schools are starting now. my son had bronchitis already last week. >> christa: i hope he is feeling better. >> kris: he is. >> chris: too soon. too soon. right? a huge temperature swing by the weekend. low 60's for highs by sunday. a breeze as well. it will feel like fall outside. in the meantime, still feeling like summer this afternoon. temperatures will warm up into the low 80's. and you look at the extension of the extreme drought that we have had across much of eastern new england it. you can see that a lot of this red shaded area goes back into worcester county. southeastern new hampshire as well. that is where there was beneficial rain yesterday. we had about two to four inches of rain in the swath from northern worcester county up into southern new hampshire. although before was more isolated in northern worcester county. two to three inches common across that area. then into boston. a third of an inch. that was it. south of the city, a couple

that is where we constantly find some scattered showers in here. throughout the day. they are going to be scattered about the last couple of hours. these showers pretty much over and done with. you note the trend here for the rest of the area. clouds thinning out. returning to sunshine. once that sunshine gets to work, temperatures quickly warming up. in fact, we had a couple of hours of it out at fitchburg. close to 80 out that way. that trend will continue this tonight, mainly clear for a lot of us. the exception, some low clouds, likely lingering down across buzzards bay, the cape and the islands. then as we get into tomorrow, we do feature quite a bit of sunshine. almost looks like i'm showing you a blank map here. that is the forecast. not much in the way of cloud cover or precipitation on wednesday. thursday will look like that as well. there is an ocean breeze. we will hold coolest at the coastline this afternoon. despite getting into sunnier skies. you take a look inland.

we have, indeed, started to warm on up. the other thing that we have going that makes it feel like summer outside today, the muggy start. dew point levels still running into the mid to upper 60's. notably dry air back across sudbury, ontario. that is going to be working in for tomorrow. we are going to drop the dew point levels back into the low 50's. for wednesday and thursday. we will bump it up slightly on friday. out ahead of the cool front. then behind it, not only are we ushering in much cooler weather, but very dry weather with dew points into the 0's here comes that change in the pattern. again, saturday, sunday, and even into monday. temperatures in the 60's. for highs. likely, the coolest day sunday into sunday night. 76-83 flarn. developing sun, coolest at the coastline. clearing overnight tonight. 50's in the cooler suburbs. 66 in boston. the forecast for tomorrow, mostly sunny skitz. lower humidity. 78-84. the 7-day forecast does feature a change in the temperatures. as we get in towards the end
