headquarters on the phone with more wreak details fours. >> reporter: the press conference wrapped up a while ago, that was an internal investigation that took the better part of the summer to complete due to fact in part that the alleged victim in the case, the pedestrian, who smacked the offduty officer's car with his umbrella took about five weeks to give a statement to police. the commissioner saying late this afternoon their investigation showed that there was absolutely no excessive fd with the offduty officer and the pedestrian who crossed paths at boylston street and arlington street back in may of this year. that offduty officer was making a right turn when the pedestrian was running across and believe he had had the right of way and the officer cut him off so he banged the back window with list umbrella. the commissioner said that the officer thought the window was broken which

the street after the pedestrian. now witnesses who spoke out that day of believed that the officer tackled this pedestrian to the ground, slapped his head into the ground, grabbed him and pushed his face into the pavement. the investigation showed by a number of witnesses none of that whatsoever happened. it was even a traffic camera from the intersection that actually showed the officer chasing after the pedestrian and you can see off in the distance what looks like the pedestrian falling on his own. then the officer getting into a typical police stance holding him with a knee on his back and hand on his shoulder but by police standards using no excessive force and walking him back to his police car. this investigation like i said took the better part of the summer to come to a head. the officer hasn't been suspended or disciplined as he has done nothing wrong. he remained on the force the entire time. as for the pedestrian he showed up to the police station here with his attorney. he is speaking to stations
