right now it's 58 in norwood. 71 in boston. so we have lower humidity and cooler air mass in place and it's mainly dry across much of our area right now. you get back into western new england, western connecticut and even into the hudson valley of new york, there are some showers out there. there may be one or two of these that make the trip near the mass pike, along the mass pike and south this morning. so the main batch stays south, but there have been a couple showers trying the sneak into southern new england. don't be surprised if there is a passing shower t otherwise the weather is quiet throughout the day. the afternoon shower chance should be north and west of 495. even there it will be isolated. warm this afternoon. but warmth with the humanity running on the lower side, so we do enjoy a nice afternoon. not only today but really more dry weather on friday and even into the weekend. more on that forecast coming up. >> sarah: breaking news, two tractor-trailers collide on i-90 east in auburn.

tractor-trailers rear-ended the other. auburn fire rescue says one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. for more on how the roads are looking, let's send it over to danielle gersh with a fast track alert. >> danielle: good morning, everyone. this accident already causing delays of about 24 minutes and not very many of you on the road. you saw those pictures. they did not look good. this happened eastbound on the pike in auburn right at route 290 there. so as the morning progresses, probably going to see those delays get even worse. closer to a couple work crews still out there if you're headed into town on 93 southbound. no issues on route 1678 braintree to boston northbound on the expressway, only about ten minutes. ten minutes routes 3, 24 and 95 all looking good. check those drive times if you're getting ready to head out the door. braintree to boston, northbound on the expressway, 12 minutes into town on the pike from 128. 93 southbound, 128 to the zakim bridge 11 minutes this morning. back to you, guys. >> sarah: and we're following

flight in rio as they're trying to fly home. this is new video of the pair leaving the airport in rio after authorities detained them. jack conger and gunner bentz were two of the swimmers who were allegedly robbed in brazil, but this morning there are questions about their story. >> christa: so this news comes as a british newspaper is reporting that a member of the team of great britain was also out. let's go to 7's nancy chen who has the latest. >> nancy into question. now goad medalist ryan lochte, who claims he and teammates were robbed at gunpoint after a night of partying, is on the defense. he spoke with nbc's matt lauer. i said, "ryan, there are people out here, there is script similar that you made this story up along with these other swimmers to cover up some other form of embarrassing behavior." he stopped me quickly. he strongly denied that, said it's absolutely not the case. i wouldn't make up a story like this, nor would the others.

it makes us look bad. we're victims in this. >> nancy: but now police say they haven't found evidence to support his account. a brazilian judge found contradictions in the swimmers' reports. lochte told the "today show" host that authorities never seemed to question his account. >> he said never during the questioning did they question his truthfulness. as a matter of fact, they seemed to support everything he said, and at one point they said, "thank you," and they congratulating him on his rf >> nancy: in security video obtained by the daily mail online, you see the swimmers returning to the olympic village the morning after they say they were held up. the judge cited this video, ordered the passports of lochte and teammate jimmy feigen be seized. the judge says the men appeared to be joking. they didn't seem to be shaken physically or psychologically. lochte is already back in the states. in his conversation with lauer, he denied he made anything up, but his story has changed.

bush on sunday, bob, he said that's when the guy took the gun, put it to his forehead and cocked it. tonight he said, that's when the guy pointed the gun in my head and cocked. i said, you had said before it was placed on your forehead and cocked. he said, no, that's not exactly what happened. he feels it was more of a traumatic mischaracterization. i think people at home might that's up to people to decide. >> nancy: lochte's teammates were preventing from leaving the country. jack conger and gunner bentz were taken off their flight to the united states and brought in for questions. lochte's lawyer insists he did nothing wrong, something the swimmer reiterated to the "today show" host. >> he said nobody at the time he was talking to law enforcement would say, hey, it would be a great idea if you stick around rio while the investigation unfolds. we high want to talk to you.

keeping an eye out for a peeping tom. women in particular are asked to be careful. jadiann thompson spoke to people in the area who are concerned. >> it's really scary and terrifying. it's a very safe neighborhood. >> jadiann: a neighborhood on watch, someone posting these flyers claiming they've spotted a peeping tom in people's yards for the past few weeks. on marlborough street in the back bay. >> it's the first time i heard of something like this happening around here. i feel like i area. >> jadiann: the flyers saying the person was spotted first a few weekends ago in a yard and then again in that same day if a white ford pick-up truck and more recently outside of a building. a dog-walker says she's out in the neighborhood every night. >> i've been extra cautious lately since seeing the flyers. i think there are a bunch of neighborhood watch people around here and people that keep an eye out for their neighborhood. >> jadiann: boston police have

>> i'll definitely make sure to close curtains and blinds, extra precaution. >> jadiann: boston police say if you see anything, give them a call in the back bay. jadiann thompson, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: new details on a terrifying crash in dorchester that sent three people to the hospital. a father is being called a hero for saving his daughter and a son when they were hit by a car. police say 40-year-old ernesto camach shielded his ten-year-old daughter and their wheelchair-bound friend when a car hit t his daughter and the friend are now out of the hospital while ernesto remains there with severe head injuries. camacho's family is praising him for his sacrifice. >> she said, "he saved my life." he really took one for his family. he's a hell of a father. >> sarah: camacho's family says he's on a respirator. so far no charges have been filed. >> christa: also this morning, lowell police putting a

behind bars. this time investigators say that he was exposing himself to women. here's 7's nick emmons with more. >> i've had it. >> nick: norwood police fed up with a repeat sex offender. 49-year-old chad falcone cuffed and in custody after two women say he exposed himself on tuesday. >> he was wearing a mesh shirt around his waist, and then he lifted it and exposed himself to the women that were there. >> nick: police got an arrest house, he refused to come to the door. when officers made their way inside... >> he was cowering in his weymouth. he's done that before. he goes out and exposes himself to young girls and then he hides in his basement. >> nick: kevin smith, a neighbor, is shocked to hear about a disturbing crime steps from his door. >> it doesn't make sense. there's an elementary school right around the corner here.

>> sarah: homeowners in reading cleaning up after a tree falls on the corner of their house. the tree was so big it split in two when it fell. the trunk damaged the house, but the homeowners say it could have been much worse. well, it was a breezy afternoon. some think the wind is not what caused the tree to fall. >> i think the conditions had something to do with it because the exact same type of tree fell up the street a few years ago. >> sarah: crews cut up the tree and got it off the home. >> christa: we were commenting about that tree even in our yard. they're so stressed because there hasn't been enough rain. >> sarah: all right. let's send it over the chris lambert, do we have any rain in our future? >> chris: dropping some acorns early and some leaves falling in the backyard. not a lot of rain in the future. we'll have more dry weather than anything else over next four days. much more comfortable start to the day right now, running in the 60s to near 70 degrees. dew point into the upper 50s

yes, a windy day at times. late in the morning gusting 30 to 40mph. inin the early evening hours, still very comfortable. showers back into western connecticut and eastern new york. if these hold together, there may be a few showers that pass on by this morning, along and south of the mass pike. i think north of the mass pike, at least through the merrimack valley, southern new hampshire. little chance of any of those. nolo take a look further off to the west. a couple showers in western new york. i think a lot of the activity this afternoon will miss up, maybe a pop-up shower across the higher terrain of worcester county and western new england. the bottom line, the high pressure controlling friday, saturday and into most of sunday, although it does start the slide off to the east here. and you can see the theme of the weekend. it's to keep much of new england, especially the eastern half of new england, on the dry

connecticut, into the berkshires and up into vermont, a better chance of picking up on scattered showers, especially on sunday. i think all of us by sunday night into monday have the opportunity of getting some scattered showers and some embedded downpours in here. tracking a tropical storm. hurricane season at times has been quiet, but fiona is out there. tropical storm fiona, winds 45mph, a lot of open real estate out there in the open waters of the atlantic. so this staying out to. five days. 84 to 88 this afternoon. again, catching an isolated shower or sprinkle this morning. more clouds around this morning. feeling a little more sun. very pleasant weather, comfortable for the piano man tonight. billy joel at fenway park tonight. temperatures close to 80 degrees. a comfortable overnight, 64 to 70. tomorrow comfortable day. mostly sunny skies. sea breezes at the coastline. close to 80 to 82 at the beach.

disabilities and thinks he knows more about isis than our generals. >> sarah: yesterday trump got a new campaign manager and adviser as he tries to cut clinton's lead in the polls in battleground states. >> christa: happening today, secretary of homeland security jeh johnson will get a first-hand look at the devastating flooding in louisiana. he'll visit the worst-affected areas of that state. no well. 13 people have now died. thousands of people have lost their homes since the state was hit with torrential rain last weekend. there is some good news, though, this morning. officials say the flooding is not expected to lead to a rise in the zika virus in the state. the c.d.c. believes that the flooding could actually decrease the risk of zika because the mosquitoes that were carrying the virus don't travel to those flooded areas. also a hoverboard catching fire in a house in florida, and it

you see the batteries in this hoverboard may have gotten so overheated, they shot across a hall into a second room. the homeowner says the hoverboard had been plugged in for weeks when he heard a popping noise and a fire. both room were just destroyed. >> sarah: toy trouble for mcdonald's. the fast food chain is forced to stop handing out its new happy meal giveaway. mcdonald's says it will stop giving out the step-it tracker because of a defect in the toy. company officials say the customers to experience skin irritation. it was part of mcdonald's new campaign to help kids get exercise. >> christa: up next, olympians like michael phelps are already done with the rio games. we'll take a look at how they're
