>> what garoppolo take the field? what sources are saying about who could start against buffalo tomorrow. first here's a live look at downtown boston, can you see the gloomy and gray day bringing much needed rain to the area. >> anchor: but could it be a while before we see the sunshine. bri eggers has a first check of the forecast, and appear update on hurricane matthew. >> we'll start there, because this is where everybody's eyes are, hurricane m since felix in 2007. a category 4 at this point. wind about 150 miles per hour, it's stationary at this point but will eventually start that northerly track and head still as a major hurricane through the caribbean sea and the forecast cone is shifting closer and closer, the tracks and the models are taking it into haiti rather than jamaica. it's not really expected with

hurricane, a category 3, through tuesday, wednesday, tracking through the bahamas as a category 3 hurricane and still by thursday we're still looking at matthew as a major hurricane. we can't really nail down a forecast past that point, but i'll show you the spaghetti models, we call them spaghetti models because they look like spaghetti strings. we're looking for these lines to agree with one another. but this is encouraging because the latest runs h it out to sea for us. we can take it out of the deck of car that we could see it track up the east coast. but for now it's just something we're watching, it's just a possibility in that deck of cards. rain totals for today, beneficial rainfall, about an inch in bed information, three quarters of an inch in boston, an inch and three quarters for nantucket. we're continuing with this pattern, the damp dreary pat western this cutoff low hanging around with us. though tomorrow i don't believe

hanging around for us. we'll get a closer look at the timeline in a few minutes. >> also from the night team, this is the damage left behind after a truck plowed into a house in dedham. it narrowly missed a woman who was lying down inside. our reporter spoke to the homeowner. trors homeowners say when this truck plowed through their bedroom it sounded like a bomb went off. tonight they are just grateful that no one was injured. a close call for a cou dedham. >> if he would have went straight ahead my wife would have been gone. >> reporter: the truck crashed through this brick wall into the bedroom where she was sleeping. >> i was just getting out of the shower and i heard this tremendous noise and the whole house shook, i thought we got hit by a meteorite. >> reporter: the impact brought down the wall, spreading debris everywhere, narrowly missing the exact spot where his wife had been lying down.

she rolled over to look at the end table for the clock to see what time it was, and that's when it hit and everything fell on the area she had had just vacated in the bed. >> reporter: when firefighters arrived they had to pull the driver out of the truck. they say he had some sort of medical emergency causing the accident. the family thankful for this brick wall they say protected them. >> the wall caused the truck to swerve off and go to the left and it just took the corner of the house off. >>ep driver, a man who lives in the neighbor, will recover. >> i hope he's okay. the truck was really damaged. >> reporter: the homeowners say the rest of their house is structurally fine. as for the driver of that truck, he's still recovering at a local hospital tonight. >> anchor: police are still investigating after two people were shot in dedham this morning. it happened in a parking lot next to a crowded ballroom on bridge street. sources say one person was shot

ricochet. the victims injuries though are not life threatening. >> anchor: a college dorm goes up in flames in new hampshire. fire crews rush to morton hall at dartmouth the flames started on the 4th floor ceiling, the students were safely evacuated the cause is under investigation. >> police in arlington issuing a warning about coyotes after one attacked and killed a family's pet. sick for yeah war en neighbors and police. >> reporter: folks who live in this quiet arlington neighborhood know they live near a wooded area and that means goodsing there to be plenty of wildlife including coyotes. a warning in arlington for dog owners to be on alert. police say a coyote attacked and killed a family pet. >> it's kind of scary, you know, but i'm not surprised. >> it happened at a home next to this park 7:00 a.m. friday

couldn't find the dog, so the coyote came into the yard and took the dog and brought the dog to a wooded area. >> reporter: the family found their dog's body, it was a small west high land terrier, the same size as mary cummings' terrier pip. mary is well aware she has coyotes for neighbors. >> i've seen them in the park. i've seen them coming out of the park in the morning and walking a cross the street. >> reporter: arlington police warning everyone to be careful. it's a warning people are taking to heart. >> i can't imagine living with that, i don't know how you'd ever get over it. >> reporter: an article on the police say the most common times to see coyotees would be dawn and dusk, but it's not unheard of to see them at other times as well. victoria warren, 7 news night team. >> reporter: we're following more news tonight, the 6-year-old student injured during a school shooting in south carolina has died.

-year-old boy opened fire. a teacher was hurt the teen confirmed his father before driving to the school the motive has not yet been released. federal investigators are still gathering information about what cautioned a deadly crash in new jersey, when a commuter train crashed into the station. investigators have recovered one of the event recorders from the damaged train. they say the data will help them determine what the engineer was the crash. >> a new test result suggests that some mosquitoes in florida are still carrying the zika virus. the tests are preliminary and still need to be confirmed by government health experts. at least 35 people in miami beach have contracted the virus so far. officials have also been spraying the area to kill infected mosquitoes. now to the race for the white house. presidential election is just 38 days away. hillary clinton is off the campaign trail today but still

universe. the hillary clinton twitter account started tweeting at 3:0g haters who described america as hopeless and broken, that's a swipe at donald trump and his twitter tirade friday about former miss universe. in a series of tweets he called her his worst miss universe and disgusting and advised people to check out her sex tape. trump is hitting back today, taking aim at and making it a campaign issue calling hillary clinton an enabler in a "new york times" interview. meanwhile the vice-presidential candidates are prepareing for their debate on tuesday. >> anchor: the patriots ready for week four. garoppolo has been on the practice field, but there's still no firm wore on who will start against the bills. tray has more. >> next week at this time we'll be on the eve of the biggest

>> a free falls onto power lines in jamaica plain earlier today, you can see the tree blocking the entire road. workers had to deal with wet conditions as they cut the tree and had to remove it piece by piece. obviously haven't seen the wet weather in a while. so definitely making things damp and knocking stuff over. >> i know we needed it, but it was a damper on a saturday. >> we needed the rain, so beneficial rainfall today. tomorrow it's just damp and drizy for us. i don't think we'll be picking up significant rainfall. sunshine returning on tuesday. of course we're watching ma knew because that could have everything to do with the way that our forecast turns out as we get into next weekend. rain totals for today, almost an inch in bedford. close to three quarters of an inch in boston. this is food news, -- good news, but it doesn't take us out of the drought conditions.

60 degrees at kickoff there and maybe you're headed to fenway, of course last big game there for big papi, at least regular season home game. hurricane matthew got to check in on this, we've got our latest update at 11:00 p.m., still a category 4 storm and it's starting that track to the north northwest, very slowly but surely and it's looking like that track is shifting closer to haiti rather than where we had it over jamaica last night. this is the official forecast track fromhe hurricane center and it's updated about every three hours, so we're keeping a close eye on this, so past wednesday, past thursday it's really up in the air. as i mentioned before, it has everything to do with with with how our forecast turns out next weekend. a lot these forecast models are not turning back into new england like they were last night but rather taking it out to sea, but it's still something we need to watch. these storms as they head to the bahamas, they can track up the
