abington. >> anchor: it does appear to be an accident. in abington with breaking details. >> reporter: this is what we know at this hour 211-year-old boys got hands on a gun. one of those boys was shot in the face. the plymouth county da says the shooting happened inside a home and appears to be accidental. the victim was rushed to boston hospital where he is be in stable condition. >> any gun shot wound is dangerous. anything can happen. our thoughts and prayers to that little boy's safety. and the state police working the da's doing a great job. >> reporter: the circumstances of the shooting are under investigation. the gun that was used in this is a legal hand gun. at this point not saying who it belongs to.

you imagine out here including the police who responded to this young boy shot in the face. kimberly bookman 7 news. ; neighbors in shirley are on alert after a jogger says she was approached by a suspicious man. they are keeping their eye out for a green van. >> anchor: get out to shirley where brandon gunnoe has the latest. >> reporter: kim and adam, the jogger told police that the driver of this van she could see somebody hiding in the back seat. >> the jogger said her heart raced when a green cargo van drove straight at her. a man in his 50s or 60s kept offering her water. >> according to the victim the individual didn't pass the water out to her. she thinks she saw an individual sitting in the back. >> reporter: the mother described the incident in detail

relaid by the police on their facebook page. the woman told investigators in 20 years of jogging she had never been forced off the road. she was certain the driver was trying to get her to reach in so they could kidnap her. a young jogger was murdered 20 miles away in princeton. state police worked more than a thousand leads in the death of marcotte. >> we're getting to >> reporter: a woman walking her dog aware of the danger didn't want to be identified. she is concerned. >> i read about it last night. it's scary with everything that is going on. >> reporter: now the jogger said the van had massachusetts tags. she only got part of the plate though. she said it was 930. brandon gunnoe 7 news. ; we are tracking tropical storm

the gulf of mexico. that red blob hermine getting elevated to tropical storm status. chief meteorologist jeremy reiner tracking the system. >> reporter: this is upgraded to a tropical storm this afternoon. winds at 45 miles per hour and further strengthening likely. perhaps getting close to a hurricane status. the hurricane cent miles per hour before making land fall. stralving up the 95 corridor eastern north carolina over land. there will be weakening that happens. into the latter half of the holiday weekend this is where the forecast becomes difficult. there will be an area of high pressure across the u.s. canadian border. so the question is how much television it is blocked to the

police say they had no choice to arrest these 4 and take the protests to jail. >> this is people's territory. >> reporter: those protesters were charged wife disorderly conduct. 2 of them charged with interfering with a police officer. city council hopes to have a resolution by the end of the year. >> anchor: a deadly drive under investigation in east boston a couple killed when a car slams into a shuttl that ride taking a tragic turn to logan airport to their hotel. steve cooper with details. >> really shocked. i feel bad for the family. >> reporter: tragedy here along route 1 a. a swams scott man plowed into the back of hampton inn courtesy shuttle. >> really sad.

van crashing into a jersey barrier. 2 people in the shuttle bus a 59-year-old man and 49-year-old woman from el paso, texas were thrown from the bus and pronounced dead on are the scene. the driver of the van and 2 other passengers another woman from el paso, texas and a man from florida and the driver of the subeur you rushed to area hospitals. a horrifying scene that's rattled hotel guests. >> i'm surprised. i think that would never happen. freak accidents happen. you would never know. >> you know when you're on these shuttles you're safe? >> you think that. obviously not. >> reporter: the driver who caused the crash his name hasn't been released. state police say he hasn't been charged with anything. their investigation is ongoing.

; following more news today a salem woman pleads guilty in the 2009 in the death of her son. labrie was serving 5 years for the crime and given a new lawyer for the trial. she wanted to plead guilty earlier and is released on probation. >> anchor: an 18-year-old beverly man accused of trying to kill his prosecutors say curtis day impaled his friend with a club yesterday afternoon. police say these 2 guys and another friend were at wakefield's break heart reservation yesterday afternoon. they'd told police they'd taken lsd, marijuana and heroin when a fight broke out ending with a gulf club attack. >> there was a shaft of a gulf

hermine. it's not locked that track. the first half is because it's here. we know it's going to move into the panhandle in 24 hours. it will strengthen before making land fall in the panhandle late tomorrow night into friday. as a strong tropical storm. moving up through georgia, south carolina, north carolina. becoming a rain maker more than anything else. there be to 65 miles per hour. as it comes off the del marsha peninsula further weakening. television goes to the right that's the challenge of the forecast. this cone of uncertainty does now include new england. it did not a few days ago. the challenge is there with blocking high pressure to the north. does it stall the storm's north ward movement or allow it to

england? we won't know those questions until sometime friday perhaps as late as saturday. so the best advice now keep your plans for the holiday weekend and keep tuning back in. i know you're thinking that's a hallow statement. it's a will challenging forecast. because of the high pressure blocking and wobbling the storm around. in this position here there may be the chance of fringe effects sunday night and through the day perhaps wind. wind talking 25 maybe 35 miles an hour wind gusts on the islands and the cape. that's a stretch at this point. there will be rough surf and rip currents. we've seen that this week because of hurricane gaston. and again some rain is possible late sunday night and monday. we do also have a few showers moving out of new york and pennsylvania this evening. they will be with us overnight
