we will detail that and the rest of the forecast for the week in a few minutes. ; following breaking news at 7 o'clock. an everett police officer accused of attacking his pregnant wife. >> anchor: brandon gunnoe live in everett with details. >> reporter: kim, and adam those court documents show pictures of the officers wife with red hand marks around her wife and all over her arms. she's 7 told police the officer tried to kick her in the stomach. the alleged incident happened sunday night at the couple's home in salsbury. the pictures are grainy from court documents. it shows red marcos her arms and neck where he tried to strangle her. she found out that he had women over at the house while she was away and that upset her.

family and friends come together by the hundreds to say goodbye to 27 year old vanessa marcotte. the jogger found murdered last week. >> very sad. anybody that has to go through this. sad. >> reporter: with a heavy police presence the 2011 bu grad who was living new york and working for google was remembered for her beauty her generous spirit and loving heart. >> every day of the week that was the hall mark of her life. >> reporter: among those in attendants a bus load of coworkers from google. the pain is deep. as police scramble to catch the man who murdered her this day was about vanessa and the collective outpouring of support. >> god's with her. and everyone else is with her. >> reporter: steve cooper 7

students get ready to head back to school in a few weeks boston public schools are facing alarming amount of led in their water. water fountains in 6 buildings have led levels above federal limits. now all drinking fountains are deactivated. students will have access to bottled water coolers instead. this from superintendent tommy chang saying health and well being of our students are top priority at boston public schools. we are committed to ensure the best possible water quality for improving standards for students and staff. >> anchor: she says she told police about a dog left in a hot car over the weekend. when the officers let the dog's owner off with just a warning she lost her cool. >> reporter: found the dog in a

10 to 20 minutes. so she called police. around the same time the dog's owner came back to the car. once the officers arrived they determined the dog was not in danger. told officers to call animal control or fire fighters to access that situation. if they wouldn't arrest the owner they should arrest her. so they did. >> i asked them c department. they refused to. i asked for water. i did give the dog i tried to. the dog was so distressed he didn't take the water. it was going on 20 minutes now. >> reporter: she was arraigned in court this morning and then released. in the newsroom ryan schulteis 7 news. >> anchor: following more news today a suspect who led police on a wild chase is now in

gardener. gardener and westminster police following a white car until it crashed off route 2. after the crash police say the suspect ran. investigators though used police dogs and a state police helicopter as you saw. on a search and they did find him took some hours. he is in custody. brian levrenny they identified as th outstanding warrants on top of the charges he faces today. >> anchor: tragedy on the water after a hyannis man drowns after swimming with his children. they said their father went in the water and never came up. divers found the man rushed him to cape cod hospital where he was pronounced dead. >> throughout my career here we

of. it's a family area. people walk dogs and swim. >> anchor: the drowning victim was found in an area of the pond with a large drop. >> anchor: former patriot star aaron hernandez back in court ahead of his upcoming double murder trial. it's slated for february 13th of 2017. prosecution says it has 300 potential witnesses in this case. today hernandez former friend alexander bradley to identify hernandez as the trigger man. bradley says he was in hernandez car when the former pats player shot and killed 2 men. over an incident in which hernandez is accused of shooting bradley in the eye. prosecutors say hernandez killed

the defense says even though the prosecution has hundreds of witnesses some of their witnesses have changed. hernandez is serving a life sentence for murder. >> anchor: korean war vet and cambridge native ronald sparks remains have been brought back to his home town. his nephew spent the last 11 years working to bring his home. spark's remains kept at a military lab until he was identified. >> 11 years after my dad asked me to find him, we found him. >> his body was interred in hawaii for a while. >> anchor: sparks remains landed in boston today. a procession took him through cambridge ending at a funeral home in articlington.
