surveillance video. >> anchor: the new video raising major red flags. ryan schulteis in the newsroom. >> reporter: police say the swimmers were not robbed and they vandalized a gas station bathroom. police say security guards approached their car after they trashed the bathroom and pointed guns at them during the confrontation. 2 of the swimmers were pulled off their flight home last night. officials say they the robbery story was made up. the police say the men gave money to the gas station owner and were allowed to go back to the olympic village sunday night. ryan lochte hasn't responded to these police comments. telling nbc news he wouldn't lie about being robbed. the 3 swimmers in rio are cooperating with police. >> anchor: and more breaking news out of woburn.

rushed to the hospital. the 15 month old was being cared for by a family friend. keep you updated on this as we learn more information. >> anchor: 7 news now in downtown crossing as police there investigate 3 people struck in the street. witnesses say the driver who was in the car got out and ran away. >> anchor: but police say the suspect behind the wheel didn't get very far. amaka ubaka live for us in downtown boston with the details at this hour. >> reporter: the female driver ran into this chipotle. police followed her after. now they're trying to figure out exactly how she managed to hit 3 people. a chaotic scene during lunch hour near downtown crossing. 3 pedestrian hit. 2 of them pinned underneath a car. >> i hope they're okay. and there's a little kid. >> reporter: and this woman moments after she was pinned

a female driver plowed through the intersection. >> there was a lady underneath she was holding on to the bumper and the car kept going. she put up her knees. and everybody jumped on the hood to stop her. >> reporter: eventually he says a group of 3 to 5 people jumped on the hood of the car and got the driver to stop. >> i opened the door. put the car in park. she took off. i didn't know she took off. the driver took off. >> r people including holland and a park attendant lift up the car and rescued the 2 pedestrian. >> dragged the lady out and then the boy out. >> a lot of people tried to help them. we see it. those people under the car. so as soon as we see we try to save their lives. >> reporter: witnesses say during the rescue the female driver ran into this chipotle to get away. her male passenger stayed at the

>> it happened so quickly nobody knew what was happening. >> reporter: now police say those 3 pedestrian were taken to local hospitals with nonlife threatening injuries. as for the driver we learned she has been detained. it's not clear if she faces any charges. amaka ubaka 7 news. >> anchor: also on 7 vacation violence in florida. a massachusetts teen attacked his mother and brother while on a family where that teen goes to school. >> reporter: we have the police report out of florida. the situation so bad the younger brother had to be flown to a hospital with life threatening injuries. fun in the florida son takes a terrible turn. called to report her 16 year old son stabbed her and his younger brother while on vacation. >> i can't begin to understand how this happened. >> reporter: people back home

framingham police say they've been called to the house many times before. they got a call that 16 year old gust ramgren was outside a home asking for help for his brother and mom. the teen confessed to the stabbing. according to the police report younger brother charlie stated that he thought he was going to die and asked why his brother would do this. >> i've known gus and charlie since they were born. and this is not something that was ever supposed to i've seen gus be a teenage boy. perfect no. but this, no. >> reporter: police say gust told them that the family was having a good time away from massachusetts. gust goes to newton south high school. the superintendent released a statement that reads in part that we are heart broken about the tragedy in florida. we pray for the recovery. this news is especially jarring

to be the first american woman to win gold in wrestling. running around draped in the american flag. also wrestling today was greenfield elaina parishcova she was going for bronze ultimately came up short getting pinned for a loss. it's a successful day on the track for team usa. clement grabbed gold in the 400 meter record holding ashton eaton. that's the second track gold the u.s. has earned so far in rio. allison felix running as she gets the exchange zone she trips up and drops the baton. as felix approaches teammate the brazilian runner in the lane next to her makes contact with felix. felix urged her teammate to keep

suspect and busting him. tim caputo has more on the scare in the store. >> reporter: it all happens in a matter of seconds. a shirtless man walks in the front door of a brain tree grocery store and almost immediately snatches a 13 month old boy. >> i was at the register. he took 4 steps into the store and already grabbing the kid. >> reporter: steven o'brian slings the toddler over his shoulder and heads for the door of south shore indian mart. the father followed the man and in the back of the store confronted o'brian saying that's my baby. the father confused by it all went up to the store owner. >> when the father came up to me asked me if i had an employee that was working today without a shirt. that's not possible. i have employees that are working none of them without a shirt. he explained to me what happened.
