the only injury we've seen so far was one of crews working on clean up had a minor injury. more on that that minute. you can see they are staging you and cutting down the trees that have not just all fallen to the ground. some of these trees were up into the wires here, all this damage caused in a matter of seconds overnight. let's show you some other views of the damage first from the air from sky 7 hd. you get a good idea of what they are calling a path of destruction, a half mile long, four football fields wide, this an ef 1 tornado. we you probably can't make it out in the video but they can tell it's a tornado because damage is going in different directions. largely north-northeast but at times trees going the opposite direction. that's an indicator of tornadic activity. if you have dozens of home damaged but only one home seriously damaged, officials saying that is amazing. all of this damage at 3:00 the in morning people in their houses you did not have any

the governor turning the area and talking about how lucky he felt. it was an extraordinary amount of damage for such a short hit and i literally find it hard to believe that in one minute anything could do what this storm did up there. so it's a remind their another nature at the end of the day can be one heck of a force when she s to be. >> anchor: the continue 1,000 homes lost power about half of them have it back. we're told by night fall most of those homes will get all of the power restored. there are a couple of homes up in the neighborhood that's hardest hit. they say it may have to wait until tomorrow. i told but that one worker injured. he was caught by one of these branches snapped back against him going into one of chipper machines. he was taken to the hospital we're told his injuries are not life-threatening but it's interesting that the only injury so far was not during the tornado but in the cleanup.

lifeguards going to the bath room at holotonight's pond in hilton. the lifeguard at the pond identified herself to a state trooper and indicated that while going to the bathroom, in a staff bathroom at the pond lifeguard facility she noticed a green light. >> reporter: lifeguards notified police who reviewed the sd card from the pen and determined he was the one who recorded the lifeguards. images were obtained and certain videos, videos of certain employees known to the commonwealth mostly lifeguards the bathroom. it was closed for the day while police continue to investigate. dcr released a statement saying in part the dcr is deeply disturbed by these allegations and remains committed to assisting the state police as they continue their investigation. does he have any remorse? no comment. not at all? how is he doing he is fine but no comment. >> anchor: so mckinnon has been suspended without pay

six-year-old son. crews racing to the rescue viewing to get the family out safely while keeping that car from falling on to the street below. ryan schulteis has the story. acorings to witnesses just before 11:00 sunday morning the car lost control and drove off on a highway in florida. then it went over a concrete barrier, inside that consider a 27-year-old woman and her six-year-old son. we had an issue of a vehicling very unstable. rescuers say their didn't simple another 20 feet down on to the road below. it did have potential to slide. fire fighters say their training kicked in and they used a system of webs and shrinks to secure the vehicle and keep it from falling any further. the next step get the mom and son out. rescuers had to break out the back window of the car to pull the mother and son to safety. paramedics say the two only had minor injuries and were calm. seemed to be shaken but not too upset. it seemed to flawlessly.

done. >> anchor: the highway patrol is has charged the mother with careless driving. it was more than an hour before that stretch of highway could reopen. troopers say the mom and son were both wearing seat bets and are expected to be okay. hot in the hues room, ryan schulteis, 7 news. >> anchor: in other news a successful search for a toddler now trapped under a capsized boat in florida. police say the 23-month-old girl was able to float in an air pocket underneath the boat because she was wearing a life jacket. that boat overturned sending the toddler and her parents into the water. officers in a nearby boater jumped into the water to look for the family quickly finding the adults. they accepted for almost an hour until they found that little girl. we heard crying so that was joyful to us. we usually incidents like this doesn't turn out like that. >> anchor: paramedics checked that little girl and took her to an area helicopter and she is expect to be just fine. >> anchor: ahead at 5:30 an 11-year-old suffering from a rare disease getting a special

>> anchor: a father in california donating a kidney hoping to give his daughter a second chance at life. his nine-year-old suffers from a rare disease that affects her organs. >> anchor: dock it is say she needs a new kidney to survive so her dad got test and soon found out he was a perfect match. billy is like most nine-year-olds, she is obsessed with puppiesnd summertime. her parent go out of there way to make every day count. she is happy you will the time. >> anchor: this despite the uncertainty they lived with for the past 7 years. she nearly a month in the hospital when she was two. they weren't quite sure what it was so they couldn't explain to us what it was because they weren't really 100% sure. 29 days later she was diagnosed with what's known is a rare condition that affects how her kidneys function but it takes a toll on other organs.

and her growth. she has failure to thrive. the kidney is the main thing right now. billy depends on a feeding tube and at least 14 medicines, some twice a day. her mother quit her job to take care of her. there is a lot of things air lot of small things that it affects which is to her, to a nine-year-old is big. you know, to. she doesn't run. she doesn't get to run or play. she has her body don't have the muscular tone that a normal nine-year-old kid does. doctors at billy's hospital longer is getting a transplant. you are a ham, huh? >> anchor: her father is an ideal canned day of the problem is he is the family's only bread winner. the procedure will keep him from working for as long as six weeks. billy could be there as long as six months. it's a life changing event. a sag nice worth making in hopes a child will have a healthier future. >> anchor: this family does, family has to do sometimes. friends have set up a go fund me account to raise money for that family and there is another 30

7 news at 6:00 starts right now. >> anchor: breaking news, a tornado hits concord pulling trees out by their routes an damaging dozens of homes we have team 7 coverage on the ground adin air. >> anchor: high pressure takes it from here and a touch of fall in the air. >> anchor: a new state program meant to improve state tolls is now raising questions about your privacy of breaking news. a tornado hitting concord knocking down trees and power lines leaving a path of destruction the officials expect crews to be on the scene cleaning up for days. at least 39 homes were damaged. >> anchor: some of the good news is that no one was hurt by the storm itself. we do have a team of recorders covering the story. we begin with dan hausle looking at some of the damage. dan in.

cleaning up all day long. if you look behind me you can see piles and debris and just beyond that you can see guys working up on power lines, many of them brought down by all of these falling trees as bad as everything looks though the governor here said question ought to feel lucky. governor baker touring the hardest hit neighborhood, trees torn down all, but amazingly no one hurt and littled property damage. it was an short hit. residents say the sound of the wind and trees snapping woke them up and left their houses surrounded by fallen lumber. i woke up in like three minutes later i had like ran to each side of the house and then i could go outside after about 30 minutes but it was, it literally felt like something washed through. unless say it was an ef 1 tornado with winds of 100 miles per hour. cut a path of destruction, a half mile long and four football fields wide. surprised not to see more trees into houses.

they fell, different directions it was mainly between houses. a national weather service alarm gave many home owners a 15 to 20 minute warning blasting them out of their beds with a 20 second siren alarm through their cell phones at 3:00 in morning. one resident directly in the path of the tornado. he immediately got his family up, he started to feel the storm copping and they went right down and took tschetter just as they should so early the project before us to is to open up roads, get their electricity restored and make the situation safe. >> anchor: governor baker and home owners smiling as he toured the area, evidence that supports the governor's declaration of relief. as you walk threw there and you look at all of that towned, all that carnage and downed trees and all the rest you can't believe that it didn't have an
