>> anchor: the search for this man is on tonight. live in methuen with details you'll see on just one station. >> reporter: according to this arrest warrant the mother's 4-year-old son heard her father -- his father rather kill his mother right in front of him. a neighbor heard the boy scream no dad. no dad. the noises stopped so she didn't call police. as we know the mother di wanted for murder of his exgirlfriend rosa. according to the arrest warrant we obtained the 29-year-old mother was clinging to life when police found her in the second floor bedroom in a methuen house. she was rushed to the hospital. died a short time later. we're hearing what the 4-year-old's mother's son told police.

quieted down now. earlier fire fighters were dealing with flames on the roof of one of these brown stones. trying to figure out if propane tanks had anything to do with this. boston fire fighters arrived at 3:30. >> upon arrival they called a fire showing and smoke showing on arrival. >> reporter: once the flames were knocked department reported extensive fire damage to the building. 2 others had smoke and water damage. fire fighters found propane tanks on the roof. one tank had a valve broken off. >> there were a couple of propane tanks on top of the building. there was an earlier report that there may have been a slight explosion. right now that will be part of the investigation. >> reporter: multiple families are forced from their homes tonight because of the damage.

challenging because of the fact that what you see isn't necessarily what you get. what you see on the outside -- we have to make sure with cameras that it hasn't migrated to the interior. it will catch the framing below. it's all connected. >> reporter: and fire fighters say hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage have been done to all 3 of these buildings. live in the south end john cocoa 7 news. >> anchor: sky 7 today as a fire tears through a home there. the fire started this afternoon. the flames quickly spreading through the house on rust way. it suffered serious fire, smoke and water damage. the home's location made it hard to put out the flames. >> it's far enough from the fire station and the fire had a big head start on us. >> anchor: no one was inside at the time of the fire. but the family pet dog is missing.

couple of days. and we also have on the maps this evening a cool front. this will charge into new england tomorrow afternoon popping showers and storms. >> anchor: and there's more news today a crash investigation is under way in danvers. after a 70-year-old woman is hit and killed by a car. that's when the woman's friend said she was coming to meet her for their morning walk. the driver to didn't even see her in the road because of sun glare. >> i think he was very distraught. he was sitting on the grass. and just waiting to see what his next move was with the police. >> he said i didn't see her cause the sun. the sun is bad here in the morning. >> anchor: police have not identified the woman killed and they say the driver is cooperating with the investigation. >> anchor: we have breaking

in a possible abduction attempt. police say 3 young teenage boys reported an older man jumped out from a rock formation and tried to grab them. the man has a long gray beard. he ran off into the woods. police searched but have not found anything right now. >> anchor: city of newton officials and workers grieving after the sudeb death of a public works employee on the robert gab rel suffered a medical emergency driving tora job site causing him to crash into the tree. police are still trying to figure out what exactly happened. >> what we know before 10:30 this morning there was a single vehicle crash in our city on wood ward street. 2 people in the vehicle transferred to a local hospital. >> anchor: another person in the

threatening injuries. >> anchor: a man hit and killed on a street in springfield. the driver in this case facing serious charges. hit and killed another man while he was crossing the street. right after police say the driver left and went to taco bell. charged with motor vehicle homicide and driving under the influence. >> anchor: an east boston man accused of threatening parents and children on their way to school. they say he police say he was drunk when they arrested him. >> reporter: a little boy threatened with this kitchen knife outside his brother's elementary are school according to police. >> these kids are our future. >> reporter: boston police credit their officers who subdued the 36-year-old suspect while making sure the kids did not get too scared. >> that's amazing. there's a bunch of crazy stuff

time. it's not the best area. >> reporter: police say not only was this guy armed he was very drunk and threatening parents and young kids arriving for the first day of school. >> this man allegedly waived the knife at a 4-year-old boy as his parents watched. then approached the adults. the witnesses claim the guy yelled i remember you i'm going to get you. >> this is a bad area of ea boston. >> reporter: some parents told us they were never informed of this incident by the school. >> are you going to take these kids out of school? >> no, no. i talked to the secretary. she eased my mind. the police did a very good job. >> reporter: released this statement, quote, we are grateful and relieved this incident was handled in a quick manner by the boston police department. and nothing more serious
