked that this happened. >> reporter: in 1989 dore obligaty was one of the cafeteria workers arguing that they get paid half as much as men for doing the same work. >> it means so much because of all my fellow workers that i worked with no longer with us.

business. jennifer eagan has the story you saw first on 7. >> reporter: an unexpected encounter captured on camera. this gorilla on all 4s slowly looking around before standing up and leaping against the glass. >> whoa. >> he was fast. it was like lightning. >> reporter: mark shot the video while checking out the exhibit at the franklin park zoo with michelle. >> no one wasan >> reporter: they had been watching okie for 10 minutes. noticing he was communicating with the crowd. >> i said i wish i caught that on video. i started filming. >> reporter: once the gorilla started pounding his chest he knew it wasn't going to be long before okie did something memorable. >> with a huge karate chop. >> whoa. >> it was so loud.
