>> christa: i love alicia keys. i love she does the no make-up thing, don't caring and looks beautiful. >> sarah: great inspiration. >> chris: it makes getting ready a lot easier, right? temperatures outside this morning, upper 50s in boston down through the south shore. 10mph breeze in boston right now. but the wind is on shore. so we dragged in some low-level moisture. visibility okay. we haven't had a lot of areas of fog, but we have low clouds and moisture allowing for patches of driz a the radar not showing anything, but we have some patches of low-level moisture now. if you look far enough off to the north and to the east, you see some of this drier air downstream of maine and basically essentially crossing over nova scotia. that will back into new england as the high pressure settles in. i do expect the gloomest part of the day to be the morning with patches of drizzle around. we'll break into at least partly sunny skies.

from suspension. >> this is 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: good tuesday morning, everybody. thanks for waking up with us. i'm sarah french. >> christa: 5:00 a.m., bright and early. i'm christa delcamp. we'll start things off for you this morning with hurricane matthew. this is a category four storm. it's pounding haiti's southwestern peninsula as we speak. and the country is seeing strong winds and heavy rains. this morning we're also seeing the damage matthew is leaving behind. this deadly storm is causing cruise ships to change course. florida and north carolina to declare states of emergency, as well. we have the latest advisory just in. let's go to meteorologist chris lambert with that. >> chris: christa, that eye of the hurricane just south and southwest on the tip of haiti, about the make landfall this morning. it will have a high impact there, devastating parts of haiti and torrential rains through the dominican back through haiti. mudslide potential as locally over two feet of rain a possibility. slow-moving storm off to the
