don't know. i went to boarding school. you kind of eat, work, play with your peers. >> are you there the entire school season? do you get to go home? >> oh, yeah. built-in study hall. how many times do you want to tell your kid, go up to your room for two-and-a-half hours, don't come out. >> instead you say, go up to your room for the next three months and i'll see you -- don't play video games. >> in this case, they have to do that. it's really regimented. this kid is a self-regulator anyway. >>ti >> my wife had a whole list of things for me to do. this was the firefly lights up in the corner. she really made it homey and beautiful. and the last text we got last night was "i love my room, thank you both so much." and the sweet thing -- i texted a kid, keep an eye on her. i saw her with her mom, she was crying -- she said she's home sick. last thing she sent me, i am with her right now, we went to the ice cream social and we're watching a movie.

>> did you cry a lot? >> there was a lot of moms crying, and me -- my wife -- she's not a big cryer. i'm a huge cryer. so i tried not to let her see it. i turned after i hugged her and walked and ba boom. >> i remember -- my parents dropping me off at college and that was the first time. and -- i went to high school here in the city. and i went to go see them and they were staying at the howard johnson in oswego. i went to go pick -- to say good night to them. my mom comes, okay. the first time i -- what's wrong with my dad? he had been crying. i mean, just -- i mean -- >> yes. >> tough guy and he was just crying. >> that was his moment. >> i remember crying in kindergarten. that's how -- when you're a kid and your parent leaves you for the first time. all these years later i remember sitting on the carpet and our of mercy catholic school with all of the other kids and watching

and i can still to this day see her face, and i was, what, 4 or 5 years old. i just remember thinking, what happened? they've left me and even in college. i grew up very conservative. i wasn't allowed to sleep over at anyone's house. the first time i slept over at anyone's home, other than my family's home, college. >> wow. 1,578 miles from my parents' door to temple university, and i had never slept over at someone's house. isn't that crazy? my parents let giving her wings. >> thank you. >> she's more worried than you are. you know what you can to to take your mind off of it? go see this movie, "sully." i saw it last night, the premier last night. and it was spectacular. >> wow. >> miracle of the hudson. sully sullen berger, landing -- u.s. airplane in the hudson river. an amazing story.
