father. instead that, little girl ended up shot. she is at the hope as we speak. she was obviously caught in the crossfire. she was shot once, the commissioner says. the bullet going through the two-year-old's hand into her leg. miraculously, she is expected to be okay. and the commissioner says the shooting went down just after 4:00 in this neighborhood. off of dudley square. fast man on a scooter drove up to the side of the car, fired into it. that toddler got shot. the commissioner is angry tonight and says the community take a listen. >> you know, senseless shooting. and i'm a little disappointed. i wish we had more cooperation. obviously, the father here is a known gang kid to us. who also is not telling us the truth of what happened here. it is unfortunate. >> reporter: now, lts of bullets fired in this neighborhood. you can see that window blown out. several windows blown out. in this area.

hampshire next week. stay with 7 news on air and on-line for coverage of the race for the white house. dan hausle will be in las vegas this wednesday with live reports on the final debate. >> anchor: new at 6:00: a sinking s.u.v. finally lifted out of spy pond in arlington. complete strangers saved the woman driver who was trapped inside when it plunged into the water. the dramatic rescue caught on camera. you can see in the video, the man trying to grab the woman as her s.u.v. begins to go under. john cuoco was live from arlington. you spoke with those rescuers. >> reporter: well, we now know this driver will not face criminal charges after her s.u.v. went into the pond here. arlington police pulling this s.u.v. from spy pond saturday. they say it ended up in the water when its driver, a 68-year-old woman from medford, was trying to back into a parking spot friday afternoon. going up and over the curb and into the pond. the s.u.v. began slowly sinking. that is when three men jumped

diving into the cold water, making a miraculous save. getting her to dry land as the s.u.v. went under. >> she was very, very scared and had taken in water. and she knew she was dying. she just figured this was it. >> reporter: police say the woman was conscious and alert when she was taken out of the water. she was treated for mild hypothermia at the hospital. >> their efforts open up that car and helped the woman out of the car and got her to shore. we are crediting them with helping save this woman's life. >> reporter: dan frazier and his friend visiting from australia say they didn't think twice. >> she was floating on her back. her legs were up. on top of the water. and it was just like... you know, as hard as it was to pull her in, it was wonderful to see her floating. >> she was sinking a little bit. and anyway, i took over from there and pulled her into shore. reporth they say they would do it all again.

an outpouring of support and love for these officers. as we get more details, we will find out more about the suspect. >> more news tonight. fast deadly plot stopped in kansas. police say militia members were targeting muslims. the f.b.i. says the arrests of these three men is the result of a dangerous months-long undercover operation. graphic details about the foiled bomb plot of the f.b.i.'s press conference on friday. but agents believe the suspects' motives were clear. >> these charges are based on eight months of investigation by the f.b.i. that is alleged to have taken the investigators deep into a hidden culture of hatred and violence. >> reporter: throughout the investigation, the suspects referred to so malies and muslims as cockroaches and made violent threats against them. during one conversation, agents say patrick stein said,

dip them in pig's blood before you shoot them." he is also quoted in the aft as saying "the only good muslim is a dead muslim." an f.b.i. informant and undercover agent monitored the conversations by recording meetings and phone calls and using a tracking device on stein's vehicle. >> they stockpiled firearms, ammunition and explosives components. they prepared a manifesto describing their beliefs to be published after the bombing. >> reporter: officers seized nearly a mic ammunition in allen's home. agents say the suspects planned for the attack to happen the day after election day. information released on friday shows that when one of the suspects curtis allen was arrested for domestic battery, three days later, the other two suspects were arrested. >> these are very serious allegations and the defendants are innocent until proven guilty. but if convicted, they could face life in federal prison. >> reporter: all three men are
