>> in the path of danger. >> anchor: so we begin tonight with tropical storm hermine. live pictures now. this is myrtle beach south carolina. gloomy skies and down below flooded streets. watches and warnings along the eastern seaboard. >> anchor: and the big question on everyone's mind is where is it going to track for labor day weekend. chief meteorologist jeremy reiner with the latest for us. >> reporter: that's right about wher carolina the grand strand. will move up into north carolina overnight tonight. jump off the carolina coastline the outer banks. from there slow down. the concern as it is slowing down it will be on top of the gulf stream loaded with warm water. that will likely allow hermine to restrengthen back into a hurricane sometime late sunday night and monday morning. you notice this red line

moving slowly off to the north and the east. trying to move north but blocking high pressure will not allow it to come into southern new england. i think though we're on the edge of this tropical system late in your holiday weekend. tomorrow is easy. sunshine all day. no wind. sunday mostly cloudy skies dry. wind will develop sunday evening overnight sunday into monday morning. along the south shore. i think lighter boston north and west. on the cape and islands winds will gust. winds subside on monday labor day. then talk about tropical showers showing up. detail that forecast in minutes. ; when hermine came ashore overnight it did pound florida's panhandle. kris welch with a look for us at the damage left behind there. >> reporter: pounding florida's gulf coast with heavy rains and

>> this is one of the worst that we've seen in the city in a long time. >> reporter: on the hard hit island of cedar key storm surge devastated parts of the community. >> majority of the businesses down there they don't have a front anybody anymore. tore everything to pieces. >> reporter: but the destruction from hermine isn't over yet. the storm is expected to impact much of the east coast throughout the holiday weekend. >> our goal is b overprepared and under whelmed when it comes to this storm. >> reporter: forecasters warn this storm will be dangerous and will impact labor day festivities. >> could spend more than 2 days sitting in this general area off the midatlantic and northeast coast. a system that is not moving can be big trouble. that means whatever rain fall that is occurring could happen for not only hours but days in

driveway. the husband was so distraught. this happened before 2:30 this afternoon. for 4 hours accident reconstruction crews collected evidence took pictures. just after 6 the medical examiners van removed the body from the driveway. the minivan was towed away. all of this as neighbors looked on. >> i saw someone -- something under a white blanket and it was in front of the vehicle. person. i assumed that earlier someone would be taken out on the stretcher. >> from what i hear the husband is upset. obviously not something he did on purpose. somehow i've been trying to figure out how that could have happened. >> reporter: back out here live now police telling us that the couple involved live in this duplex where the driveway is. we have seen many people come and go from that duplex.

street in east boston. they arrested a 60-year-old male in connection with the murder in july. and asked the public to help identify her. they found her questioned her and released her. it was part of the puzzle. this morning ramos was arrested. fingerprints from both suspects were found at the crime scene. both surveillance video near the crime scene at the time of the murder. defense attorney robert grivon tried to keep ramos out of the view of the tv camera because of identity issues. angel ramos is held without bail and 16-year-old fernandez who is tried as an adult is being held without bail also. >> anchor: new details on a police investigation in

the body of a 38-year-old woman was found inside a home. the state's medical examiner says she was killed by a single gun shot. a former mob boss indicted in connection to a murder. investigators say frank cadillac cell emmy his son and an associate murdered a witness back in 1993. the victim's body was found in providence rhode island in march. the attorney says his ready to fight the charges. >> he's ready to fight. he's ready to fight and put this behind him. >> anchor: however wheatic does admit he hung around sal emmy and had a relationship with the father and son. >> anchor: police say he sexually assaulted a woman getting a ride. this is the latest case surrounding the ride. share company. steve cooper with more.

>> reporter: uber driver michael la dreen makes a bee line from the courtroom after pleading not guilty in his arraignment. near ross road in dorchester where la dream sexually assaulted a woman who wanted to drive her home. the victim didn't know him. >> these parties prior to this instance at unknown to one another. >> reporter: la dreen's arrest follows the arrest of other drivers in the boston area. the incidents led the mayor of everett to fire off a scathing letter demanding a meeting with the ceo of uber to discuss their screening process for hiring drivers. la dreen told police he admitted to having sex with the woman but

outside let courthouse we tried to ask him about that. did you do it or not? >> hell no. >> reporter: uber released a statement saying we are fully cooperating with boston police. so la dreen was released on personal recognizance but ordered by the judge to stay away from the victim here and not to drive for uber or ride sharing company for that matter. >> anchor: a employee in court today charged in an alarming assault. the 23 dorchester man is charged with assault and battery on an elderly person. punching him. then stealing his cane and threatening to kill him. >> anchor: danger in the sky for planes flying to logan airport. 3 pilots reporting green lasers into their eyes while in the

another plane 10 miles northeast of logan was hit. 2 minutes later someone else lit up a wind shield in that part of the sky. 2 of the pilots say their eyes were injured by the lasers. they did manage to land safely. there have been a number of these events over the past years at logan and the federal aviation administration is investigating. >> anchor: head handwriting toward stoat an a route 128 station in west wood. they evacuated everyone and stopped service. sky 7 hd over that delay. see people standing on the platforms. there's the stalled train. there's the people standing and waiting. mbta officials say the trains are running again. >> anchor: sky 7 over a sign of the season this afternoon. moving time. a lot of people unfamiliar with

>> we're tracking hermine along the east coast. the tropical storm causing trouble and prompting warnings and watches for a number of states. hermine makes land fall in florida this morning and overnight as a hurricane. >> anchor: and then it plowed through georgia as a down graded tropical storm bringing strong winds and heavy rain. live in live look at the after math there. >> reporter: good evening ladies and a welcome sight here. the sun peeking through the clouds. it looks like we've seen the end of the massive rain here. the wind that shredded this area and parts of florida too as it came on shore. this was a violent storm. leaving hundreds of thousands

today. that continue to a problem here. as the storm has moved through georgia into the carolinas and taking aim at the eastern seaboard. local forecasts here say that things are going to get very nice in the next couple of days. they'll have a holiday weekend here. along the east coast there's concern from forecasters this storm is going to get out into the atlantic build up strength again intensify up to hurricane level over flooding is going to be an issue. tornados on the leading edge of this storm. while hermine is gone here. it's not done. it's going to cause problems for millions of people in its path along the east coast through early next week. that is the latest live here in savannah where the rain and wind has let up. >> anchor: that brings us to our next piece of information for

for a long time. talking about is forever. what do we have here? this interesting shot of the sky. >> reporter: that is in foxborough a beautiful shot there. the cumulus clouds. above that you see the golden color there higher thin cirrus clouds. those higher clouds shooting off hermine. the upper and outer clouds of hermine showing up in southern new england. the worst is go talking about that for days. that looks like the case. the track is not locked. keep tuning in once a day. we got your plans too. for some rain and wind like lie sunday evening more soop monday. we catch a break in terms of coastal flooding. the tides will be running low for the high tide cycle of the month. we do not anticipate coastal flooding. the only exception is the south coast of rhode island and

up sunday afternoon and sunday evening it will not be constant. this will be the occasional gust talking 25, 35 miles per hour. 35 to 45 miles per hour down along the south coast, the cape and the islands. 15 to occasionally 25 miles per hour. the chance of rain not happening tomorrow. tomorrow is fine. sunday will have clouds. the rain holds off until after dark on sunday. breezy on sunday then showers tropical showers scattered about southern new england during the day on monday. it does not rain all day long on monday. high pressure with us now. overnight tonight clear comfortable lows in the 50s. tomorrow fantastic. the pick of the weekend with lots of sunshine. temps tomorrow in the mid and upper 70s. water temps 68 to 74. low tide early tomorrow morning.
