the web site. the days of digging in your pocket to pay a toll are over. at 10:00 tonight, massachusetts goes to an all-electronic tolling system. >> the main thing i'm concerned about is... well, of course, the traffic. it is going to be crazy. and then on the other thing is, the money. >> reporter: as the new system is implemented, thes. possible delays because of changes in traffic patterns. to help people prepare, ez pass customer service centers will have extended hours throughout the weekend. the department of transportation releaving this video of what the changes will eventually look like. the new tolling system will be cheaper for people with transponders. if you don't already have one, there will be a six-month grace period. here is what you need to know. if you don't have a transponder, you will get a

even a little bit of wet snow out in wis western worcester county yesterday. nothing like what we saw five years ago. it's hard to believe it's been five years since we saw this powerful nor'easter late in october. 2011. places in massachusetts, near peru, massachusetts, picking up 32 inches of snow. peru is out there in the western portion of the state. even up into ash burnham, 22 inches of snow. that 20-plus area worked its way into new hampshire with that storm. 15 inches of snow from it in fully leafed out there, we had power outages and huge issues. 1.7 million lost their power back in that nor'easter. up and down not only new england but you have to factor in upstate new york as well as down into new jersey. rainfall totals out of this storm, this is the main theme here. this is the headlining event for us. in terms of the aspect of the storm across eastern massachusetts. it was the rain. one to two inches fell across the area. in its wake, we still have a little bit of wet weather

and done with here in southern new england. once in a while, some patches of drizzle and a couple of light showers. i expect that to be the case through the afternoon and even into the early evening hours around dinnertime. more nuisance-type stuff. you combine the fact that we are not seeing much sun. you combine the fact that they have winds gusting over 30 miles an hour. temperatures only running into the 40's. it is a cool, windy raw feel to the air. to end this workweek. look at the heavy snow across portions of maine. really piling up in portionsle of ski country out that way. you get to sugarloaf and north and east, looks like up near millinocket, maine, points north, some snow there. a cold rain across the down-east coastline. 48 in boston right now. 41 in worcester. a potent storm. we are the strong winds out of the west. gusting to near 30 miles an hour. this is driving down windchill factors down into the 0's and lower 40's.

sip a pipeline protest intensifying in north dakota. police arresting more than a hundred people after a dramatic standoff. protesters set several fires and blocked a highway where an oil pipeline is expected to be built. >> christa: one protesters even opened fire on an officer. overnight, police heading the ground where they clashed with native american protesters in north dakota. an army of 200 officers clearing demonstrators, blocking a highway, used access >> meaning the proest thers would get right in the faces of officers and say nasty things to them. >> what lengths is north dakota willing to go to defend a multibillion-dollar oil corporation? >> christa: the $3.8 billion project is capable of transporting 570,000 barrels of oil per day. construction, though, runs along a standing reservation.

a survivor getting back some of her belongings. >> reporter: at first, erica branic didn't know if she wanted to see her things from that day. she decided to go ahead and get them back. and a cell phone filled with messages from that day. for erica branic, every step is a reminder of the deadly attack near the boston marathon finish line. she has undergone multiple surge ris and is now living with a prosthetic leg. nothing has brought back the me seeing the clothes she was wearing and where the pieces of shrapnel pierced her body. >> at first, i wasn't sure if i wanted to see my clothes. when i was there, i decided i do want to see them. i had a ravens shirt on that i loved. i remember being so upset that they cut it. i had... i saw my jeans. i saw how shredded and torn apart they were. and oddly enough, my left shoe

she ran after the suspect and tracked them down. >> reporter: the boston police officer was working a detail inside the boston credit union in west roxbury. >> i actually saw her when i walked past. there was a lady right in the front. she was sitting at a booth or something. >> reporter: man with a mask came through the doors. the officer ordered the man to take off the mask. the man wouldn't comply and told the officer to hand over her gun. she refused and chased the man out of the credit union. the bold robbery attempt has stunned employees. police say the man took off at a small red car fbs. a police captain who was in the area heard the call on the radio and picked up the police officer. they chased the man down. here outside an italian restaurant called tony's place, 51-year-old richard casano was

>> sarah: boston police say an uber driver won't face any charges for crashing into a home in beacon hill. the driver has been involved in numerous accidents over the years. his record includes several license suspensions since 1985. uber says the driver does meet state standards to drive for them. >> christa: two people arrested after this crash that was caught on camera. in lebanon, new hampshire. police say the suspects were drunk when as you see, they went off the road and then slammed into a utility pole. wow. officers found prescription drugs in the car, they say. they have been charged with driving under the influence and drug possession. >> sarah: we are following more news today. the 7 people involved in an armed standoff in oregon cleared of all charges. the group drew national attention when they occupied a federal wildlife refuge earlier this year. a verdict not sitting well

tears of joy. >> we came to the county seeking justice. and we found it. >> reporter: the jury found the brothers, along with five other defendants not guilty on all counts connected to an armed standoff with federal agents back in february. >> it's overwhelming. it is all we hope for. but didn't know we would get. report t trial coming after an occupation at a wildlifer refuge in oregon that lasted six weeks. a group of at least 19 occupiers said they were protesting for rangers' rights and opposing government overreach. prosecutors in the trial argue that the defendants kept federal employ easy from doing their jobs during their occupation of the refuge. some defendants also faced felony charges of theft of government property and possession of firearms at a federal facility. during the leader's arrest, a

yes, we had flash flooding a week ago through worcester county. there was short-term beneficial rain. in fact, too much too fast. in quite a few cases out there into worcester county. we will slowly chisel away at this. slight improvements next week. when we look at the next weekly update that comes out on thursday. overall, though, we picked up another one to two inches of water last night and early this morning. we still see some patches of drizzle and some light showers around. but this potent storm is into southern maine, and then you get across the interior. it is snowing. especially across the higher terrain of the western and northwestern mountains in maine. 48 in boston. 41 in worcester. we actually lost several degrees in the city. we were 55 this morning. the reason for that was when the area of low pressure was over us or just west of us, it was a strong on-shore wind coming offer those relatively warm ocean waters. and also out of the east, southeast.
