there's breaking news from boston police department, one of the officers shot in east boston has been released from the hospital. bpd tweeting that officer richard was released from mass general this afternoon and obviously leap to be home. the other is getting better but still in the hospital. police charged with two men in connection with the explosion of a new box. authorities say they destroyed the box with the surveillance v.a. showed several people standing around the box as it exploded. >> also on 7, a teen tragedy under investigation in brockton. police say this 14-year-old boy riding his bike was hit and killed. >> let's go out to 7's jonathan hall live in brockton. >> good evening, about 24 hours ago this boy was alive getting ready to take a bike ride. unfortunately it would be his

there. the boy's family was here just a few minutes ago and left that bunch of balloons. the morning is lost and now planning a funeral. >> reporter: 14-year-old madu left his house to see a friend and never came home. pictured here with one of his seven brothers and sisters. he was truck struck and on main street. his worried stepmother required hospitalization after she came to the crash site looking for him. police asked her for a photo, she was so shaken she couldn't get on facebook. >> i forget everything because i see the bike i snow it is my son. >> massachusetts state police worked for hours last night to reconstruct the crash. his parents are not inclined or blame the 18-year-old driver.

>> kelly. >> yeah, police shut down the entire neighborhood as they searched for a man with a gun. >> reporter: with long barreled guns, bullet-proof vests and emergency vehicles armed police officers going door to door in this new hampshire neighborhood looking for a plan with a gun. investigators say this all started when an officer on patrol drove by a home here earlier this afternoon, suspected something suspicious was going on. burglary in progress of a residence. there are two people taken into custody, two males, through investigation we revealed there was a third male involved. >> reporter: dillon says those men were trying to rob his home. >> two gentlemen came in my home claiming a robbery and hit me in the head with a gun and then pretty much tried to choke-hold me. i broke free and got outside and then they ran. >> reporter: the 21-year-old says he was set up by an acquaintance who took off before those men allegedly robbed him.

en i hear arguments that massachusetts needs more charter schools, i think: what about the students in all of our schools? every new charter takes away more money from the existing public schools. that's 400 million dollars, just last year. we can't afford to drain even more money from our kids' schools because they're already losing so much. i'm not just standing up for my own kids; i'm fighting for yours, too.

normal high of 61. the city reached 81. right now we are at 76. cape and islands upper 60s to around 70. we had a little humidity out there this morning and this front came krewes cruising through about lunch time and that shoved the humidity out to sea and turned it into a gorgeous afternoon. now that the air is dry, that will allow temperatures to cool off faster than what happened last night into another weather system. so for tonight, a few clouds after midnight. cool, 48 to 55. tomorrow's a decent day. i knowth not gonna be as warm and some of you are bummed about that. i understand that.

worcester hills. showing a fair amount of sunshine and again it's a nice one. temps tomorrow afternoon about where we should be this time of year. low 60s and then by tomorrow evening, you notice the showers beginning to show up more so western new england than in our part of the world but even as we advance through tomorrow evening, a few more showers possible but i think a higher chance of showers on friday. temps on friday in the mid-60s. that'll be our highest chance of rain, friday afternoon and friday evening. and the potential's there to pick up some beneficial rain friday night pha an inch of rain, from this storm system right here. storm peels out of southern new england early saturday morning, but it really intensifies. and that cranks up the wind, becomes a fly wheel in the atmosphere. what that will do is get that wind cranking. over 30 miles per hour both saturday and again on sunday. we are ahead of the charlestown this weekend. plan on blustery cool conditions along the river banks for saturday and sunday. but essentially a dry weekend after very early morning showers saturday.
