listening in to the police commissioner speaking about this assault that happened in the back bay on monday. you just saw video of a bike being put into a police van and police say that a man on the bike approached a woman in the backbay on claremont street onmont monday early in the hours. and sexually assaulted her. they just announced they made an arrest now and the police commissioner very proud of the victim. he in his wds proud of her for coming forward and helping police catch this man. they say they have arrested 31-year-old edwardo rodrigues, he is facing several charges including aggravated rape. >> anchor: we're staying object top of several breaking stories. a pilot making an emergency landing on the quabbin reservoir literally in the middle of the reservoir on the sand bar. really it's quite the scene. >> jadiann: so let's get out to adam williams.

>> reporter: scary day for this pilot. fortunately he was not injured. sky 7 d.live over the scene. pilot was able to land on the scanned are sand bar on the northern part of this massive reservoir. offices say the pilot reported problems before landing. they stressed the plain didn't crash but an emergency landing. official versus to figure out how to get the plane back to shore. sky 7 over the scene where police say a man was hit by a tree. this is you can see -- brookline. you can see a bucket truck. it appears to show tree work was being done at the time this happened. it happened behind the herb chambers dealership. the man was taken to the hospital. no word on his condition. we're following even more breaking news up in manchester, new hampshire, here a former pastor was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. police say they have evidence that 37-year-old steven jesmer had sex with a 13-year-old girl who was a

happened close to northeastern's campus. tim caputo has more on the arrest. >> reporter: just about a half hour ago boston police announced they have made an arrest in the sexual assault from early monday morning. they say the suspect was wearing a gps monitoring bracelet at the time of this rape. he had only been out of prison for about eight months after serving time for being convicted of rape about eight, edwardo rog reegeez approached the woman in the south end around 1:00 am monday morning. only 7 news was there when detentives recovered the bike this afternoon. the man allegedly walking the victim over to a playground just past massachusetts avenue and that is where the sexual assault happened. boston police say the suspect ran away and caught off the gps bracelet after that attack. police say they were able to

of the gps bracelet and have spent the last 24 hours plus trying to track him down. >> he was on a gps bracelet. from all the information we have, he cut that bracelet off. that's why we weren't able to locate him as quick as we wanted to. but we were on to about 15 houses over the last 16 hours looking for him. and you know, we had everyone possible looking and limb this afternoon -- him this afternoon. >> reporter: he was arrested around 3:30 this afternoon. about a day and a half after this sexual assault happened. we are told he will be in court tomorrow morning facing a number of charges including aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, very similar to the charges that he was convicted of about 8, 9 years ago. tim caputo, 7 news. >> jadiann: we're following breaking news, a small plane forced to land on a sand bar in the middle
