chief. >> reporter: campanello reaching national acclaim and honored by the white house after developing the angel program which puts heroin addicts in treatment instead of behind bars. to date, the chief says he has put more than 500 addicts this treatment through his attorney the chief said he will fight for his job. the chief is disappointed by this decision and strongly believes it is without justification. this investigation has been a witch-hunt from the beginning and the reasons given by the city for terminating the the original inquiry they were conducting. >> anchor: now there is another investigation tonight to another police officer also for allegations of inappropriate behavior. the mayor said she will not comment at all on that. as for the chief he has 30 days to appeal his firing. all his attorney would say though is that they held his contract was in violation several times. in gloucester tonight, kelly o'hara, 7 news.

emergency. right now the powerful storm is a category four hurricane with wind speeds of 140 miles per hour. it's moving north at 6 miles per hour. several i land nations also bringing for impact. bringers is waving myth uand keeping an eye on the track storm. >> anchor: a slow moving storm but a very powerful one and relatively small at least based on real estate covered here but very, very powerful around the eye of that storm. as you mention before moving very slowly to the north at about 6 we have been waving it through the day and not a whole lot of change as we move through the day. her warning posted up through the southern and central bahamas as well as haiti and also eastern cuba. tropical storm warning posted for jamaica. within 35 miles of that eye you can get some hurricane force wind flash-flooding and mud slides expected, haiti could see 15 to 25 inches of rain locally town 40 inches hard to even imagine. storm surge 7 to ten foot waves

official forecast track from the national hurricane center this was updated at 5:00 p.m. still taking it through haiti, cuba as a category four storm into the bahamas as a category three still a major hurricane and this forecast track the latest update is sliding a little farther to the west. that does include the coastline of florida even up through carolinas as well. this is why we need to watch this storm so very closely within the next few days pass four or five days out all bets are off as far as any we'll update you on more details to come in just a few minutes. >> anchor: we know you will. thank you, bri. right now hurricane matthew is this monster storm causing issues in the islands. water is already knee deep in jamaica. more rain is on the way. haiti, columbia and aruba all feeling the storms effects as well. eastern cuba is likely next. more than half a million people there are bracing for the storm. this i have evacuations under way and then as bri mentioned the concern shifts to the u.s.

weekend washout of we had a great time at the making aevent yesterday with some mist of we were able to pick up some beneficial rainfall especially in eastern massachusetts orleans on the cape, three and a half inches or more of nantucket with close to three and a half. boston with almost an inch. so that sets us up for a good start to object. i know we have only been through a couple days through this month so far but we are already above average. it's been a while since we had it that way. there is still a long way to go throw that drought t drought conditions. this will be updated on thursday morning and of course we'll keep you posted. highs today as warm as they have been in almost a week. we saw 68 for a high in boston with the sunshine out, low 70's, nashua, bedford, down through norwood, plymouth, even coming in at 70 for a high this afternoon. current temperatures are still a little cool as the sun goes down but still enjoyable. 5 for boston, 62 for worcester. we did stay dry inside of 495

have proof the sunshine still existed but you can see the clouds and the showers that are working through central and western massachusetts and some of these cells have been able to drop some pretty significant rainfall. we've even seen report reports from warren of 1.7 inches just as the quick little blip drops on by. they are all tracking from the northeast to the southwest and that leaves all of us inside of 495 dry for the rest of this evening of that's where those showers will stay moving to west of worcester county. so running through the time line here you can see that line departing, clouds moving in for the overnight hours and then into tomorrow morning you might think it's a rinse and repeat we're back with the drizzle. we're back with the gloom but it does break away as we get into tomorrow afternoon, we get the sunshine back and we keep it around for the rest of the workweek. tonight mostly cloudy, not all that cool, 50 to 54. then into tomorrow while we start out with early fog and drizzle we get the sunshine in the afternoon, 59 to 64.

high pressure will be in control but it's also going to bring that on shore flow so a wind out of the northeast will keep temperatures a touch cooler especially along the coastline. hurricane matthew still a category four storm, major hurricane, expected to make its way through haiti, cuba as we make it into tomorrow. wednesday, thursday, tracking through the bahamas. this is a slow moving storm but here is the most recent update from the national hurricane center and you can see that cone of uncertainty has slid a little course any storms that passes through the bahamas it does put the entire east bound on alert. will we see any impact from matthew. if we do it will happen next weekend so of course that's why we have watching matthew there and we will keep you posted but for now still some big question marks there. >> anchor: the rest of the ac had four games to get a leg up on the patriots without tom
