storm. this is the latest forecast track from the hurricane center. still not much change. still very difficult forecast for us in new england, but you notice the redline does not come up into new england there so may be fringe effects from the storms but it doesn't look like a direct hit with the activity of the rain and the wind. as we show you these hurricane models, they're doing all their thing here but they have a general agreement that none of the lines, none of the computer models move the storm straight up into southern new england some rain and some wind from hermine late sunday night and into the day on monday with the greatest chance of that happening would be down along the south coast, cape and the islands and more so down to the middle atlantic states, especially the jersey shore where they have a tropical storm watch in effect already for hermine. >> kim: thank you. so families we know in south florida are boarding up their homes dealing with some flooded roads. brian joins us from south florida.

rising on the gulf coast. hurricane hermine already packing a punch with so much wind and rain. >> we'll have a lot of trees down. damaged roads. damaged houses. >> reporter: franklin county commissioner is urging people to get to higher ground. these outer barrier islands will be almost totally submerged. >> everything here is going to go under water. it's going to be a major disaster. >> reporter: sandbagging alread the coast. they're boarding up windows, too. >> when you drive into the coastal areas this is what you see. lots and lots of power and light trucks have come from all over the state. they're gassing up now getting ready for the worst. >> if the power goes out we're here to put it back up. >> reporter: storm surge and flooding are the biggest concerns here. marinas could get hit the hardest and captain are tying things down.

scene of the accident. here is main street all roped off. there is a lot of police activity as they investigate what happened there, and as soon as we get more information we'll pass it along to you. we're following breaking news out of attleboro. crews battling this house fire, sky 7 over the scene. you can see there big portion of the home is burned but it appears to be mostly smoke and most of the flames are out but a very active situation still and no word on whether >> ryan: baby sitter arrested in arlington, kimberly bookman is live with the latest. >> reporter: arlington police say that the bainy sitter was drunk and high stumbling counsel the road trying to enter the wrong house with a 3-year-old boy in her care. a resident saw the disoriented woman and called police. when officers arrived they saw they found 51-year-old susan defend lowe of medford and say she smelled of hog. a search of her car turned

police believe she mix that had with prescription drugs. the boy was not hurt and safely reunited with his mother. mom told police she had been using devereaux after finding her on the popular website care.com. baby sitter had a criminal record. now police are investigating the site's practices warning consumers. >> when you go and hire someone to watch your children or provide care, for whoever that may be, we ask you to do the due or just a referral by one person really isn't enough. >> reporter: we did reach out to care.combut we have not heard back. police say the baby sitter wags cooperative and asked for help. they brought her to a local hospital and arrested her on reckless endangerment of a child. kimberly bookman, 7 news. >> ryan: students, parents and faculty in abington sending prayers to a young boy accidentally shot in the face. it what happened two the boy

steve cooper has more. >> reporter: investigators have been coming and going from police headquarters here in abington most of the day today while grief councilors have been at the schools in town working with kids trying to help them process what happened here. >> as a parent, it's unimaginable to me. >> reporter: abington school superintendent peter shaver wrestling with his own shock and sadness following the accidental boy who attend the woodsdale elementary school. >> we want to make sure they process the emotions and comes along with this. >> reporter: the plymouth county district attorney confirming an 11-year-old boy shot his friend in the face in this home on lynnwood street while the kids were playing with a loaded hand gun. victim was air lifted to children's hospital in boston. >> that is a horrible thing. it's not something we want to see in community. >> reporter: while the investigation continues, many in town are left to

tape here to logan airport. other ended up in new york. here is video. little boy who was reunited with his family. here is what we have learned. two unaccompanied children that are the same age both 5 years old somehow boarded a flight to the wrong destination. one was supposed to land at j.f.k.in new york. one was flown to boston by mistake and she was presented with a boy who wasn't her while the children were always under the care and supervision of jet blue crew members realized the situation was distressing for the families. both families were offered a refund on the flights. we know they were also offered a credit for future flights but we have learned that the mom in new york has

>> reporter: we will get back to hermine in a second. we're tracking a cool fronts moving through southern new england sparking a scattering of showers, a few thunderstorms but they've since fizzled out moving through metro boston. west, the line broken up fading away but it's leading edge of much more comfortable air. the city at 74. dew point temperatures, world of difference. you hop on the other side of the front and the dew point drop off to the low 50s, kean dew point at 55. reaching air not that far away thanks to canadian high pressure which play as major role in our weekend forecast. tonight a shower fading away over the next hour otherwise

dryer air in through the house or the apartment but it'll happen. temperatures between 56-63. then tomorrow, please afternoon. lots of sun, a few clouds in the afternoon. bit of a morning breeze, temperatures 74-80. we start the weekend in similar fashion, lots of sunshine. a few clouds in the afternoon. all thanks to high pressure which isn't going to move all that much. that i think is going to help us out in terms of blocking hurricane hermine or storm hermine because if it wasn't for the high hermine would come right up into new england and it would be a direct hit but i don't think that is the case. a lot of the computer models also staying the course not deviating from the thought process over the last 24 hours, still the challenge is how much if any of hurricane hermine's leftovers full make it up to southern new england. i do think there is going to be the phones for some rain and wind sunday night

happening down along the south coast as well as the cape and the islands. but across southern new england, berkshires, lakes region it may not have any issue whatsoever. even in metro boston so the chance will be higher the farther south you travel. what i'm confident with area of high pressure in is that will keep the surf churned up for the entire holiday weekend. be mindful of that if you are going to the beaches tomorrow and again on saturday. the chance of rain highest in the g but it's not locked in stone that it would happen because the hurricane's track is not locked. forecast, temperatures this weekend seasonal. a little cool sunday and mopped with the threat of showers and of course we'll have an update on hermine at 11:00 but i will be back at 7:00 to talk more about hermine. >> announcer: now time for 7 sports with joe amorosino. >> >> i was up to coach belichick i wish i played every game.
