fall like it. fall. it was good out there. that's the end that with showers on the way for later on tonight and tomorrow morning during the morning commute. i think we can move the rain out of here around lunch time tomorrow. although it's hickly to linger in the cape and south coast. but for everyone else a little bit of sunshine tomorrow afternoon but overall an unsettled week shaping up. recently jet stream has been looking like this. that's why it's been so dry but then as we work over the next couple of days would have this little area of low pressure break away stream which will remain across southern canada and it's been cut off. you are cut off. no more. what will happen is that this area of low pressure just kind of sits and meanders and wobbles. it can't go anywhere because again it's cut away from the main and so when have you an area of low pressure in this location here it's able to grab some of that atlantic moisture and produce a lot of clouds and do i think a scattering of some showers so we will have showers tomorrow morning. we're dry in the afternoon and then that slow moving area of low pressure just wobbles across
5:52 pm
next several days so wednesday right through the weekend will feature mostly cloudy skies, not much rain wednesday and thursday. just a slight chance of a few isolated showers but between the isolated showers there will be pockets of drizzle and mist so not like these days are summer days where you are sunny and 20% chance of showers of cloudy skies even of these days then friday and saturday and into sunday this area of low pressure again takes the long way home if you will. it wobbles dunn through kentucky and then it begins to manufacture across new england as question work ro so this is what we need again this won't end the drought but you have to start ending it somehow and a pattern like this is a good start. so the first wave of rain that's on the move here it is right here. western new york, western pennsylvania and you see how skinny it is. again a narrow ribbon of rain so that's why i think we can at least salvage tomorrow afternoon. right now the numbers are in the 60's. the city at 62. not as chilly tonight with the clouds on increase and a few showers after midnight.
5:53 pm
tomorrow morning showers then i think they will taper off around noon or 1:00 p.m. we'll see some sun develop tomorrow afternoon, boston west. so here is your time line again showers moving a cross new england during the morning commute so you will need the rain gear. but i don't think you need it all day long that. rain should begin to taper off midday and certainly early tomorrow afternoon and even some brakes in the overcast working into metrowest as well as worcester hills and merrimac valley. how much rain is on the way? i think about a quarter to in some location is a third of an inch of ra just an isolated shower on wednesday but much cooler. temperatures tomorrow in the low to mid 70's, temperature on wednesday only in the lower 60's and cooler yet for thursday and fridayment a lot of clouds. again those days are not featured all day rain but they do feature a lot of clouds. pockets of drizzle and mist with a few isolated showers. see you at 6:00. >> anchor: coming up next on 7 news at 5:30, baby on the way for the "today" show savannah guthrie but will it be a boy or a girl?
