behind me mostly a freshman dorm where this incident allegedly happened. a at the went out to all of the students but many tell me today they wish they were given more information. an allahing start to the cool week for state of the union at boston university. an alert sent via text to students informing them that a sexual assault happened at one of the dorms on commonwealth avenue. the text didn't provide too many details, only saying a student reported being sexually assaulted at the warren towers early sunday morning. students received the text say it's troubling but didn't make them too nervous. usually if i'm out late at night i'm just across the street so i live really close to where i go at night so it helps me. >> reporter: the victim reported the crime sunday afternoon but unable to provide police with a description of suspect. their security 24 hours a day at warren towers but it's unclear how the suspect got inside. students who got the alert wish they had more information about the incident.

causing more controversy at boston latin. more than 500 students have signed an on-line petition protesting the school's new dress code that bans spaghetti straps and gang related clothing or colors. now students say the policy is discriminated against female students and minorities. the school plans to enforce that new dress code starting next week. >> anchor: two construction workers killed during a watermain break in trench collapse in boston will be honored at the statehouse. officials saying robert gg an calvin maddox will be remembered during a commemoration next april. they were killed when a watermain broke and flooded a trench they were working in on friday afternoon. the incident still under investigation. >> anchor: a pants party in rhode island dozens of women took part in the yoga pants parade on sunday, an event that protests body shaling. the parade was in response to a letter to the editor in a local newspaper criticizing women of a certain age for wearing the form fitting work out attire. it speaks to the need for

wear what we want. >> anchor: so the man who sent that letter to the paper is saying it was all a joke and that the parade was stressful and intimidating since it happened right in front of his home. >> anchor: a football brawl caught on camera. saturday's merrimack college versus southern connecticut football game ends in a rumble. the teams were shaking hands when some pushing and shoving escalated, coves and referencies were eventually able to break up the brawl. in arrests were made and no one was hurt. caught on camera purposing a student inside of a school. you can see the man walk down the hallway and then hit the 7-year-old boy who falls right to the ground and now the by's mother is demanding some answers but vet position are wondering why this happened in the first place? jonathan hall reports. cameras were rolling inside kip dc shrink spring academy catching a parent acting inappropriately wednesday. lena said she requested this individual from the school's hallway after her 7-year-old,

was assaulted by a school mate' parent. i was in the hallway and somebody punched me in the stomach. >> reporter: that punch caused jon to slump over while he held his stomach the parent walked out of the building. how bad did it hurt? real bad. it made my stomach painful. >> reporter: you watch my son on that ground and you didn't do nothing. all you can say to me is you was playing? >> anchor: she said she has positive interaction with the parent a few times in the past but doesn'de would hurt her child. you don't bully a child and you don't torment a child. i wouldn't do that to you. i wouldn't do that to your child or none your kids. i feel much better when he is locked up. >> anchor: a spokesperson for kip dc says in part the health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff remains our number one priority. we will continue to work closely with the police to insure that students and staff are safe at school. you all should have the had the letter out the day it

handled differently. >> anchor: the ex-wife of a former subway pitchman jared fogel is suing the company saying subway continued to promote her ex-husband after three reports indicating his sexual interest in children. the lawsuit alleges the company allowed jared to spend time promoting in elementary schools. one rv filed with marijuana candy went up in flames. the company weed world candies confirmed it was one of their promotional rv's. it was headed when it caught fire. you can see it. the truck and everything inside total loss but the five people on board were able to escape. >> anchor: five people are dead after a house fire in georgia on sunday. you can see here the massive fire ball right through the trees. in fact, the fire was so intense that fire fighters were forced to fight those flames from the outside. this cell phone video shot by a neighbor shows a fire so bright all you can see through the trees is light in the police where a house should be.

fire when the call came in. >> reporter: besides the big flame, their path to the house was also blocked by marking wires. fire fighters did say there was an arc in the electrical line on the right side of the home it. never came down but was arcing. once blames were out, fire fighters found the bodies of five people. no one who was inside survived. a neighbor says there was a propane tank on the back of the house that may have exploded. it sounded legitimate like gun shots there were lots of banking and you shy says the family had a bonn fire in the pit behind their house last night. it's something they have done before and she says there has never been any problems. when you go to bed you know you pour water on your fire to try to eliminate the coles. >> anchor: while investigators are looking at these accidental causes until they know for sure, police are ready to step in at any moment. in the event that it does turn where there is some kind of flownious activity we would assist them even further and take over the investigation on a homicide end.

when you don't have the sun around. overall though for the month of october afternooning about three degrees before normal and again at the first of the month your average high, looking ahead this week it will offer some chilly air with last week jet stream looking like that warm along the eastern seaboard especially here in boston last wednesday and even last friday temperatures made it into the mid 70's before those downpours showed up. this week the jet stream will look like this which out an area for the cool air from canada to reside and find a home here in the northeast after today so the warmest day of the week was today, is today, right now mid and upper 50's. that's normal. upper 50's. the city at 57. nashua 5 hyannis at 59. watertown and burlington and albany only in the mid and upper 40's and that's the area that will be on the way for new england tomorrow and again on wednesday. there goes the cool front moving offshore.

couple of sprinkles and showers very early this morning. a fast moving weather system and now we'll have high pressure for the next couple of days. so tonight partly cloudy skies, wind fades away. temperatures between 33 and 39. kids at the bus stop tomorrow morning kind of chilly with temperatures at 8:00 near 40 but some of the cooler spots will find their way down into the middle 30's and you need that jacket all day. they will have outdoor recess tomorrow with lots of sunshine all day long but temperatures slow to recover. a sign that we are early fall and heading for mid fall after that. temperatures between 45 and 50 again the sun doesn't quite have the same firepower it does in the early part of fall where you have these cool morning but the numbers are slow to recover throughout the afternoon hours. that's what happens tomorrow norwood 49, the city at 50. worcester hills and the merrimac valley in the upper 40's, dracut 49. worcester hills fitchburg at 47. and out on to the cape and islands partly to mostly sunny

chill to the air. few clouds around wednesday, chilly once again, number in the upper 40's and there is a freeze watch in effect for tomorrow night into wednesday morning. does not include downtown boston but the suburbs up to 128 as question as portions of the south shore but you notice there are other locations where we don't have the watch in effect because the growing season has come to an end but in the worcester hills metrowest 495 corridor it will still be cold on wednesday morning. now on to the end of the week here comes our next storm system which will come through the great lake states and i think there is going to be left arriving wednesday afternoon likely to be a little bit of sleet in the worcester hills as well as the monadknock region perhaps even some wet snow back through the berkshires. i don't think anything on 495 or toward the city but there may be a sleep pet el or two metrowest, merrimack valve valley but we're talking about another rainstorm of chilly rain at that. temperatures on wednesday and friday in the upper 40's. see you at 0 clock. >> anchor: it's monday which means it's time for who did it

hilary clinton calling in back up in new england as donald trump tries to win over voters in the key battle ground state of florida. >> reporter: a chilly wind returns to new england next couple days. no need for change in the tolls. drivers facing a deadline as toll booths go electronic. >> anchor: first at 6:00 a chilling collision in middleborough. a wrong way driver on 495 hits anom people inside. >> anchor: the woman who was driving wrong way also died in the crash. three of young victims were related and tonight we're hearing from the heart broken father of one of them. first steve cooper with our coverage in mid old borough for the investigation side. this was exally horrific. >> anchor: horror on the highway when police say a wrong way driver crashed head on into another car here on 495 in

emergency responders scrambled at the scene just after midnight. that's where troopers say a 31-year-old woman from fall river was driving south in the northbound lanes of highway and was killed. as were four young men in the mercury sable that burst into flames. the damage to the vehicles were so extensive it was difficult to get the folks out of vehicles. >> reporter: by daylight imans of the mangled mess are chil figure out why the wrong way driver ended up where she did of the other driver they say had no chance. there is no indication that time allowed for evasive action. >> reporter: middleborough fire fighters many of whom have children old enough to drive are still wrestling with what they responded to. to see that in that much tragedy in one incident is difficult. >> anchor: while an accident

here is heartbroken over the loss of so many lives. very, very tragic and horrific accident and my thoughts and prayers are with the families. >> anchor: the state police aren't releasing victims names until family members have all been notified. all they will say right now is their investigation into what happened is ongoing. in middleborough, steve cooper, 7 news. >> anchor: tonight we're hearing from the heart broken father of one of the victims. a college student returning to team 7 coverage live on cape cod and kelly we're saying father but because of the relations he could also be an uncle or sole sort of relative to the other victim as well, right? >> reporter: yes, that's right. this man is absolutely heartbroken. i don't think heartbreaking describes what this family is going through. they are a large family here on this cape his son was headed to anna maria college with his two cousins and another friend
