>> anchor: first at 4:30, we are following breaking news. fire crews race to o'hare airport in chicago after some sort of fire there. you can see the intense black smoke right on the runway coming out of that plane. thankfully everyone got off board safely. adam williams live with the breaking details. >> reporter: major fire there it appears. american airlines says a flight to miami was going down the runway when it had some sort of

did get off that aircraft sail. the runway shut down and the faa says it will open an investigation into what caused all of this. and here is a live look from chicago's o'hare of that plane right now. it looks a little hazy right now but you can see all of the fire trucks surrounding and the evacuation slides that were deployed and if you look to the left, hang on right there. if you look to the left you can see it looks like a perhaps a scorch mark on the back of that airplane unless that perhaps but i don't think it is. also bear in mind that air crafts like this appease to be a 737 or perhaps a little bigger but all airports carry their fuel in the wings so the proximity of the engine to the fuel in the wings could certainly have been a contributing factor to that black smoke and big fire. everybody is okay there. we'll continue to follow any developments into a possible cause and bring you the very latest here on 7 news. in the newsroom, adam williams, 7 news. >> anchor: also on 7 the wife

at her house and her husband reported that apparent crime. >> anchor: but an investigation proved it just wasn't true. kimberly bookman live for us with more on what exactly happened here. kimberly? jadiann police say money problems probably caused this woman to lie. her husband said that he didn't know anything about it at all. it's unfortunate that we're here today. >> reporter: the a podium in the millbury police station the department's chief reveals a theft reported at out to be made up. it never happened. maria daly fabricated the entire story that there was no break into the home, there was no larceny from the home. >> reporter: last week police say they went to officer dan daly's home and found draws the open and the place disshelled. the wife reporting $10,000 worth of jewelry missing. neighbors were shocked and they

from the high school. >> reporter: that seemed to make sense to many because the couple reported their yellow siding was vandalized too, possibly the initials of black lives matterment list were wary because no one reported hearing the dog barking. the mere fact you have an active k-9 officer with a very active k-9 at the residence didn't make sense to me. obviously there was no need for the dog to be agitated because as far as he was concerned nothing really happened. >> reporter: investigators officer's wife to lie. the fact i just found out she actually did the whole thing herself, okay, that's weird. i think she should know better. come on. >> reporter: plus say the wife did admit to committing these crimes. she will be summoned to court. reporting live from millbury, kimberly bookman, 7 news. >> anchor: new details in an investigation in concordment police releasing the photo of this car today.

of the vehicle. police are searching for a man who they say followed a child home from school and took pictures of him. now parents there of course are on high alert. nicole oliverio has the latest for us. parents may be changing their holiday weekend plans in concord after police say a suspicious manifold an elementary school student home on thursday. we're not sure what we're going to do for halloween, whether we will walk with them. some of them are old enough to go on their own but we'll question that this weekend. >> reporter: police sent out approached a young student around 3:40 as he was walking home from school. the man reportedly told the child he had candy. the boy ignored the man but told officers as he was entering the home the driver got out of the car and began taking pictures with his phone. i do work at the high school here in town and i would say it's a pretty safe place but i don't think anywhere is safe. concord schools says it's first concern is student safety and that principals and staff

things like that don't happen very often and we tend to let children enjoy the town and without worrying. the boy told officers that he believes the driver was in a newer model sedan. police won't say where this happened or what school that student was coming from but they are asking the public for help. in concord, nicole oliverio, 7 news. >> anchor: a new hampshire woman allegedly kidnapped by her boyfriend has been found safe. londonderry police say the man forced. woman from her workplace then into his car. state police in massachusetts were able to stop him in worcester. he was questioned and released as the investigation continues he could be facing several charges including kidnapping. >> anchor: police and swat teams surround a hotel in hampton, new hampshire. police say an man fired at officers leading to a standoff. the union leader reports the man was later found dead inside a room at the marion motel. no officers were injured and police did not return fire.

officials there say two boats were badly damaged in the boat yard and plastic covers of six others vessels there were burned. no injuries were reported. >> anchor: two people are arrested after a crazy crash is caught on camera in lebanon, new hampshire. police say the suspects were drunk when they ran their car off the road and slammed into a utility pole on route 4. officers later found prescription drugs later in the vehicle. they have been charged with driving under the influence form eappen state coach has been awarded $7.3 million in in a lawsuit against the school. the verdict comes nearly five years after the former coach says penn state defamed him and ruined his reputation. the school placed him on administrative leave in 2011 after it became public his testimony helped prosecutors charge jerry sandusky with child molestation. >> anchor: traffic came it i astand still this morning near the new york-new jersey border as a man was taken into custody after climbing the george

south tower of that bridge. the nypd special operations chief tweeted that the man was emotionally disturbed but the chief said emergency services and nypd were able to negotiate with that climber. he is now being evaluated. >> anchor: two freight trains collided head on today on a stretch of track just south of philadelphia. officials say both trains owned by csx transportation were moving at the time of the accident. two people were injured in the collision and were ta hospital. csx officials are now investigating that crash. >> anchor: also on 7, a south florida family celebrating christmas a bit earlier this year. the city of plantation sued them saying their holiday display was a public nuisance. the family won the light fight. a judge ruled against the city. brendan buyer has much more. show will go on in plantation. not only a victory for our family, it's a victory for all of the residents of the city of plantation.

favor of the hyatt family's extravagant yearly christmas display claiming the city of plantation failed to show these 200,000 lights, ornaments and other decorations are a public nuisance. she vindicated our family. she vindicated our ability to bring the christmas spirit to many of the residents here in south florida. come into christmas. >> reporter: the city sued the family two years ago saying the thousands that came to see this display created a traffic problem, but in court it wasn't until the city got involved that all of these visitors became an issue. there wasn't even so much as a traffic tie up. when would go to the grocery store or anything. it was like totally fine. now they door celebrating. i am thrilled. i am absolutely thrilled. the good guys win. >> reporter: mark hyatt said the city spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to shut his christmas display down. it's partially why he is now running for public office.

after being burned in a an explosion. a mobile home in a he o.an officer's body camera captured that footage wednesday. investigators say an oxygen tank erupted which caused that blast. >> anchor: some surfers in california getting a buzz. a low flying plane getting a little too close to surfers in the water off the coast of delmar. the whole incident caught on camera as police are now investigating. planes are often spotted at the beach but rarely do they fly so low for so long. this plane s different flying really low over the surf zone, we call to the impact zone. we have surfers, swimmers, boogie boarders. >> anchor: officer adam chase says this video shows a cessna flying as low as 20 feet over the heads of at least four surfers which chase believes violates several faa regulation. aircraft that fly over water have to stay a minimum of 500 feet away from any person, vessel, structure. >> reporter: chase also said

eiraqa was watching her mother run marathon when bombs went of. >> anchor: she just recently got her things back including her cell phone filled with messages from that fateful day. jennifer egan has much more. >> reporter: for erica every step is a reminder of the deadly attack near the boston marathon finish line of she has undergone multiple surgeries and now lives with a prosthetic leg. nothing has brought back memories from that day like seeing the clothes see was wearing and where the pieces of shrapnel pierced her body. at first i wasn't sure if i wanted to when i was there i decided i do want to see them of i had a ravens shirt on that i loved and i remember being so upset they cut it and i had, i saw my jeans and i saw how shredded and just torn apart they were and aoddly enough my left shoe they had kept and now that i am an amputee on my left side it was very emotional seeing my shoe.

we're talking raindrops and not snowflakes. wind advisory in effect again at the seacoast, cape ann in particular as cape cod and islands. winds may gust upwards of 50 miles per hour. here you go, provincetown within the last few moments gusting to 40 miles per hour, even back into the worcester hills occasionally you will have a gust around 30, 35 miles per hour. so real messy out there at in time, high pressure not anywhere near us. this is low pressure wound up, there is a little area of high su you even farther west and there is another storm system quickly zipping through the flake states and this may actually be a preview of what we see this winter where we don't have el nino around this winter. we have perhaps a weak la nina which really energizing the northern branch of the jet stream and so you have a lot of these storm systems that zip across the northeast and obviously when it's cold enough then you are talking snow. that might be something you pay

december. now on to your weekend forecast. we slow things down with the forecasting. a lot of clouds out there tomorrow. maybe a sprinkle tomorrow afternoon. and i think a better chance of a few showers on sunday afternoon as those weather systems are zipping through but again it's not going to be a repeat of what we dealt with the last couple days. no powerhouse storms coming at us of a weak weather system moving right across the northeast and then high pressure is with us on halloween. so the weekend again a lot of clouds tomorrow, a few sprinkle in the afternoon no. that catches your attention perhaps the most is the temperatures will be in the mid and upper 50's both tomorrow and again on sunday. which is where we should be for this time of year. not in the 40's which is where we are now. sunday afternoon again risk of a few showers. some of the apple orchards still offering picking so get after it with the numbers in mid and upper 50's this afternoon although personally myself i have to get myself a pumpkin before linus grabs the great pumpkin. a few showers on sunday

at 5:00 i'm plane catches fire at chicago's o'hare airport just minutes before takeoff. a very scary scene on the runway. look at the smoke pouring out of the aircraft. evacuations slides were activated and all passengers were able to get off the plane safely. >> anchor: some passengers were injured. let's get to ryan schulteis here now with the latest on this breaking story. ryan? >> reporter: american airlines flight 383 was going down the runway ready for takeoff from miami when faa official say a tire blew out and debris damage that. engine caught fire and you can see here black smoke filling the air. massive plumes of smoke in this video right here. fire crews race to the scene. there were 161 passengers on board and nine crew members. the airline confirming all of the passengers were evacuated and we're hearing there are several minor injuries involved with this. the runway at o'hare airport is now shut down. you can see the plane surrounded by lots of fire trucks right there, all of the evacuation slides are deployed and a big burn mark, very visible, on the
