crash, police tell us were injured. two of them are in pretty bad shape. we're told, behind me, you can see the crash scene is still here and three or four cars were involved including this suv on its side here on the right. police say this was a stolen vehicle and the driver came around the corner and lost control and slammed into other cars. >> reporter: multicar chain-reaction crash after this land rovere flippedded on its side and slammed into at least two other vehicles. >> when he hit the curb, it flipped over police say the land rover was stolen but not calling this a police chase. >> at this point in time we're still trying to determine whether it was a pursuit. >> the officers had this car stopped in traffic here on mlk boulevard. at that time the individuals in that stolen car took off and made the turn on warren street

turn properly and flipped over. >> it was a police chase. it looked like it, because the land rover came down and officers behind him with the sirens on. so he was kind of picking up speed when he hit the curb right here, you know, he wasn't going to make it because he was going too fast. obviously, officers behind him chasing him. >> reporter: police say two people in the car including one juvenile were pinned. >> had to be returned to the hospital. police say a woman in another car was hospitalized, as well. >> one of the boys w was underneath him and the boy on top wasn't moving. >> reporter: ford says he was in the white van that was rearended. >> it push me, and i was just nervous. >> this is warren street in roxbury. you can see the crash scene here. flipped over on the side glass everywhere. a couple of the cars that were

are here, as well. police continue to investigate, warren street obviously continues to be blocked off at this point right there mlk boulevard. if you're driving this way you're not gonna get through. are in addition to the four people who are injured, one firefighter working on the scene helping to rescue people who are injured, as well. he had some glass in his eye. that's the latest in roxbury, i'm byron barnett, 7news. >> police are investigating a h aid. let's get to kimberly bookman for that. >> kim, i'm going to move out the way, you can see the center of all of it this honda. we have talked to witnesses out here on the scene and tell us the light right beyond the rite aid at the corner of main street and 129 here, the driver this honda blew right through a red light and into this parking lot. we understand, and you can see the video better from sky 7,

pedestrian who was crossing the street right in front the rite aid and two cars in the rite aid parking lot. none of the drivers are on the scene at this time. we believe they have been transported to hospitals. police are telling us this was a three-car crash and that there was a pedestrian involved but again witnesses saying that the driver of this honda blew through a red light, hit a pedestrian and then careened into two other cars. we continue to follow this. you can see it's still a very active investigation out here. crta the latest. for now, reporting live from wilmington, kimberly bookman, 7news. also breaking, a man accused of killings an army veteran in boston convicted of murder charges. he peter castillo showing no emotion after the verdict was announced. steve cooper was in the courtroom and has more on the case. >> adam, so everything here at the courthouse happened pretty quickly this afternoon, quickly the jury had just left the courtroom to begin their deliberations a little after

after that they returned to the courtroom with a verdict. >> is the defendant guilty or not guilty? guilty. >> reporter: no reaction from the defendant while his family cried in court after a jury took just 90 minutes to find 28-year-old peter castillo guilty of murder. castillo found guilty of shooting u.s. army veteran steven perez junior to death during an altercation in the theater district here in boston back in phone video and shown to the jury. >> this is another example of individuals carrying firearms in our city, unlicensed to do so and willing to using it at any moment in time. >> reporter: castillo took off to the dominican republic after the murder before he was captured there in 2015 and brought back to boston for trial. his distraught relatives left without comment but we caught up with his attorney.

of luggage on the sidewalk, removed an explosive device that was inside and then left with the luggage. >> also today, we learn that in the fbi's criminal complaint, there's video of the alleged bomber setting off explosions in his own backyard. >> here are the burn marks brandon gunnoe following the latest developments and in our control room idea what they removed from the bag but the fbi wants to ask them a few questions and we're getting a closer look at that alleged bomber's jersey backyard. >> reporter: the fbi is asking the public to take a good look at this wanted poster. investigators say the two men were caught on surveillance video touching a bomb that was left on the street corner in new york's chelsea neighborhood saturday where the bombing took place. the fbi says the men saw a piece of luggage on the sidewalk, removed the explosive inside and

wrapped in a plastic bag by a neighbor, did not detonate. investigators say they just want to talk to them and find out exactly what they did. >> they were out walking along the street. they saw the bag on the sidewalk. they remove what had turned out to be a device, a pressure cooker, and placed it on the sidewalk and rolledded the bag away, carried the bag away on the street. >> we learned in the fbi's criminal complaint, the acse backyard where you can clearly see burn marks in the grass, leading investigators to wonder if this is where he practiced making the bombs. the oh explosive device the found in was one of several planted in new york city and new jersey, one of the pressure cooker bombs went off saturday night injuring dozens of people. >> the bombing suspect is facing several charges. authorities say in his journal he referenced osama bin laden.

gunnoe, 7news. >> anger and outrage in north carolina. protestors asking for details on why an officer opened fire killing a black man and a father of seven in charlotte. several police officers, a number of them, were injured in the violence during the prototests and a major highway was shut down. today state leaders urge people to remain calm and now family of the man who died. tim caputo in the newsroom with the latest developments. >> there's still some discrepancy on witnesses and police on whether the 43-year-old man was holding a gun or if he was holding a book. >> last night police used tear gas on protestors when things got violent and officers and city threerdz are prepared for another long night. >> protestors marching down the street in charlotte this afternoon. so far it's been much calmer than the protest that erupted last night after a police officer shot and killed a black

police say 43-year-old keith scott had a handgun. >> he stepped out, posing a threat to the officers, an officer subsequently fired his weapon, striking the subject. >> reporter: officers encountered scott while trying to serve warrants on a different man at the same apartment complex. multiple witnesses on social media and interviews said scott had no gun and societying in his car reading a book awaiting his son's arrival from school. >> we've been told that >> no, he didn't. >> he would sit out here every day and wait for his son to get off with us. >> a weapon, a hand gun? i can also tell you we did not find a book that has been made reference to. >> reporter: during last night's violence protestors said 16 officers were hurt, police calling for calm tonight but prepared for more protests. >> i do encourage you to be

that may be in response to the latest polls. an nbc news wall street journal poll finds 69% of voters say they have concerns with trump's comments about women, immigrants and muslims. >> reporter: in contrast, the polls show that 64% of voters have concerns about hillary clinton's handling of classified information and use of a private email server while secretary of state. clinton went back on the campaign trail today in the battleground state of she says too many african-americans end up dead at the hands of police. >> we have two more names to add to a list of african-americans killed by police officers in these encounters. it's unbearable. >> and it needs to become intolerable. >> clinton went on to walk a thin line saying both police and communities of all races need to do better. >> candidates will continue to campaign in battleground states this week that's before the first presidential debate on

and high temps on saturday and sunday, below normal. mid-60s on sunday with lows headed down to the 40s. right now in town we're 81. worcester 74. fitchburg at 83. document temps running into the 40s. yesterday these were up in the upper 60s to around 70. so the air dried up nicely earlier today, and that's the case for tonight, mostly clear, comfortable. lows between 52 and 64 in downtown boston. around 64. most of us in the 50s early tomorrow warm. but again a dry heat if you will. fall officially begins at 10:21 in the morning. temps between 82 and 87. boston 83 tomorrow afternoon. cape ann in the lower 80s as we look west into metro west and the mayor and the monadnock region, numbers will be in the middle to upper 80s. fitchburg at 87. tomorrow tailgating will be warm but this time of year the sun doesn't have the firepower that it does in june or july, so even
