head again. but in some ways it never went away because trump has been asked repeatedly over the course of this campaign, do you still have concerns, do you still think maybe president obama is not an american citizen. and he always dodges the question. and now you have the campaign saying, oh, no, he does. i mean what's going on here? is he trying to have it both ways, i guess is the question? >> he has been up until now but i think we've reached the point where he has to say it himself. he's made the point in the past, "other people don't speak for m me." i think he will. he risks alienating those who liked him for his posture. >> he has been given an opportunity over and over again as recently i guess as yesterday. >> two reasons. he doesn't want to alienate people who still believe president obama was not born in the united states. the other thing is what is trump's campaign about fundamentally? strength. this would be the biggest admission of being wrong about a very important thing for his political arc that he's ever

address this today how exactly he will phrase this. this is not something at all he seems happy or eager to do. >> no matter what donald trump says, whether he acknowledges what his staff says on his behalf or not, it is going to be another test for the country and the media what can he get away with. >> let's talk about the polls. they are tightening significantly. i think that's the trend in every poll, whether it is a battleground poll or a national poll. you have a lot of democrats who are saying, do we prematurely celebrate here? trump can >> he can win and you are seeing even some republicans who don't like trump at all saying that. some prominent columnists. hillary clinton came out yesterday and was very good. we're not talking much about it because of this birther thing. after three days of reflection, she realized i can lose this. the only way i can win is i have to fight for it. that is a reality for democrats. watch to see in the next few days is she consistently fighting to win this? because if she doesn't consistently fight to win it, she could lose. >> who does she have to convince

rocket in chicago is here with a great one-pot meal. >> what are we making today? >> this is one of my favorite dishes at rocket. it is hearty, it's got some spice but it is really healthy with ingredients like chicken, garlic, green peppers, jalapenos, tomatillos, all kinds of good stuff. first we're just something really easy here. season with a little salt and pepper. i'm using chicken thighs here. i like chicken thighs because they're just tastier. and we're just going to brown them on each side which will also kick up the flavor profile a bit. you're just doing this right here in your pot. you are going to use the same pot the whole time. once you brown it, it will look great. add some chicken stock to cook it all the way through.
8:48 am
separate it. you can use turkey or pork, if you want, by the way. totally mix it up. then you go et to your vegetables. we've got green peppers, on yoenonions, just sweat that out to get nice and tender. then hit it with a little bit more salt. then just add the garlic, jalapenos for a little bit more heat, cayenne for some heat. you do it in stages because you want it to sweat at the appropriate rate and also get the good mix going. tomatillo -- >> you're putting some spice in here. >> i know. >> we are also going to be sweating at the appropriate rate. >> i know. then shredded chicken. you can use rotisserie chicken if you want to cut all those steps. or even leftover chicken. throw it all in. after about 30 minutes of turning the heat down and letting it simmer, now smell
