away running. but officers were ready and quickly made an arrest. a spokesperson for the store says around 7:00 this morning, a man walked in and threatened to hurt one of the employees. everyone inside made it out safely. but the suspect remained. allegedly, threatening to blow up the store. >> we really didn't see anything. we looked down the street. and there was cop cars. that is all we saw. we weren't sure what was going on. >> reporter: police blocked off a large stretch of routes 44 and 118. causing a major detour and forcing stores country kitchen to close for the day. >> it hurts. we are a little mom-and-pop trying to get started. this doesn't help the situation. >> reporter: police from nearby departments have the store surrounded. it is unclear what the man said to store employees or what the demands are, if any. cumberland farms employees remained closed to the scene. they couldn't talk about what happened. a spokesperson says no one inside was hurt. >> it is scary. we go to cumberland farms every day.

that man was surrounded by a swat team. >> anchor: we want to get to nicole oliverio live with the breaking details. nicole? >> reporter: jen, we just spoke with the police chief. he is give drag mattick accounts of what happened between the standoff between police and that suspect. so this all began just after 7:00 this morning and came to an end around 11:00, 11:30. finally, police used a flash grenade to get of the car that he had been sitting in for hours. the suspect tried taking off. but police had the cumberland farms surrounded and quickly made an arrest. they did say they had to use the bean-bag guns on him. and that suspect did suffer some injuries. this all began just after 7:00 this morning. cumberland farms says that the suspect, 38-year-old benjamin kimball of north attleborough had gone into the store and threatened an employee. now, it is unclear exactly what he said to the employee. but as he came out of the car,
