i didn't want to break my knife. and that is that pastry chef describing to 7news how she broke the window to let some of these trapped people out after a fire broke out on this orange line this afternoon. there were five people injured, including that chef. she was treated for smoke inhalation as well as a t police officer. three were treated here on the scene. two others taken to the hospital. the orange line here at back bay is still shut down at this hour. we're live in boston, i'm at lex debado, 7 news. breaking news on beacon hill. an suv slamming into this building. kimberly bookman live on beacon hill, have they been able to remove that vehicle yet? yeah, ryan. at this hour that vehicle was towed away. you can take a look over my shoulder and see what is left

that suv slammed right into a wall that was holding up a pantry. you can see now what is left behind here at this hour. and we do understand that no one was here at the time in that house, which is the good news heres. fire 15s tell us they believe the suv was involved in some kind of a hit and run maybe near cambridge street, and then drove up on grove street all the way to the end, right before witnesses say the suv was speeding, some say they were going about 70 miles per hour when it hit this hall -- this wall here at the home. and then all of these bricks began to fall. now both the driver and the passenger that were in that suv were taken by ambulance. we were told that they were both alert and conscious. >> i seen a white car flying up here. flying up here, doing like 70 with no brakes. smack into the wall. >> so it wasn't as if they were trying to get into a garage, it

something. >> when we first got here, there were two people within the vehicle that was actually against the structure over there. the people were conscious and alert. they were able to remove them from the vehicle. i really don't know what happened preceding that. i understand it was coming up the street at a high rate of speed and may have been a hit and run or something down on cambridge street. >> back out here live again, looking at the scene, you can see there's a big gaping hole. that was a wall holding up a ry that suv has been removed, and fire officials tell us when they removed that, the wall was actually sort of neighboring a garage. it started to collapse a little bit on the garage. there was a car there that sustained some damage. that's about to the extent of it. they have taken the suv away and are investigating at this hour. kimberly bookman, 7news. and there's breaking news in win chest they are evening, as well. another damaging drive. investigators saying a box truck

what it did to that house. took out part of the garage. the company says no one was hurt and believe the crash was caused by a mechanical issue by that truck, possibly a brake failure that sent it down a steep hill. a day long search in marblehead after an ambush on a trail. officers say a man managed to get away running towards salem. steve cooper has much more on this case. >> this is a popularl here in northshore and a lot of people use it every day of the week. and tonight, as you can imagine, residents are rattled by what happened here today while police are busy searching for a suspect. >> i find that sort of shocking because i've always thought this trail is very safe. >> police on motorcycles here in marblehead along with officers on foot patrol and flooding the area with cruisers plus k-9s and their handlers, all

route 114 at the marble head/salem line. all this after a woman in her early 40s was approached by a man on a bicycle. >> she realized he was exposing himself and coming towards her reaching out to get her. she pulled back. she screamed for help. he took off. >> reporter: the woman wasn't physically harmed. schools in the area were quickly notified of the incident. a private tower school pre-k through 8 and next to the rail trail quickly moved all students >> we immediately went into lock-down. you know, obviously the security of our kids is a priority. >> reporter: investigators scoured the area for hours searching for the suspect, who took off on a bicycle towards salem, leaving runners and walkers scared but not necessarily deterred to be out here. >> bad things can happen anywhere. anything can happen. have you to be vigilant and aware. >> we haven't had anything like this in my memory occur. but i think it's safe to say

a while longer. >> and with the extra patrols in place around here, police are also urging people in are using the rail trails to not do so alone and also make sure this he have a cell phone with them. live in marblehead tonight, steve cooper, 7 nuts. a final report offering disturbing details into the taunton stabbing spree and the days leading up to it. the report says the 28-year-old arthur derosa was diagnosed with anxiety disorder hours before he attacked several people in manic and depressed, but was not given any medication. the report goes on to say the night of the stabbing derosa was involved in a hit and run and attacked two women in their home, killing one of them. he then moved to the silver city galleria in taunton where he killed another man, stabbed a pregnant woman and an off-duty sheriff's deputy shot and killed him, which the d.a. said today was justified. over the course of those enters, 80-year-old patricia and

her home and heath killed at the practice trouchey's in the mall -- practice tiewchy's at the mall. >> a car driving the wrong way collided with another car. brian gunnoe is live at hyannis where the vigil is happening. >> brian, this vigil and the memorial started a few minutes ago so i'm going to try to speak quietly to not drb hundreds, several hundreds people have shot showed up for this vigil and moiling. you can see all the balloons and candle that they have been lighting. this is in the village green in hyannis, if you're familiar with it. police say the 31-year-old man was driving the wrong way on 45 early monday morning in middleboro when she crashed head-on into a vehicle with four young college students. all five died on scene.
