>> this is 7news now. >> nancy:>> kris: good morning,s "today in new england" starts in a few minutes. our top story the work boston police officers shot in east boston. we're following breaking details overnight. the officers were responding to reports of a person on blackstone street in east the police commissioner calling it a domestic incident gone bad. right now we know both of those officers are in what's being described as "extremely critical condition." police tell us those officers were in surgery overnight. that suspect shot and killed by police. according to investigators, he was armed with a rifle and was wearing a ballistic vest. the shooting causing chaos in this usually quiet eastie neighborhood. a shelter-in-place order has been lifted for this morning, and police say the scene is now
