our officers were informed that this car was stolen. >> reporter: witnesses say it looked like a police chase to them. >> it was a police chase, it looked like, because, you know, the land rover came down and the officers were behind him with the sirens on. so he was kind of picking up speed when he hit the curb right here. >> the spherts have this car stopped in traffic here on mlk boulevard. at that time the vitdz this that stolen car took off and made that turn on to warren street where they did not negotiate the turn properly. >> police suv, including one juvenile, were rushed to the hospital along with a woman in another car. brenton ford says he was in the white van that was rearended by the suv. >> i do feel lucky because anything could have happened. and lucky not anymore. >> again, police continue to work the scene here where this suv, stolen suv, according to police, has flipped over and

police are saying that one slide been hospitalized with life threat tension injuries. another in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. but warren street here in roxbury is still blocked off because of the accident. i'm byron barnett, 7news. making news on a deadly crash in wilmington. witnesses are saying a driver hit and killed a pedestrian before plowing into two more cars in a parking lot. for this, let's go to 7's kimberlykm kim, police telling us the victim was a 52-year-old wop, standing right at the entrance of the rite aid right there. it's at the intersection of route 38 and route 129 when witnesses say a female driver blew through a red light and hit her. police say the vehicle struck two other cars. no one was in either of those cars. police say the pedestrian who was hit was taken by an ambulance to lehi hospital where

the driver of the car that hit her was also taken for medical treatment. the rite aid is right next door to a mcdonald's where an employee manning the drive-through window saw the entire thing unfolded. >> i saw a bunch of cars and someone laying on the ground. someone ran outside and called 911. it was very chaotic. >> we heard a crash and looked outside and that's when a few of thal >> right now the driver or the victim's name are being released. police are still trying to get in touch of their families. they continue to investigate. kimberly bookman, 7news. >> a jury convicted 28-year-old peter castillo of murdering an army svelte back in 2012. jurors reached that verdict in just an hour and a half. steve cooper at the courthouse with reaction. steve. >> yeah, everything happened very quickly here this afternoon. the 12-member jury left the

very quickly with a verdict. is the defendant guilty or not guilty. >> reporter: guilty. >> reporter: peter castillo had no reaction while his family cried in court after a jury that deliberated for less than two hours found the 28-year-old guilty of first-degree murder. the 12 member panel reaching the unanimous verdict that castillo shot steven perez junior to death in the theater district back in 2012. a deadly altercation that was captured on several cel cameras, video that was shown at the trial. >> thest was very strong and compelling that the defendant committed murder in the first degree. >> reporter: castillo bolted the country after the murder and arrested in the dominican republic back in 2015 before he was brought back here to face the charges. his relatives weren't talking after the verdict. >> we respect the verdict. we agree with it strongly. he will exercise all his rights

courthouse friends gather to remember a young man who served his country and they say did deserve any of this. >> we're just happy that this is all over with and finally we have some closure. >> castillo will be sentenced on monday morning. that's when he'll be sentenced by the judge. the mandatory life in prison without the possibly of parole here. live in boston tonight, steve cooper, 7news. >> the fbi searching for answers now from these two men. investigat captured them emptying a suitcase found on a manhattan sidewalk and then taking off with it. and inside that suitcase investigators say was a bomb. >> right now those two men are not considered suspects at all. but witnesses are talking. >> yeah, police say they were caught on surveillance video removing an explosive device from a piece of luggage on saturday night. it happened in new york's chelsea neighborhood just blocks

exploded. the fbi is asking for the public's help finding the men so they can ask a few questions. the explosive device they found was one of several planted in new jersey over the weekend. the one that went off saturday night injured dozens of people. >> we looked at the video quite a number of times and it shows that they were out walking along the street. they saw the bag on the sidewalk. they admired the bag. they opened t to be a device, a pressure cooker and placedded it on the swat and they rolled the bag away, or carried the bag away on the street. >> so the bombing suspect, ahmad rahami, is facing several charges including the use of weapons of mass destruction. rahami is in the hospital recovering from injuries. he was shot during a confrontation with police. as you can see his injuries there be officials say they are waiting for him to be medically cleared before interviewing him. in the newsroom, jadiann thompson, 7news. also on 7, chaos in

protestors and police clash after an officer shot and killed a black han. his family is saying he had a. book. police say he had a gun. >> tonight there's demand for more answers. tim caputo breaks down the shooting that sparked unrest in charlotte. >> adam, kim, officers were at the apartment complex yesterday afternoon to serve warrants on a different man but came across 43-year-old keith scott and now there's a question as to what exactly happened when officers car. >> reporter: a small peaceful march in charlotte this afternoon, a stark contrast to the protests that erupted last night. protestors shook down a highway and 16 officers were hurt. a violent sprons after an officer shot 43-year-old keith scott tuesday afternoon. police claim scott had a hand gun. witnesses say he was holding a book. >> we've been told that mr. scott had a gun. >> know did.
