hurt is angry and from us trade explaining the city has been eyeing that building as a problem property for two years. >> in the city have been going after this for two years, legally with inspectional services, pat will tell you we have loan here more than 20 times. >> reporter: they had a court date with the property owner scheduled for today to get a judge to order him to tear the property down. >> failure of the property owner t the property has now involved basically the entire neighborhood. >> reporter: while investigators search for a cause the red cross is helping out those families who lost everything. >> most of them in this situation will get basically the same type of assistance because they all lost clothes, food. >> reporter: now the judge not only fined the property owner. she ordered the property owner to have his property torn down within the next seven days.

properties and maybe more here will have to be torn down as well. live in lawrence tonight, steve cooper, 7 news. >> jadiann: also on 7 two people now in custody in connection with the stabbing death of a teenager in new bedford. today this 21-year-old and a 16-year-old were ordered held without bail. byron barnett live for news new bedford where they have not charged anyone here with murder. so what is going on here? >> reporter: well, the victim is 15-year-old moralsess. family friends and neighbors are absolutely defendants tated by -- devastated city -- devastated by his death. both of the two suspects were already known to police 21-year-old louis ravial klaas appearing before a judge. he is charged with accessory to murder after the fact and assault and battery following the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy at the temple landing housing

wednesday evening. a 16-year-old boy has been charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. police say the 15-year-old was stabbed during a big foyt and that he tried to run home but collapse and died just before he got to his house. police say another 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man were also stabbed but expected to be ok. >> while you take this little 15-year-old baby, he is a baby. -- he is a 15-year-old baby. you take some >> he was a very outgoing kid. big hearted. he is 15 years old. he didn't get to graduate high school. >> reporter: today friends and neighbors gathered at a memorial struggling to come to grips with his death. police have video of the suspects attacking the victim. and police say both suspects are members of a gang from a different housing project. residents at temple landing say they try to keep to themselves but have problems with the group with the

we talk, we laugh. we do our thing. we don't get no no trouble it's the southbound end people that start the problem with us. >> reporter: police say the investigation is ongoing. and that more arrests are possible. they also say charges could be upgraded to murder. i'm byron barnett, 7 news. >> adam: new hampshire state trooper saying sorry for his role in a violent arrest at the end of a police chase. hent as part of the agreement the trooper will avoid jail time. jonathan hall live outside nashua district court with more details for us today. >> reporter: adam, this trooper is getting a two-year suspended sentence. he doesn't have to go to jail but he is agreeing to give up his career as a police officer. he is agreeing never to take the job which requires the use of a job even if he goes out of state.

along with his decision to take full responsibility. >> i did give it an awful lot of thought and ultimately decided this was an appropriate resolution to the case. >> reporter: systemoni's lawyer says his client in jail and disappointed the former trooper is getting off without doing any time. >> the message that is being sent is there are two sets of rules by letting this officer walk out with what he feels is a little more than a slap on the wrist. >> reporter: also charged massachusetts state troop. he is suspended without pay and unless he cuts a deal he will have to stand prosecution here in this courthouse and monaco has agreed to testify against flynn. jonathan hall, 7 news. >> adam: new details on the overdose death of a new hampshire teen. the mother of the 17-year-old girl pleaded guilty in federal court to her role in the death. he is admitted to failing to report a felony to police.

more survivors buried beneath the debris from wednesday's horrific earthquake but today the death toll is still rising. ryan schulteis here with more on the operation going on overseas. >> reporter: authorities say the death toll is up to 250 people. local authorities say they plan to work through the night to try to dig through the rubble to see if there are still people alive. time is rung out for nip who -- running out for anyone who maybe trapped but one of the things is a major ea when that took place there was a man who survived for 72 hours so crews are hopeful those stories can happen again. most of the residents who have been devastated cannot return to their homes. the homes still standing. it's too dangerous. they have a been cleared from the area. authorities have set up temporary shelters but it gets cold there at night. things are not comfortage for them. they're happy with the immediate emergency response but many are worried what

closeup. a field camera in the berkshires captured this picture. cameras is set up to keep tabs on wild live. they're doing their job. the bear wants everyone to know he is doing just fine. >> adam: terrific. all right. let's talk about the forecast once again. it seems like the humidity is making its way back in today. >> reporter: test --s it' true. we have the heat with us, above average temperatures. where we should be, when you look back at statistics for the last 30 years we should be in the upper 70s for highs in boston. we're in the upper 80s and we could use the rain. the drought monitor was updated today. not a lot has changed but these severe doubt in this dark orange expanded farther west as well as a little farther south. south eastern massachusetts. so we'll take every drop we can get. a couple of shots of getting rain within the next call it 24 hours.

we'll watch out for and crossing our fingers for, because you can see widespread .1 up to a quarter of an inch is about the best we can do. but some of the areas may get pinpointed andent up with -- end up with closer to an inch. as we know with this setup it's hit and miss where they end up. after this front moves through, less humid air makes its way back into place as well as the sunshine. we're in for a nice weekend it's muggy tonight. it's oppressive through the first part of tomorrow. but then we're right back down here to comfortable amount of humidity with dew points in the mid 50s as we hit the weekend. it's a fantastic weekend in store. i hate to say it but this is the last official weekend of meteorological summer, june, july and august but it looks like a fantastic one so plan some outdoor activities and enjoy the dry weather. if you can't beat them, join them.
