boston where a fire truck and car collide in the back bay causing a serious chain-reaction crash that have ten cars damaged and five people taken to the hospital including four firefighters. >> that's right. kim is in the newsroom with more on the latest on this for us. >> the firefighters were on their way to a call when this crashed happened. engine 7 was helding up commonwealth avenue just before 11:00 this morning and that's when they collided with a car at dartmouth car and damaged other cars in front of them. right over comm avenue. you see the serious front end dpaj to the chevy truck for example. the trooifr of that car and four boston firefighter had to go to mass general. two of the firefighters now released and everyone is expected to be okay. breaking today. the patriots traded star linebacker jamie collins to the browns.

six street level businesses were impacted well. >> we have the presence of gas in those buildings. >> danger to the area? >> well, it's outside, and it's vented to the outside. some of it is looking into the immediate building, so again, it's as a precaution we just evacuate them. >> boston police quickly seal off the roads around the leak, leading to traffic troubles at the height of the monday morning commute. >> it's disruptive but happens. hopefully it gets cleared up on capping the gas leak and working to air out the buildings where the gas had seeped inside. no one hurt but disruptive here, but most seem to be taking all this in stride. >> go get a coffee and stand around and wait. that's about it. >> reporter: a lot of sdrumgs around here but the good news so no one was hurt. the cause of the gas leak is still under investigation. in downtown boston, steve cooper, 7 news. a quincy school bus driver

week. it happened last tuesday at quarry street. several children were taken to the hospital but they're okay. the driver is cited for negligent operation and marked lanes violations and could face several fines and two years in prison. a man accused of the alarms assault of a broxton high school student was in court today. he raped the student in the school's parking lot on thursday during school hour made plans to meet up the day he sauled here. the 44-year-old is pleading not guilty. darius berry is charged with second-degree murder for killing a 23-year-old man in east boston. officials say the attack happened on paris street in august. a group of thieves caught on camera in bolten. look at this. home surveillance video shows one thief grabbing a political

running away. both the democratic and republican signs have been stolen. activists in maine held a vigil to show support for the pipeline protesters. nearly 100 people gathered in bangor with anti-pipeline protesters. it was held days after a protest in north dakota leading to 140 arrests. they're trying to block the construction of the dakota access pipeline in at the vigil. >> it means the world to him. he just asked for prayer. i asked if he wanted anything or he said he just wanted people to pray. >> protesters say it will hurt the environment and destroy nearby native-american sites. a scare at new york's metropolitan opera. a man walked up on stage and had a white substance. >> we have spoken to more than

a possible abduction is caught on camera in virginia. you can see two suspects pull up outside of a walmart in woodbridge friday night. after leaving the car one suspect returns and opening the trunk and moments later they appear to force the victim into the open trunk. they then back in and speed away. police are still looking for them. a panda wrestles an intruder that snuck into an exclosure at a zoo in china. he was showing off to his friends, but then the prank turned to panic when the panda grabbed the man's leg and pulled him down to the ground. he was able to escape. neither panda norman was hurt. >> he was delayed several hours due to terrorism concerns when a passenger overheard a suspicious foin conversation when he reported that everyone was removed from the plane and rescreened, they didn't find suspicious divisions and there was no arrest.

the halloween forecast may give you the chills with the mild temperatures we enjoyed to wrap up the weekend yesterday. it will be mild again by the middle of the week, but we continue the ups and downs. can you keep up? fall is typical this time of year. we're 10 degrees cooler than 24 hours ago. it was a mild day yesterday, even 70 degrees coast before the rain moved in. for tonight it's dry and chilly. upper 40s stretching from bedford into boston, 45 in worcester, 54 degrees norwood to plymouth. any way you cut it and slice it, trick-or-treating forecast is for a jacket and possibly a heavy coat. mostly clear skies and as the winds die down, it allows the temperatures to cool off

by 9:00 p.m. in the upper 30s and the temperatures continue to drop overnight into the mid and upper 20s for some typically cool spots with clear skies for us. again, mostly sunny for us tomorrow. it's crisp and cool, sort of your quint seven yal fall day. thank goodness it's sweater weather. we have a warm-up into the middle of the week. it's fairly mild. not n near 70 degrees in some spots. here's what's happening with the jet stream, the separation between the cool air to the north and the warm air to the south. all of that warment is centered in the middle of the country right now. we will tap into that for a couple of days before that cold air surges back in to wrap up this week and head into next weekend, and i got to say it's not completely out of the realm of foblt for a few flurries next
