>> anchor: down on the job. mbta officials releasing this picture of what appears to be an employee lying down in the money room and this is actually scattered on a nearby table. >> anchor: that incident was never investigate and the worker never identified but the mbta wanted you to see it. this surveillance photo inside the mbta money room shows a on the floor behind a wall and you can see cash scattered on a nearby table. the picture was taken in february and also appears to show another t worker off to the right. the mbta released the photo as it pushes for privatizing its fare collection system. currently those duties are handled by the boston carmen's union which counts $142 million a year this that money room. the mbta called photos troubling and release adstatement saying there is no logical reason for a transit system to be in the cash
6:15 pm
the t should focus on doing things it does well and in situations like the money room where there are other people who are much better at it than the t is, we should talk to them about having them provide us with that service. the carmen's union wouldn't comment on the picture because it said the employee lying down isn't one of its members i'm spokesperson said the union speculates the two individuals in the photo may be t managers or even supervisors. the carmen's union is fighting the state's effort to outsource work to count fares. it's nothing more then a distraction than the fact they failed to make unnecessary investments to make more reliable service to riders and overhaul management. the t is pushing forward saying it expects to a proposed contract for cash handling operations next month. >> anchor: we saw it in trey daerr's live shot. wet weather it is on its way and with us through the weekend. so we have to break it down in

false, negative ads, i'm still the kelly ayotte you know- and i'm still fighting for you. >> anchor: a big weekend at fenway and unfortunately the wet weather with us as well even at now when we saw trey daerr a little bit ago the tarp was on field and it's also very cool. expecting ered showers again tomorrow night and also drizzly weather as we get into sunday afternoon's game. current temperatures are in the
6:19 pm
not just the wet weather or the cool temperatures but there is also a pretty strong breeze that's coming in out of the northeast, ten to even 20 miles per hour. so here is the rain working through the area from south to north. we have scattered showers throughout worcester county and then as you take a closer into boston we saw it, a lot of wet weather in fenway and a couple of seconds ago i was even seeing yellow colorings in here indicating some heavier rainfall. now take it into southeastern mass heavier rainfall bridgewater out through kingston, duxbury as well. these spokes, these bands of the yellow and oranges, the heavier rainfall continued to track from south to north and while it is widespread scattered showers expected through not only tonight but through the better part of tomorrow, there will be some times of dry weather and also some times of heavy rainfall. so going through the time line here overnight tonight i think we can break apart some of those showers at least through later evening hours.
6:20 pm
widespread showers could become heavy at times through tomorrow morning, still some of those isolated downpours that work through the area until about midday. then i think into the afternoon some of us could catch some areas of no rain, sometimes, then we continue with the scattered showers activity as we make it into sunday as well. so your heaviest rainfall expected overnight tonight through the first half of tomorrow and if there is a wetter of the two weekend days, that would be saturday rather than sunday. but we need evdr half an inch to an inch and a half and quite possibly in some of those harder hit areas two inches of rainfall. now hurricane matthew big news tonight and if you look very closely you can see a very well-defined eye to this storm. now a category four hurricane and, yes, this escalated very quickly if you have been keeping an eye on it. tracking to the west southwest but expected to make a sharp turn to the north as we get into this weekend and probably taking a whole lot of damaging wind and
6:21 pm
as we make it into the beginning of next week as that storm still packs a punch. it's really feeding off the warm waters of the caribbean and into the bahamas. now as far as the forecast models go, once you get past wednesday everything just kind of falls apart as far as certainty is concerned. so it's tricky to pen down will this be any card in the deck for as we get into later parts of next week? so it's not in my forecast at this time but it is still something we're going to have to 7 on 7 keeping things cool but at least sunshine comes back to make an appearance by the middle of next week. 7 sports coming to you live from fenway park where two days after the red sox celebrated their first division title in three years, the team is set for a weekend full of celebrations at a very wet, cold and windy fenway park all in honor of david ortiz but nothing can take

question heading into sunday's divisional show down, who will it be quarterback for patriots? injury report of course is out for friday, jimmy garappolo and jacoby brissett both practicing for a fourth day in a row and both are officially listed as questionable for sunday's game. no matter who gets the start of quarterback against the bills julian edelman is stressing act to within an persevere is never just about one guy. both of them have wins so it's great and all but this is a new team and a new goal and it all depends on everyone doing their own job not just the quarterbacks so that's kind of how i focus on it. >> reporter: become at fenway tarp is on the field. the rain is coming down first pitch scheduled for 7:00. not sure if that will be the case. that's going to do it for
