through town overnight. trees uprooted and power lines knocked out. crews working around the clock now to try to clean up some of that mess. >> anchor: and governor baker now in concord serving the damage. we'll start with dan hausle who is live for news that same area with the latest. dan? >> reporter: well, this is a neighborhood of expensive homes and a lot of trees you might see around expensive holes of well, that was taken down in a large pat by this tornado that came through. you can look behind me and see and have been cut up by the crews here are preparing for the cleanup. you look down the road here you see some of those crews who are working right now, working on pot remember lines, many of which were brought down by some of those trees that came down. let's take you to some video of the damage in the area and pretty incredible. some within just walked by and said we have footage for your next godzilla movie. that waswhat you had here is a creature, a tornado, ef 1 coming

wide, a half mile long into concord. cutting into trees, throwing them every which way. that's what told them this was a tornado and not straight winds. the fact that the trees were twisted and the damage went in different directions. it left 1,000 homes without power, resident describing how they woke to the sounds of tree branches coming against their house, the whoosh the wind in the air. some people wakened by the warning by emergency officials that came through their cell that they had such a warning, but mema officials say they knew about it, it went on at 3:00 in the morning, whaled for about 20 seconds on those cell phones was the warning a tornado might be coming. people took cover inside their houses within 15 to 25 minutes, the tornado came through and the damage was apparent. people came outside and they could see all of the trees down and some of those trees are covering roads here as well. that's what officials are now concentrating on.

boston's chinatown. boston ems got the call just after 3:00 this morning saying a man was grazed by a bullet. the shooting happened in the area of essex an kingston streets. no arrests have been made. hingham police looking for a woman they say stole more than $2,000 worth of clothes in less than two minutes. investigators say she took 46 pace of women's jeans from an american eagle store in the derby street shops last week. take a look at here. anyone with information is asked to call police. >> anchor: and police in winchester are serving for answers after finding a woman deceased inside of a home. today detectives are park at the crime scene looking for any clues into how the woman may have died. 7's john cuoco has a closer look. >> reporter: investigators inside a home on edgewater place in winchester. the middlesex district attorney's office says an elderly woman was found unresponsive here at around 2:00 p.m. sunday afternoon.

she was pronounced dead. according to neighbors the two people that live in the home are a married couple both in their 70's. they were just lovely, lovely, she was terrific. i'm very surprised because they just were very, very pleasant couple that were great neighbors over the years. >> reporter: state and local police spent hours at the house searching for any and all evidence, focusing on the araround a front window. d.a.'s office is calling this an open investigation. they and nice family and the whole thing. >> reporter: right now we're still waiting on more information from the d.a.'s office as to what may have happened here. in winchester, john cuoco, 7 news. >> anchor: a tractor trailer jackknifed on the mass pike ramp this morning near hopkinton. the accident closed down the ramp on i 90 for several hours. fire fighters were on scene because of a possible fuel leak. no one was injured. >> anchor: and we're following more news today.

in ohio. police say a 74 yearly woman plowed in i acrowd at an outdoor concert for senior citizens. nine people hurt and right now two of them still fighting for their lives. more than 100 people were enjoying an outdoor community concert sunday night until a split second move turned into tragedy. police say an elderly driver struck 8 people on this dance floor. it just appears it was an accident. she made a mistake again with the gas and brake. >> reporter: now police are saying that a could be facing charges. all 8 of the victims were in their 60's and 70's and all were hospitalized including the driver. two of those victims are still in serious condition. a lot of people knew the victims so it ended abruptly. >> reporter: the dance floor was set up in a parking lot right next to the city's police and fire departments. two of its four sides had barricades up which acted as dividers between people and parked cars. but when the diver as pulling out of her parking space she

she is expected to be okay. >> anchor: a daredevil pastor in new york caught on camera jumping through fire. over the weekend pastor john morgan used a ramp to jump over a helicopter on the ground and then through a wall of fire. the stunt poller a pastor at the faith on fire fellowship. he said his jumps are symbolic of his faith with the ramp representing the highs and lows in life. and a high speed chase in california turns into a foot chase. police say a man was stolen vehicle dodging traffic as they sped through highways and back roads and after about an hour of driving the 20-year-old jumped out of the car and then ran in a neighborhood where he was later caught. >> anchor: a risky rescue caught on camera. this is in florida. a mother and son left damageling inside their car over an edge of a highway overpass, crews racing in to make sure the car didn't tumble any farther before they could even think about getting them out.

according toens withs just before 110 clock sunday morning a car lost control and drove off on to the grassy median on a highway in florida. then it went over a concrete barrier, inside that car a 27-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son. we had an issue of a vehicle being very unstable. >> anchor: rescuers say their first concern was to make sure the car didn't tumble another 20 feet down into the road below. it did have potential to slide. >> reporter: the fire fighters say their training kicked in and they used a system of webs and shrinks and keep it from falling any further. next step get the mom and son out. rescuers had to break out the back window of the car to pull the mother and sun to safety. paramedics say the two only had minor injuries and were calm. seem to be shaken but not too upset. it seemed to work flawlessly. everybody had a job that got done. >> anchor: the highway patrol is charged the mother with careless driving. it was more than an hour before that stretch of highway could reopen. troopers say the mom and son

all of the damage, he toured the area with cleanup crews just a short time ago. that storm knocked out power to a lot of people. >> anchor: that's right. right now crews have a lot of cleaning up ahead of them. we have reporters covering every dangle of the story both from ground and air we'll start with team 7 coverage with dan hausle who is live there on the ground in the middle of all of that damage. we can see them cleaning up behind you right now, dan? >> reporter: that's right. you get anywhere cle the damage and clean up has conditioned here for hours and hours. you see these huge pieces of machinery trying to clear out the debris that has been strewn around by all of these winds that the governor and many other officials agree everybody is lucky to get out of this without more serious damage. the ef 1 tornado cut a path of destruction four football fields wide blowing residents in its path out of their beds.
