one officer was hit by the cleaver and was taken to the hospital. nonlife threatening injuries. the suspect grazed by a bullet was taken to a local hospital. >> anchor: also at 7 a terrifying stand off that ends with an intense take down a man in custody after threatening to blow up a gas station. quite the scene. police say it all started with a call to 911. >> anchor: jonathan hall went down. >> reporter: it ended in a flash. there was a lot of hurry up and wait. police negotiators tried to talk this guy into giving himself up. the officer who made the take down was a police dog. a 5 hour stand off over. police take benjamin kimble into custody after using nonlethal

anything. they did their job and did it well. >> reporter: sky 7 hd over head fires a grenade as a distraction. kimble made a run for it holding an x box controller which looked like a gun from a distance. >> he was hit with a bean bag shot gun which is a less lethal shot gun and taken down by swat members with the lighter 6:30 this morning. then asked to make a call. he took the store's cordless phone dialed 911 and hung up. saw kimble heading towards a saturn suv. >> i told the officer to back off. i stated he had a gun and a bomb was going to blow the place up. >> reporter: attempted to set fire to the gasoline pump.

third ballistic proof vehicle towards the suspect's vehicle. he jumped into the driver's seat threw the car in reverse and rammed one of the armored vehicles blocking his escape. >> reporter: during the 5 hour stand off kimble made numerous threats to blow up the gas station. finally he was arrested and went to the hospital. >> threw those grenades to slow him down. >> reporter: kimble's car stuffed including a lamp shade. no sign of a gun. no sign of explosives. kimble told negotiators that he was upset at the lack of services for the mentally ill. kimble is hospitalized. he's being held without bail on 4 charges. could face arraignment on those charges. live in row hobe obligate 7 news. >> anchor: we are getting a
