that designed the school security system and the cleaning company for the school. the 24-year-old colleen ritzer of andover was raped and murdered inside danvers high school back in 2013. she was a second-year teaching math there. her killer, 14-year-old philip chism, one of her students followed her into the ladies bathroom and attacked her with a box-cutter. he is now serving 40 years to life in prison. the suit says the family is answers to several questions, including why was no one monitoring the school security cameras. why was colleen in the academic wing all by herself? and what measures are being taken to improve the security at the school? the ritzer family says it wants compensation to enhance school safety and to continue colleen's legacy through nonprofit organizations. the family says it seeks no personal benefit or financial compensation from the lawsuit. that is the latest live in lawrence, i'm byron barnett, 7

thank you. right how to we are learning more about a teen tragedy in brockton. police say the driver who struck a boy in the street is also a teenager. now the father of the teen killed is talking about the accident. let's head out to jonathan hall in brockton now. he has the latest on what happened here. jon? >> reporter: yeah, christa. a tough one. english is not the first language for the father of this young boy. no mat what language you speak, it is difficult to young. 14-year-old madio djala was struck and killed by a ford escape in brockton last night. >> how are you doing? >> reporter: the father of the freshman speaking out about the death of his son.

>> reporter: the 14-year-old was riding his bike on route 28 near the brockton food mart. that vehicle was heading in the opposite direction. >> everything i have heard about the young man this morning was that he was an excellent student, a wonderful young man, model citizen. >> reporter: the accident happened just before 7:00. it is unclear why the 18-year-old at the wheel struck the boy. that driver did stop and is cooperating with the brockton police. >> one of the aspects of the investigators is that there may have vehicle that could have influenced what happened without making contact, actually. >> reporter: accident reconstruction teams spent hours at the scene last night. today flowers appeared near the roadway. the brockton community very upset by the boy's death. as are his classmates at brockton high school. officers say the driver who was very shaken has not been charged. >> this morning, investigators are seeking a warrant to remove the black box from the vehicle that struck the young man.

if you want to walk over and check out the giant pumpkin, head on over. it is nice out there. those winds are out of the west and southwest. that is helping bring in some warm temperatures. it is a warmer day today. i don't think we will get to our record of 84 degrees set back in 1945. boston probably going to get to 80 today. worcester, mid-70's. the record for worcester today, 81 degrees. from 1961. 1963. not record-breaking. still a really nice day. this is the 24-hour temperature change. degrees warmer than this time yesterday. but down along the cape no, change. so yesterday, along the cape, it was a nice day. we couldn't get those warmer temperatures to us north of the pike pretty much. and part of the reason it is warmer today is that southwest wind is in place. as we head into this afternoon, i do think it will become more westerly. so because of that, the tide not going to be that much of a concern today.

tide. here are the tiles of high tide for this afternoon. an hour before this, an hour after this, some minor splashover. not the extent of what we saw yesterday with the high tides. here sa look at satellite and radar. lots of sunshine out there as you just saw. really a nice day. this is going to be the best day we have for a few days. because looking ahead, we do have a cold front that will pass over us today. it is not really bringing in any cold air until tomorrow. also, as we head into tomorrow and friday, we are watching this warm front. and this is going to lift northeast. and this has some rain associated with it. heading into tomorrow afternoon and into friday and early saturday, we could see some beneficial rain from this. we are talking half an inch to an inch of rain when we are all said and done here. looking ahead, as i mentioned, today is a nice day. tomorrow morning, we will start to notice the cloud cover increase. but i think we are rain-free until tomorrow afternoon. and evening. when those showers become a little scattered.

mosul from isis. now the united states is accusing militants of holding the people in that city as human shields. here is richard engel who reports from iraq. >> reporter: iraqi forces are closing in on mosul. pushing toward the city today from three sides. the american ground commander, assisting with air strikes, artillery, and advisors told us mosul will fall. and with it, isis' so-called caliphate in iraq. >> when they lose mosul and the territory they have in sir, yeah i think that really puts a knife in the heart of isil. some leaders from isis also known as dash have been fleeing the city. >> there is a lot fewer dash today than there were yesterday. there will be fewer tomorrow than today. >> reporter: isis leaders aren't the only ones trying to escape this offensive. we saw an entire village south of mosul up and leave.

better description of the suspect. right now, the only deskrings they have is that he is a young slender man who was driving a black or silver car. in andover, victoria warren, 7 news. >> christa: a teenager has now been placed on the massachusetts' most wanted list. this is in connection with a deadly shooting in fall river. investigators say 16-year-old jaden smith and another man shot and killed a 29-year-old on plain street back in july. police have arrested the other suspect already. they do say smith should be considered right now, they are offerings a $1,000 reward for any information leading to his arrest. and we are also following more news for you this afternoon. the fallout from hurricane matthew still clearly visible f in north carolina. people in that area trying to return. to their normal lives. some flooding victims say fema assistance isn't enough to help them rebuild. >> reporter: clean-up crews down south going from apartment to apartment removing personal belongings destroyed by hurricane
