>> anchor: now at 7 a convicted rapist gets a visit from police. >> anchor: a fiery crash as a plane goes down in connecticut. >> reporter: few clouds in the night tonight much. >> red sex ready for a sweep. but tonight the sox say no big changes are >> anchor: and. >> watch me whip whip watch me nay nay. >> anchor: d mac getting his groove on and making a difference. >> 7 news at 7:00 starts now. >> anchor: first at 7 we do begin with breaking news with crews on the scene of a small plane crash in east hartford connecticut. cell phone video captures that scene moments after impact.

>> anchor: the passenger is unknown. >> reporter: a witness driving home from work said he saw the plane going down and the pilot jumping out of the plane before it crashed. the other passenger has not recovered. cell phone video shows the moment after a plane crashed in east hartford. >> saw the plane come down. hit the wires. then hit a pole. then he smashed in the ou >> reporter: the plane was coming down low. he knew it wasn't going to make it. >> i know the pilot jumped out of the plane and suffered a burnt arm and unfortunately the passenger didn't make it. >> reporter: 2 people were on the plane and the pilot was rushed to the hospital. that's all we know at this point. >> there were 2 occupants of that air craft. one of which was transported to the hospital. the second is unaccounted for at this time. >> reporter: the plane went down

at the hartford brain ard airport. there were a lot of people driving home from work when the plane crashed right in front of them. a woman in the van was almost hit by the plane. >> i heard a lady screaming. i pulled back around. she's all right. she came back to our office. she was in shock and came back to the hospital. >> reporter: the faa is investigating the cause of this cr news. >> anchor: parents in weymouth on alert after a rapist is spotted in a public library. parents say that's not enough. byron barnett has the story. >> reporter: the presence of level 3 sex offender richard gardener causing an uproar in this weymouth neighborhood. >> you got 3 little boys over there. a couple kids over there. 2 girls next door to me.

kidnaping and raping children in the 1980s. after 30 years in probation he was released on probation last week and allowed to move in with his parents. are kids playing in the neighborhood? >> not as much no. >> reporter: police went to the home after questions arose about whether gardener was living where he was registered. officials say police told him to leave when he showed up here saturday evening. ear cited for entering the crane library in quinsy. back in the weymouth neighborhood amanda hill and others posted fliers warning residents about gardener. she says she started an online petition calling for gardener and others like him to be with gps tracking devices. >> their rights surpass the

>> anchor: identifying the driver of this car who hit and killed a pedestrian in medford. the driver hit a somerville man and fled the scene. the somerville man was taken to the hospital where he passed away. 2015 gray honda civic with scuff marks under the right brake light. >> anchor: where a body was found next to a park. park is also near the city's northwest elementary school and police are investigatin about the suspects arrested in connection with a murder mystery in orange. accused of killing a 95-year-old man and leaving his wife seriously hurt. the great grandmother of one of those suspects is telling her side of the story to 7 news. steve cooper has more. >> i'm soap sorry. i'm sorry. why why. >> reporter: after learning her great granddaughter smith and

heroin. >> brittany, i love you. i'm so sorry that you did this. i don't understand it. >> reporter: one of the suspects will appear in a virginia courtroom clearing their way for the eventual return to massachusetts. it's then we expect prosecutors to shed light on a motive for the murder. >> anchor: a fugitive from washington d.c. causing serious concerns right here in boston. a ziz today. where police say he was causing a disturbance. investigators say he caused a commotion at a jewelry store and left a suspicious package outside a state building. that package turned out to be a koran. police discovered that asmanny is wanted in washington d.c. accused of making bomb threats in reagan international airport this month.

thursday. that's isolated at best. that does not look like significant rain. the city had a low of 44. norwood had a low of 26. boston, worcester, many of us our coldest since the middle of may. right now they are 40s and 50s. the city at 55. norwood at 48. high pressure spent much of the day with us. for most of the week not going anywhe as a cold front swings through on thursday high pressure takes over. pictures on the social media feeds this evening showing a beautiful sun set. overnight tonight and prevent temps from free falling overnight tonight and tomorrow morning. with partly cloudy skies it will still be chilly but not as cold as we were this morning.

tomorrow morning. jackets and sweaters a great idea. norwood 35. boston 49. beverly at 40 degrees. through the day tomorrow more sunshine seasonable. with a southeast wind coastal locations boston along the south shore low to mid 60s. north of town mid and upper 60s. in the worcester hills, keen at 68. on the cape mashpee 62. and nantucket at 60 degrees. thursday here comes that cool front with mostly cloudy skies. maybe pockets of drizzle. we will end the day with a few isolated showers. unlike the cool front that came through southern new england with the beneficial rain this doesn't have tropical moisture to feed off to tap into.
